KWP has done his hamstring and will be out for a while. Excellent. The amount of hamstring injuries we've suffered this season is absolutely crazy.
-
No it's not and we've conceded 17 goals and scored 3 in the process. Although the cup should be the priority, I still think it's important that we try and beat last season's points tally and finish as high as possible for income reasons.
-
Another important game, this time in the league. You'd expect Wolves to revert to their usual side with Traore, Neto, Coady etc coming back in. Hopefully the win tonight puts us on the front foot and we must've gained a lot of confidence from the all round performance. I'd stick with the same back 5 personally, especially after a rare clean sheet. I suppose the main arguments are does Vestergaard come back in for Salisu and does Forster keep his place? Forster; KWP, Bednarek, Salisu, Bertrand; Romeu, JWP; Armstrong, Minamino; Adams, Ings. Subs: McCarthy, Stephens, Vestergaard, Chauke, Finnigan, Djenepo, Redmond, Tella, N'Lundulu.
-
Bertrand was very good tonight. For me we have to get a new contract agreed ASAP. He's been a great servant and can still play at the highest level. Would certainly make more sense giving Bertrand a 2/3 year deal than it did Shane Long.
-
Apart from one poor moment he looked very good in my eyes. Calm on the ball, quick, strong and barely lost a header. He'll have tougher games but you can't ask much more than that after 6 months out.
-
Stephens cannot play at full back. Traore and/or Neto would rip him to shreds.
-
Forster, KWP, Salisu, Vestergaard, Bertrand, Romeu, JWP, Djenepo, Armstrong, Adams, Ings. Subs: McCarthy, Stephens, Bednarek, Finnigan, Chauke, Watts, Redmond, Tella, N'Lundulu.
-
As good as Romeu is off the ball he is a liability on it, especially when the opposition lose a man as he moves the ball far too slowly. The same goes for Stephens - he is diabolical at passing. Diallo seems to move it a lot quicker and should be Prowsey's partner when fit. Ings is a shadow of his former self and Redmond is like a rabbit on the headlights. Positives were Vestergaard and Minamino but that's about it really.

Based on Ralph's press conference I'm hoping it'll be this.. McCarthy, KWP, Bednarek, Stephens, Bertrand, Romeu, JWP, Redmond, Minamino, Adams, Ings. Subs: Forster, Ramsay, Vestergaard, Ferry, Finnigan, Chauke, Watts, Djenepo, N'Lundulu. Shame Armstrong is out but he'd have needed a rest soon anyway. I doubt he'll put Vestergaard straight back in after 1 day of training but hopefully he'll start on Tuesday night.
-
If Bednarek is suspended i'd go for: McCarthy; Ramsay, Stephens, Bertrand; Djenepo, Armstrong, JWP, Minamino, Redmond; Adams, Ings. 3-5-2. I doubt Ralph will change formation but I think it's the best option with the players we have available. JWP sitting in front of the back 3 with Stu and Minamino infront of him. I think Redmond could do a decent job at wing back considering he seems to love going backwards!

Have we been unlucky with ref/VAR decisions in the previous 4 games.

People say the technology is "100% factual". Well it's not is it because Graham Scott has drawn the lines in the wrong position! -
Yes, there are a couple of things Ralph could have done last night to stem the goals conceded. Does that make him a bad manager? Not at all. He must stay at all costs.
-
He doesn't look great at defending in the Under 23's, let alone the premier league.
-
The problem is, we don't currently have the money to sign a proper full back. We need a versatile player to help us until the end of the season at least. AMN would fit the bill IMO. I can't see Josh King wanting to join us when he can join who he wants in the summer but he would certainly be an upgrade on Shane Long. I also don't think we need Billy Gilmour, especially if we manage to get AMN. Jankewitz should be given a chance now whilst Diallo is out.
-
I'm not really a fan of Redmond and generally agree with you, but thought he was better tonight than he has been, fair enough if you disagree. Our wide players (with the exception of Armstrong) have very little end product.
-
I'm not concerned about Jankewitz. Both times he's come off the bench I've liked the look of him. Right back is the main concern. Unless we sign someone then it'll have to be Valery. In terms of going forward, I actually thought Redmond had a decent ish game tonight. Certainly better than Walcott. McCarthy; Valery, Bednarek, Stephens, Bertrand; Jankewitz/Romeu, JWP; Armstrong, Redmond; Ings, Adams.
-
I agree. He's had a few good games but has been very average lately.
-
Of course the composition is wrong. Everyone, including Ralph, knows we are short at full back. I'd rather not move anyone out of their usual position either but do you think we'd be stronger with Diallo/ JWP at right back with the other partnering Romeu or stronger with Valery at right back who has proven he is a liability and cannot defend in the premier league?
-
Everyone was pretty poor apart from Diallo and Armstrong. Ings spends more time throwing his arms around than anything else. The less said about Stephens the better.
-
I'd go for this if KWP is out.. McCarthy, Diallo, Bednarek, Stephens, Bertrand; Romeu, JWP, Armstrong, Redmond; Adams, Ings. If KWP is back I'd play Diallo instead of Redmond in the No.10 position.
-
I agree - I think he is dynamic enough to play there. Against the better teams I would be tempted to give it a go as he keeps the ball better than Armstrong.
-
I don't know why everyone got their knickers in a twist because it was pretty obvious this was the issue with what LeG has said on numerous occasions. Glad MS has cleared it up for those who were dying to know.
-
Diallo is better in possession and playing on the half turn but Romeu is stronger and better in the air. I think they are both very good players and Diallo deserves to keep his place until he has a poor run of form.
-
I'd rather he left on a free next summer than for us to sell him to Spurs for £15 million!
