I agree 100%. But a caste iron reason why "fans" are not the best people to run a football club. Thanks for all you have done for the club Leon but please stay away from the decision making processes in future!

People on here give people like GM and Jonah an awful lot of stick, but guess what, they are usually right. They don't get fooled by all the hype as most fans do time and time again. Give them grief if you want, but next time someone wants to take over this club, look very hard at what they have to say. It is all very well shooting the messenger, but sometimes you need to listen to what the messenger has to say before pulling the trigger!!!

If we take one lesson from this it should be never trust people who conduct their business on an internet chat forum!!!! First Wilde, now Lynam...arghhhhh!!!!!

Don't worry, the same people on hear will be wailing and gnashing their teeth when he turns out to be a decent Prem player - which he could well do. I think he was bought with a view for selling on to make money. Good luck to him.

I am from South London by birth and as the previous poster said the term "dustbin lid" always meant "kid".

Starting off 10 points adrift is not helpful, but if you are serious about buying a football club doesn't that just become another short term hurdle, like getting rid of lots of rubbish players? Whether we have a strong legal case or not, SFC effectively ran out of mulah so take the hit and build for the future FFS. We are never going to beat the FL on this on in a month of Sundays. Pinnacle, if you are serious about our club, prove it and do the bloody deal.

If MLT wasn't linked to Pinnacle what would you think now?

I think the bigger pictures has something to do with "show us the money". Frankly at this poing 10 points means nothingto me, I am more concerned with Pinnacle and what Pinnacle actually is, because it is certainly not Matt Le Tissier. -

Ottery dear chap, I know you are away with the faeries but this is a bit rich. If you had ever bother to read Jonah's post you would know that he was not a great fan of Lowe and was more than happy to see him gone if replaced with someone better. Jonah was very sceptical about the Wilde Bunch and his insticts proved to be 100% right. Any Sanits supporter worth his salt should be wary of any situation that does not smell right. To date I think more and more people are getting cold feet over Pinnacle. Face it, with Matty on board the outfit would be getting ripped to shreads by now, in fact it is already starting!! -

It was a very clever move getting Matty involved. If he puts his name to something we are bound to follow because of his hero status. TL is doing the man of the people bit and keeping people happy here (what about the fans who do not have internet access) but other than these two and the word that Crouch will also be on the board, what on easrth do we know about the money man? Nothing. Without Matty's involvement I would be treating this in the same way I would Marc Jackson's efforts. I appreciate that these things take time, but this is taking an age. I wil treat this from now as the Paul Allen hoax and only finally believe it when the ink is dry on the page. -
If Marc Jackson sorts himself out tomorrow it could all be academic!!!!
-
It is one thing trusting Matt, but what if he is being used?
-
Given what happened last time I am very much with GM here. Something doesn;t seem quite right and I would feel a lot more comfortable if we knew who the money man is. Just because MLT is on board doesn't mean that it is kosher. A great many people were taken in by Wilde, would it be so strange for Matt to be taken in by someone? I hope it is all kosher, that the deal will go through today and everything will be wonderful...but I am certainly not going to start waving flags yet.

You understood WGS????

Whilst 10 points is not huge, the principle is I'm afraid. The FL will not want to lose this one. They obvioulsy don't fancy the legal battle and will do all they can to prevent one, hence blackmail.

Leon Crouch's heart is obviously in the right place but he does have a dose of foot in mouth disease. If it is true that he is to get a place on the Board then I pray that they make sure he has a gagging order!!!
-
I would go along with that. The appointment would certainly galvanise the club. Something that is sorely needed.
-
But he has acted in a decent and professional manner and obviously cares about the club, so sue him!

"Can you lay your hands on £25 million quid?"

And when they were given a chance things got so much better.....

Couldn't agree more. The biggest single reason we went down (closely followed by Claus's appalling dip in form that year).
-
I remember his last game in the 1966 World Cup. It was against Mexico and he nearly scored with a diving header. As you say, his time was done when Sir Alf opted to do away with wingers from the next match onwards...to be fair to him though it did work!

Why? Is this one owner going to be the Chairman, manager, head coach etc etc. There are personality and ego clashes in most organisations, why should the new set up be any different? They can clash all they like so long as they turn things around at SFC.

Pretty much spot on Sid, other than you can bet that Alpine will always put his money on the negative rather than the positive. And for the record Alpine, I hope the new owner, whoever he or she is, is a great success for the club. I do fear for MLT though. If we don't go up over the next three years the likes of Alpine will have the rope out for him. As for one shot at promotion, what rubbish. Redknapp blew in the first seaosn buy not buying a goal scorer. Burley didn't blow it. We came withinh a whisper of the play off final and would have made it but for a couple of errors by players. The season after he lost his best players and one of the Wilde Bunch came out and said that we were no longer going for promotion effectively...and you blame Burley??? You have a shot at promotion every season, just as you have a chance of going down. The loss of the parachute money makes it harder but teams are going up without that cash. As part of this administration business wouldn't it be great if we could get rid of the negative, whinging, anti-Saints fans like Alpine? People like him just pull the club down with the negativity and knee-jerk reactionary stances. I am still not goingh t sing from the rooftops because I have no idea who is buying our club and what it all means, but I will hope for the best and wish them every success. The people like Alpine who wanted Lowe, Burley etc to fail in effect wanted the club to fail, and they got they way. The fact that he and his ilk still bat on about the past is very disturbing. Hopefully we have a future and a bright one at that, but even if we overturn the 10 points problem and get promotion you just know that dear old Alpine will still be whinging on about Lowe...LOL And whatever you think Alpine, the new regime will still have to get a Cup Final, European football, 10 years of Prem football and a highest ever prem finish in order to equal your nemesis's record....think they will manage that in your lifetime?
