Not impressed with Wotte "Fans are very easy with their judgement"
sadoldgit replied to St. Jason's topic in The Saints
Norwich have hit some form of late and Swansea are a decent side. A few weeks ago I would have expected us to lose both. At 2-0 down I didn't expect a point at Norwich. At 2-1 down against Swansea the same. With that kind of spirit you can turn draws into wins. If you still feel pessimistic that is your right. I don't, which is mine. -

You are spot on, it is a choice. I was listening to a guy on the Talksport phone in last night who stopped going to Pompey games when Harry went back out of principle. Things are now worse under Adams but he is philisophical about it and says he will still be going next season if they go down. We all have choices. Thousands of people stopped going when we were relegated. If we get relegated again I expect we will lose more off he gate. We were told before when Lowe went thousands would come flooding back. Didn't happen. Lowe or Crouch or someone else, I suspect the only way the gates will increase is for us to win more games. Lowe was never a problem when we were doing well in the Prem was he? Not loved true, but tolerated by most. I think you will find that if Crouch came back and we went down and stayed down he would soon turn into a hate figure too. -
Perhaps she should team up with Steve Godwin's nephew Ottery?

I don't know, I have had huge doubt about Crouch ever since his outburst against Woodward. I have also heard that the backers were not impressed, but again third hand stuff so who knows... What I do know is that we only stayed up by the skin of our teeth on the last day, not a direction I had much faith in. Who knows, if he and Pearson had stayed we may be higher now, we may also be in administration. We have what we have, for better or worse. -

LOwe employed a supposed "big name" in Redknapp and he did a fairly amateur job didn't he? Ottery, give the bloke a chance. I actually feel we have a real chance of staying up for the first time in ages. And if we do go down at least it looks like we will go down with all guns blazing, which is more than happened under good ol'Arry. -

I think he is commenting on what he knows, which is fare enough. As for unity under Lowe, was their unity under Wilde or unity under Crouch? To be honest I doubt if unity will exist again until all of these people have left the stage. -
As if anyone ouside the M27 corridor gives a stuff mate. No thats not true, the other clubs in the relegation battle are probably lapping it up!
-
Thinking that myself. If Lowe has any sense she gives him "advice"!!! Just wondering, if Lowe went to the trouble of taking down LMs picture, why is that sign for Lean and Lawrie still up?
-
So who did you hear??? Anyway, are we supposed to go into administation this week???

Ferguson and Clough are/were arrogant t*ssers too (plus Redknapp and many many others). If he acheives a fraction of what they have managed he can be as arrogant as he likes. I am not quite sure what the hair and scarf have to do with anything? Perhaps he should wear a flat cap and go greyhound racing on a Friday night to endear himself to the "working classes"?

When running any business you have to risk manage. If they had a three year plan, which by all accounts they do, that would include a plan to deal with relegation/promotion too, as both are financial "risks". This planning was evident when we were relegated. Lowe had a clause inserted in most contracts that cut players wages to CCC levels upon relegation. It is encumbent upon him and Cowen to have similat arrangements should we be relegated again. This is not "planning for failure" but it is doing a professional job in a business environment. Should Leon Crouch get back in it is something he would have to do too.

I'd like one of those too, but how has Wotte been an "abject failure"? WE have picked up 2 points when under JP we could well have lost both. We have scored 4 goals in two games and finally have a decent striker up front. Wotte shows signs of keeping us up. If nothing else we finally seem up for a fight. Perhaps we should judge him at the end of the season? -

I wasn't talking about the match, I was talking about here. Wotte has not been here 10 years and Lowe is his boss. He needs unity and probably can't understand the history, which is no surprise. -

You are right Nick, the old Alehouse team wouldn't last 5 minutes nowdays. Nor would Bremner's Leeds. In fcat most teams had a few hard men on their books, but we had more than most I think! The game is very different now and played by a different type of person. The likes of Savage and Barton are in the minority. The football of the 60's and 70's was played by real characters and was more enjoyable for that. Still, things move on... -

I wonder who mnay fans here could go on Dutch TV and give a decent interview in their language? Give the guy a break. He is right, Lowe wasn't here last year and we stayed up by the skin of our teeth. He hasn't had a bad start and by all accounts the team of showing more fight. This bloke is the key to us staying up, perhaps a bit of support is not amiss? -
Apparently Reading are offereing a coaching job to JP too.

Saints to blame for rise in domestic violence?

You know my ex-wife then??? -
We couldn't be much lower could we? But if we guarantee safety before the end of the season this year that would be a step forward would it not? Albeit not a huge one!
-
Well there is nothing you or I can do about that. He will not be here forever and at some point we will have another CEO to slag off.
-
Perhaps he was in the Boardroom replacing Lawrie's picture with their one of the train???

I would happily take that money to be badly treated week in week out. Why is it that football is so different to the real world? Okay, so footballers have short careers. There is not such thing for a job for life for anyone. What is stopping them from getting another job when this one finishes? With the ridiculour money many of them earn they could buy a house outright and not have to worry about a mortgage like the rest of us. These people get paid to do what most of us (when we are young and fit) happily do for nothing and good luck to them. If Skacel is being so badly treated here why didn't he go to Ipswich when had had the chance? Because of cash. He chose to stay and be treated badly rather than take a bit less money and be treated better elsewhere. Your choice Rudi mate. I would swap my situation with yours any day of the week.

I wonder is the RSPCA has any figures realting to pet abuse after Saints games? -
Let us not let Pearson's record at Leiceter blind us. Fair play to the bloke he is doing well in the 3rd tier. But he hardly set the world alight at SFC did he? If he had he would have presented Lowe with a harder choice. Of course, in hindsight, we can all see that he probably would have done a better job than JP, but at the time, with money being tight, a choice was made for a three year plan that was more cost effective (at that time). Pearson is not here any more, nor is Strachan or Hoddle. Time to move on.

But Boards don't get sacked, it is the lower orders who get kicked out. JP was the manager of choice and JP didn't work out. Another choice has been made and for all our sakes we can only hope that this will turn out better. To be fair to Lowe not all of his choices have been awful, but they can only be judged in hindsight. We are no different to any other club in that respect. Take a look at Charlton, a decilne quicker than ours. Who goes there? The manager of course, not the board.
