  1. Jeez, some people still can't enjoy the fact that we have won three in three. Tell me again, how long did it take Pearson to win 3 matches and how long have you been telling us that was a huge loss? We do have some strange fans. You really do get the feeling some of them would have been happier if we had lost the last three games. Go figure.....
  2. Given that Wotte has managed in 3 games what Pearson took 13 to do, I think my spelling is not such a great deal do you Wes? I just feel for Um Pahars, his nephew and Alpine tonight, oh, and the club historian. They had all written off Wotte before he had warmed the head coaches chair. They must be gutted. Still a long way to go but despite his apparent dodgy hair, being Dutch and being despised by the players, he hasn't done too badly has he???
  3. At the end of the day, whatever Lowe does is "wrong", that is the law. Even when he gets things right someone else gets the credit. We are told he is not a "football man" yet he has been running this club longer than some posters here have been supporting the club. Like every other CEO/Chairman/Whatever he is, he makes decisions and like every other person he gets some wrong. Given the original financial situation I see the logic of off loading the high earners to help reduce the cost base. That means either playing the youth or brining in cheaper options. I also see the logic of brining in a coaching set up who are doing this already. In retrospect it would have been better to have uased Wotte and the first team coach and JP as his side kick. Sadly, amongst Lowe's others faults, he doesn't have a crystal ball. I am sure the Charlton fans wish their Board had a crystal ball too. Lowe's biggest job this season was to keep us out of administration and so far so good on that front. Yep, things are cr*p, but they could be a lot worse. If we manage to stay up and solvent he will have done okay this year. Even if he drops dead today, the new guy will have to work with the same constraints.
  4. Is this the same Jason Euell who many on here thought was a donkey and wanted him OUT of the club not so long ago??? But hey, let's not stop that using him as yet another stick to beat the management with. I take it you didn't read that article in The Independent about finances then Steve, or do you leave the more serious newspapers for your nephew to read???
  5. I am more postitive about saying up now than I was 2 games ago. Wotte seems to know what he is doing and those two wins were massive for us.
  6. You do have to laugh though don't you? Wotte was written off by many because - he is Dutch - his has funny hair - he was appointed by Lowe - take your pick. Early days yet but it took Pearson 13 matches to win three games so if Wotte manages better than that I expect to see him given hero status on here!!! Still a long way to go, but fair play to the bloke, so far so good. And to think, we were told how much he was despised at the club by the players!!!!!
  7. Foreign coaches are up against the same problems in the Premiership as they would be in the CCC. There is no reason why a foreign coach can't be successful in the CCC. Let us hope we have found one who can be! People don't work in isolation. At every club there are a team of people who are involved in bringing in new players etc.
  8. Well it is the old cliche of every match is a Cup Final now. I just hope they go for it and good luck to them. Tough match.
  9. Yes it would have been. By now it would have been a reasonable time to judge him at our club. Whether he could have done better with the resources available to JP and Wotte though we shall never know.
  10. Maybe, maybe not, we shall see in time. But I don't really see what his nationality has to do with it. Plenty of foreign coaches seem to be doing okay in the Premiership don't they?
  11. Awesome!!!
  12. My point about LM is that he succeeded here but not elsewhere. Perhaps Leicester and he are made for each other? maybe he would have done well here but on what he acheived in 13 matches I don't see why he is still seen as some lost genious.
  13. He has gone, move on. Do you still fret after your first playground love? McMenemy had that presence but is hated at Sunderland. Good luck to Pearson at Leicester but right now we need to get behind Wotte.
  14. Perhaps everyone on here who thinks it is a walk in the park running a club like SFC (I will never forget Um Pahars saying that his nephew could do it) should be forced to read this article every day for the next two weeks.
  15. LOL, touche. But I do wish these guys would shut up and save their mud slinging for when the season is over.
  16. The whole Fan On The Board thing I never got. Really, what was the point other than to say, look at us, we are so cool because we are letting a fan sit in on certain meetings. There is no point in sitting on a Board unless you can offer something other than a "presence." And there was always going to be a problem with who that fan was. Given the way that stuff gets spun on here from certain individuals, who could you trust to report back what was really being said and going on? Saints Trust? Bit of an oxymoron.
  17. It seems that adminstration threads are the new takeover threads! As before, I will believe it when the ink is dry on the paper......
  18. Spot on. It is the old If you ain't for us your agin us arguement. The usual suspsects constantly use the Lowe Luvvie jibe to drown out any reasoned arguements and to back up their own agendas. If you are not part of the lynch party get ready to get lynched yourself.
  19. Poor old Alpine, you are so deluded. If someone is now drowned in negative how does that make them "happy clappy". I am not the least bit happy about this season but I am not going to slit my wrists (or make others feel that they want to after reading your posts) becuse my football club is rubbish right now. You were spouting the same cr*p when we were fighting for a play off place mate. Get over yourself and get some therapy. I have seen much football this season (but I have seen more than Alpine) so I don't comment much about the team. I wasn't born in Southampton (Londoner) but I have been a Saints fan since 1966 (really through thick and thin) and I would like to think tha allows me to have an opnion about what is going on and voice that opinion here. Because I have seen good times and bad I'd like to think I have a balanced view on matters rather than the all is doom that some love to pedal. And do you what, at the end of the day it is just football. If you all you find in supporting this club is doom, negativity and anger, maybe you should do something else with your time?
  20. Stanley Out!!!
  21. I can't tell you where all of the many other clubs have gone wrong, but I bet their fans could.
  22. The third attempt to get Ted Bates' statue just right...
