  1. There is a really good reason for them to set up a legal route, all we have heard from the UK Government for the last year is 'stop the boats' opening a legal route to apply for asylum without crossing the channel in a small boat would be huge step to achieving this goal unlike this weird Rwanda mess. The PM has said repeatedly h wants to stop the criminal gangs and the risk/loss of life if he really means that then he would open a processing centre in France (The French government have said they would agree to this) but actually being the dishonest scumbag that he is he just keeps wasting money on other things and making loads of noise while not actually doing anything to 'stop the boats' or process the massive backlog of application already in the UK. Anyone would think the government don't actually want to fix the problem, maybe it's convenient for something oooh quick look over there while I steal all your cookies and ram loads of legislation designed to undermine the rights of UK citizens and the rule of law.......
  2. You said they have a choice which if they wish to claim asylum in the UK they don’t. As has been asked many times in many forums including parliament name the legal routes by which they can come to the UK and claim asylum? which is a right under the treaties we signed up to. I get that you think they should claim asylum as soon as they are in a safe country but there is no legal obligation on them to do so if you wish that to be the case campaign for a law change.
  3. It is a simple bait and switch move by the government, this distract you with the terrible immigrants who might steal your cookies while in reality they have already stolen most of the cookies, it is a trick as old as time and sadly still as effective today as it was 100 years ago!
  4. Ignoring the fact that the international refugee convention we are members of allows travel through a safe country to the place you wish to claim asylum. If you disagree with the rules fair enough but don't make them up, the simple facts are the British Government only allows you to apply for asylum once you are on British soil and for a small number of asylum seekers that means the only option to apply for asylum in the UK is to cross the channel in small boats. People have a myriad of reasons for choosing to come to the UK but as you point out more choose to apply in France/Germany/etc rather than risk the boat crossing, these countries do however process applications much quicker than us, reject more applications than us and also deport more failed applicants than us. If stopping the boats is the issue (which the government keeps saying it is) then the fix is easy open a processing centre in France and process applications without the need to cross the channel, if the issue is stopping foreign people coming here then stop other forms of migration that result in much higher numbers than the small boat arrivals and be prepared for the massive rise in costs and drop in service levels that closing up shop would result in. Immigration is an emotive issue and the current government are just using it as a dog whistle to cover up the huge sums of money they are effectively stealing from the public purse and giving to their already rich mates, we have the most corrupt government in living memory and all the papers are talking about is Rwanda this small boats that it is almost the perfect crime!
  5. First you need to define what you mean by 'illegal immigration' as it seems you are using the term incorrectly, people arriving by small boat are not classed as illegal immigrants from the moment they apply for asylum, an asylum seeker cannot be an illegal immigrant as they are part of our legal immigration program. Arriving by boat small boat is a problem but then we don't offer any other legal means by which people can apply for Asylum so leave these people with no choice. The financial cost to the UK of housing asylum seekers is because we simply don't process them in a timely manner, other counties manage to process many more than we do and they also reject and deport more cases than we do. The small boats/illegal migrant bogey man is a creation of the Tory party and the right wing media to supply a suitable 'other' for them to blame for all our woes while the rich rob us blind and the really sad thing is it has sucked so many people in. Small boats shouldn't even be in the top ten of things on the governments agenda but they are getting away with wasting huge amounts of time and money on it because they have conned enough of the electorate into believing it is 'the problem'.
  6. Got to agree with this, the amount of possession we have had in most games this season should see there pressing player run themselves into the ground giving us plenty of opportunities in the last quarter provided we don’t gift them anything early.
  7. Neil McCan’t he was dire!

