I suppose the situation is we are using VVD as a carrot to get the best deal for the club. Options: (1) Arsenal bid 50m plus Walcott or Lazzette (We've got funds for another exciting player) (2) Chelsea bid 50m plus Remy (Got funds for another exciting player) (3) Liverpool offer 70m (Gives us the extra money to purchases two great players elsewhere) (4) Purchasing the one/two great players we want elsewhere is proving difficult so do I sell VVD to Chelsea/Arsenal/Liverpool as the fans won't be happy. (5) Let's keep VVD and hope he does not continue to sulk and strike and let's get that cheap striker/winger in. Basically - VVD goes we get two players in. If he stays we buy a cheapish striker/winger.

Does anyone at the club score goals anymore?

I reckon it's all about a player going to there and one going here before ours comes here. Oxy to Chelsea? Costa to Ath Madrid? Someone from there to us?

A good strikers will always score goals. Watch Chris Woods for Burnley today and compare it with the chance Long had on Saturday. Long tapped it past the last defender and tried to out muscle him with his speed but conceded a foul. Woods, Mane, Pelle, (Name a hundred other strikers) use skill to get past defenders before calmly slotting it in.

Watford are pretty good going forward and I can see them scoring at least once. That puts us under pressure to score one for the draw which I can't see happening.

Puzzling what we are trying to achieve as a football team. So many defence passing, lack of overlapping with the wing backs plus no sharp triangular passes to carve into the Huddersfield defence. At least under Puel we played some attractive football unlike this pile of ****e.

With Tom stating that VVD is 100% going then I predict the following: VVD goes to Chelsea with Christensen and Remy coming our way on loan for the season. Clasie out with Long going too. Now that would set us up for a bloody good season.

It's strange that so many of our strikers are out on loan. Did they not forget to keep one to score goals in the under 23's?

I'm impressed with VVD so far.

The reason why our academy is amazing is because we produce outstanding talent every now and again. Bale, Theo, Oxy and Shaw have lifted the profile but since then nothing special. More about living on its repretation.

Beginning to think we should finally get rid of VVD and splash big on a top striker/winger. Don't seem to have that exciting fast player like Mane, Pahars or Rodney Wallace anymore.

Just realized that our last three major signings have all been from Italy. Wouhd that suggest the next one will be from there or does Pellegrino bring in a striker/winger that he might know?
