Not having Lavia/Romeu next to him has probably affected his game to a degree but overall I agree. He doesn't drive the team forward, isn't a progressive passer and is very slow for a central midfielder. I don't see him pulling the team together when we concede - as you say, he just drops his head like nothing has happened.
-
His body language has been awful for a while now
-
That's how I read it

You don't think someone decent would snap Salisu up? Ok he isn't great on the ball yet but he's still very young for a centre back and is actually very good at defending. He has bags of potential. In the last two games AMN has looked good and Arsenal fans seem to rate him. Tino and Bazunu would go to Premier League teams and West Ham & Villa both wanted DCC so no doubt he would as well.

Hasenhüttl: “You have to accept that we will have 10-15 defeats per season. If it is at the beginning, middle or end, it's not such a big difference. It will happen because the teams are very strong and even if you do things very well you can still lose a game.” You've just gotta love this clubs mentality. Losing is widely accepted from top to bottom. Happy days.

Semmens really has talked us down hasn't he 😂

Saints 1-4 Newcastle - Match Thread
Harry_SFC replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Who knows, seems like he has a weird agenda against him. I did some work for Eddie a few years ago and he came across as a really sound bloke. Would 100% take him over Ralph, that's for sure. -

Bazunu; AMN, Caleta-Car, Salisu, Perraud; Lavia, JWP; S.Armstrong, Aribo; Mara, Adams. Might as well give Mara a crack from the start as nothing else is really working. Post world cup with hopefully everyone fit and available I'd like to see us play a 4-3-3: Bazunu; KWP, ABK, Salisu, Perraud; Lavia, AMN, JWP; Aribo, S.Armstrong/New Signing, Adams. -
Very good post
-
Payne definitely has something about him. Looks like a solid attack minded right back.
-
Due to our poor set up and lack of genuine creativity, a striker needs to be able to make chances for himself to be successful in this team. Broja did that a couple of times last season but he only scored 6 goals in 32 games. Although given Aribos second half yesterday, I do think he can be a creator in this side (Ralph finally played him in his best position)
-
Adams has missed 7 big chances this season, the same amount as Haaland and Mitrovic and less than Jesus, Toney and Watkins for example. All of those players have had more chances than Adams. So saintant's point does hold some weight. Clearly his finishing is poor but we also need to create more overall. Brighton seem to be scoring goals from all over the pitch. If Adams doesn't score then the chances are we're not going to.
-
He is certainly a better finisher than Che, there is no doubt about that. He's also a better player than Adam Armstrong.
-
Edouard.. the guy who won Palace the game yesterday and seems to be scoring goals?
-
I obviously understand the striker argument but we don't have an identity anymore, can barely string 3 passes together and the team totally lacks confidence. That is down to manager.
-
Exactly. His performance against Arsenal was a rarity and probably won't be seen again for 9 or 10 games. At the end of the day he's a Championship level player. Much like Adam Armstrong..
-
We have missed chances but we've also been very poor. It's not like we've had bad results but looked a decent side. Poor against Spurs, Man City, Villa, Wolves, Everton, West Ham, Bournemouth and Palace. We were awful against Leeds for 45 minutes as well.
-
Or Diallo would pass it out of play. the list goes on....
-
After the world cup we have what looks like quite a "nice" run of games. There is no way he can still be in charge of the team for those matches.
-
Something which he has never, ever done. Always throws a player under the bus.
-
Expecting two more defeats before the world cup. I'd like to think the club have someone lined up to replace him after the Liverpool game. Just hoping SR have the balls to take the decision out of Semmens hands.
-
Thought AMN changed the game. Should've started or at least been brought on after 20 mins. Half time was too late to change it.
-
It's probably on par with Villa. Isn't worse but can't exactly say it's been any better. Ralph has got this all wrong so far.
-
This is why I think we could do well in a 4-3-3. Sit deep and play Edozie for his pace on the counter, if he isn't great at tracking then that extra man in midfield can help out. According their fans they are useless against sides that defend deep.

A loan with a view to buying him when KWP leaves next summer...
