Who else in the team would be a good captain ? or is the percieved role of a captain out of date in modern football ? Not sure a hear any mention of captain during match commentry , apart from may be interaction with the ref as spokesman but any player nstill gets in the refs ear !

Real seem to get away with numerous tackles as well as shoving Grealish into the ad hoardings in the first half . Carvajal eventualy got a yellow card for a really bad tackle at the end of the first half but nothing for shoving Grealish , probably because he went down himself to make out he was shoved as well !

They have no money thanks to the tories , starting with Thatcher onwards . First the BBC had to absorb World Service costs that were paid by the foreign office to promote the UK as part of the Empire . Then they froze the licence fee and to cap it all they made the BBC pay the cost of free licences for over 75 year olds that was paid by the DWP as a benefit . The right wing press has slagged the BBC off at each of these policy changes ! Women's football was all the BBC can afford but FIFA want more cash after sports washing regimes have been dropped out after protest by the Women’s football teams .

As with most of our players that move on I feel good if they do well at their new club . Of course if they leave with bad grace then it takes a few seasons to get over it ! It does piss me off when their Saints part of their career seems to be expunged from their record when they do well at their new club , Mane comes to mind on that score .

We don’t know if he is just following orders , if he did want to move the ball forward quickly there is often no one available . The front players have long since given up making runs or even being in the final third . I think most players would give up , see Man U before Ten Hag and even after he started.

This has been the ‘modern’ coaching normal , see England for advice ! It only works if you have the second part which is players capable of converting that possession to quick forward attacking movement as per Man C , Real etc

I remember well the last game of the season when we were staying up at half time and then bottom of the league at full time , a bitter end . I know we are going down but it will still be a numbing experience when it is confirmed .

Yes the media go bonkers if some film actors are involved with 'normal people' , it remains to be seen how long they last when the bills start to roll in at a higher level .

He had a good spell with a new more aggressive approach and we enjoyed Zaha being nullified . He suffered a bit as the team went into slow decline and missed out on an England place so that was probably his last chance . Like most players he would look better in a more positive going forward team . JWP is JWP he's not some shouty , pointy , in yer face bloke .

Ralph was f*cked mentally at the end , he would have plodded on like Selles until he was booted out .

But if Saints managed to cling on in the Prem this season would that be a good thing or would it mean another season of pain for fans ?

It looked like Ralph had run out of ideas , was floundering and wanted to go before he lost the will to live . Lack of a striker last summer was the writing on his wall .

After a good start at Bayern he stopped scoring , went to WC and missed it due to injury and has struggled for form since his return to the team . Seems he had a beef with Sane about a passage of play !
