If his "unique approach" as forced on us by financial constraints then what?
-
Alpine forsees doom and gloom every season. He even did it when we were in the play off fight. Oh, and I love it when people who do not have a clue what goes on behindclosed doors make these statements. From something concrete, the wage bill was unsustainable which meant if we had carried on as we were we would have been stuffed months ago.

Lets face it Delmary, in the very unlikley event us us getting promoted an winning the Premier League, the fans (or a fair proportion of them) will never get behind Lowe.
-
Ginge, apparently Have have to go and sit by a log fire and drink some wine with my lovely partner, so I will leave you with this. I didn't believe that Lowe would ever come back, but he has. I didn't want that to happen but it has. I would rather have someone esle here but they are not. Given a choice between Lowe and Cowen running the show and Loen Crouch I would prefer Lowe and Cowen. Come the end of the season I might well reget saying it but there you have it. If that makes me a Luvvie, a moron or whatever, the that's fine. But I for one just want to get behind the club and see it out of this mess. If you think a stroll through town and some heavy duty stuff on an interner chat board is going to make any difference to the situation, good luck to you mate. I just think it makes things worse.

Well everything was so wonderful under Crouch and McMenemy wasn't it so you must be right!
-
Yes actually I do think they give a toss about who makes the key financial decsions. Wouldn't you if it was your money? Wouldn't that make you a "moron" if you didn't?
-
Support him? Maybe I just don't rip everything he has ever done to shreds. Support or trying to be balanced. You decide. Not everything he has done has been cr*p. If it had been I'd probably be agreeing with you right now.
-
Because it was in the Echo it was true was it? Didn't occur to you that the story could have been planted. I didn't read it in that bastion of truth, the Echo, but I have read elsewhere from reasonably reliable sources that if Crouch had stayed the backers would have pulled the plug. I am not staking my life on it but I am sure it has just as much validity as something plnated in the Echo. Cast your mind back, didn't Wilde also give us the impression that he had money behind him when he took over???
-
I want to see the end to this bickering. Like Lowe or not he is in the driving seat and he has plan. We are stuck with Lowe and Wilde and Wotte until the end of the season probably. I would like to see them and the club given support. If we end up by staving off relegation and administration I think they should continue until a buyer is found. It saddens me but I think there are a lot of people who will be happy to see the club implode just because of their hatred of one man.
-
Lets see, so someone can come and and say Crouch had the backing of the bank and does not have to back it up and I do?
-
Yeah, cup final, 10 years in the top flight when most pundits thought we would go down, European football, some great young players from the academy, lovely new stadium the utter utter b*stard. It has all been a total disaster hasn't it?
-
Okay Ginge, I'll bite. Feel free and go and find the post where I nail my colours to Lowe's mast. In my book he is just a bloke doing a job. Since he has been here I have agreed with somethings and disagreed with others. Like most blokes doing a job I think he does what he thinks is right. Like most blokes doing a job what he thinks is right is not always seen as right by others. If that makes me a "Luvvie" sobeit if it makes you happy. So who are the others?
-
I don't do protest Ginge. If I don't like a decision I might have a moan but generally I support SFC and want the best for the club as a whole no matter who runs it. What gets up my bugle is the hypocracy. It just seems that if you name is Lowe it doesn't matter what you do are try to do you are damned, and in comparison, if anyone else ****s up that is okay because they are not Lowe.
-
I am old but not that old Ottery!!! So then, tell me, who are these Lowe Luvvies I hear tell about?
-
So ignore it then. Not hard is it?
-
Who did you hear that from? Crouch? For all of the marvellous things Leon did for us last year we were still 20 minutes from relegation.
-
That is what he says. I heard different but I didn't hear it direct from the bank, so who knows? What I would say is that you would not believe Lowe if he said that, so why believe Crouch?
-
Spot on. I think there are very few people here (if any at the moment) who qualify as being a "Lowe Luvvie" but it seems if you are not prepared to string him up from the nearest lamp post that is what you are. Go figure. I expect it was the same in the Middle Ages. If you tried to point out the lack of logic in the whole ducking stool debacle you were probably burnt at the stake for being a witch too!!!
-
Crouch made decisions which had an effect on the team, just as Lowe and other CEOs do.
-
Ginge mate, successful demonstration? Has Lowe resigned then?
-
You fall into the same trap. In what universe to you have to be only pro or anti anyone or anything to be taken seriously? Jeez, you peple. It is all about taking sides isn't it?
-
I am doing no such thing and please give me the respect of not assuming someone is my hero when they are not. Unlike many here I do not get hung up om personalities. You talk about deflection but that is what you are doing. The whole labelling of people that don't agree with your views as "Lowe Luvvies" deflects from the arguement. Its the whole "if you are for us your ag'in us" ethos. I am just curious as to the standards of the protesters here. Would be happier in this position if someone else was in charge???
-
You are missing the point Hypo, I am asking if we were in the same position despite Crouch doing whatever... I appreciate that you have a high opinion of Leon, but last season he too loaned out our better players, presided over an unsustainable wage bill and took us to the brink of relegation. I have also heard, and I don't know how true it is, that if he had stayed the club would have been in administration by now.

The days of me getting my leg up that high are long gone!!!