    Elon Musk

Won’t happen as it is effectively owned by Saudi (they fronted the cash for Elon) so there is no way it goes under anytime soon. They might fire old Musky though and install a CEO who isn’t quite such a ‘character’

    Injury Watch

Why are biggest signing this summer was a player with a serious injury I have no idea, have we signed another Delgado? Surely the manager will be begging for another forward signing in January?
  10. I’ve always felt Stephen’s is the better player but like you I wouldn’t be keen to break up the centre backs if only he could fill the glaring hole at left back! hoping for a result but not hopeful, probably another 90 minutes of tippy tappy football and either concede or score in injury time to end up with a draw.
  11. Starting with proving his fitness sooner rather than later! Right now he’s utterly useless and not even the best striker at the club!
  12. Billy is at a loose end now the mls season is over …

    Ruben Selles

There is no manager alive or dead that would have done well at reading this season Selles was a cheap option and a convenient fall guy for the failings of the club. still a crap manager they would have been better off with Jones!

    Alladyce

Get them both as a ‘dream’ team! Worryingly I’m convinced either of them would significantly improve our team in a week even though they are football dinosaurs!
  15. Best we can possibly hope for this season is play offs. The turn round could start quite simply by RM admitting his tactics and methods don’t work and picking out best 11 players in their best position and sending them out with a rocket up there backsides. it won’t happen we will continue to play tippy tappy crap and defend like a bunch of church mice as RM has nailed his colours to that flag pole and definitely isn’t for turning. So in reality the only way this gets better before next weekend is if the board find there balls and give him the boot today again it’s not going to happen they showed us last season that they like to stick with their mistakes until it becomes utterly impossible to resist the pressure to get them out.
  16. Like the moon landing it was all faked of course, if you look closely you can see the wires on the puppet planes as they crash into that incredibly poorly made model set (probably left over from some 50’s B movie) lol
  17. Exactly the genius of the ‘but I’m alright’ argument still doing the rounds three years later is unbelievable. It’s amazing how quickly people forget the scenes in northern Italy when the first wave hit.
  18. I don’t understand your point, are you saying that had we simply let the first wave of covid rip all would have been fine an dandy accept a few dead old people who were already on th way out anyway? Or do you have something constructive and evidence backed to offer?
  19. I’d say Tom Cruise has significant mental health problems as do many professionals who actually know what mental health problems look like.
  20. Well deserved it is about time the officials clamped down on this kind of stuff, hopefully we wilL see a drop in the level of childish petulance in top level football.
  21. He’s had a great career with Fulham since leaving us I always thought we let him go too soon.
  22. It’s not an opinion though is it it is an addiction to lies and conspiracy and an ongoing quest online for recognition and affirmation of those beliefs his continuing quest for the sky monkeys ruling the world is an addiction hence he gets more ridiculous by the day. Say what you like from where I’m sat he has a serious mental health condition and his friends and family should help him. an opinion would be to say pineapple is acceptable on a pizza (it’s not but anyway) not saying something as utterly ridiculous as the twin towers was a controlled demolition. Some mentally I’ll people hear voices others see conspiracy everywhere they look.
  23. Ummm plenty of those with COVID would have died from COVID the totally destroyed health service and other critical services would have also killed plenty hence pretty much every country in the world had lockdowns.
  24. If it was a family member of mine who’d gone that far down the rabbit hole I would be suggesting they look at serious mental health treatment and getting them to withdraw from public life ie twitter etc as it clearly just feeds the addiction. To me the conspiracy nut is just another addict who needs treating. I have no problem with people holding different opinions and I’m not advocating I cancel him or that society does I’m advocating that those that know and love him give him the helP and support he clearly needs to come back to the real world. If he was drinking or gambling all day long you would say he needs help this conspiracy wormhole is basically the same thing just a different addiction.
  25. How after all this time are we still having this debate? You realise that unchecked the first wave of covid would have overwhelmed our health service with those requiring treatment and resulted in thousands of unnecessary deaths both from COVID and other normally survivable conditions as the the NHS crumbled? Back to MLT his demise has been remarkable he seems to have disappeared so far down the rabbit hole there is no way back. Those close to him really should intervene for his own good and force him to withdraw from public life and seek help.
