  1. Doesn't play at the back but otherwise obviously a hugely well thought out comparison! Lets be honest though left back is the least of our worries we need someone who takes his chances better than any of the current strikers and if Jones is staying then he needs to be a 6ft2 tank!
  2. And his entire managerial CV he is a crap manager who had some success in the lower leagues playing hoof ball with Luton he has already found his level and we have now promoted him well above it. Anyone who picks Lyanco ahead of the two other centre halves in the match day squad knows nothing about football!
  3. So as predicted Jones has us playing hoof ball with a striker who is about of much of an aerial threat as an old lady in a wheel chair. Everyone said his style didn’t suit the club/squad and he would be massively out of his depth and low and behold it comes true. Cheap badly planned option yet again from saints and we must be odds on for the drop now!
  4. Agree with this, the thing we haven’t done is replace Ings we always look a better team when we have a proper goal scorer it’s been the case since promotion and when we haven’t had a top draw forward we look a bit pants!
  5. Big personality, have you seen the man interviewed?
  6. I'd say no, he lacks experience and his teams don't play a style of football that is going to get results in the Premier League he reminds me of Billy Davies. Watching his mannerisms in interviews concerns me as well he doesn't exactly exude calm confidence! If he gets the job I will support him like I did back when Sturrock and Wigley got the job but I really think we could do better.
  7. Sadly he’s not coming here!
  8. Still trying to work out what happens if the player says no or has he also agreed a contract with city to go back!
  9. The flag wasn’t flown at half mast because the Royal Standard never is and the queen was in residence, you will note that today the royal standard was at full height when Charles arrived. The queen had to leave Buckingham palace so they could take down the royal standard and replace it with the union flag at half mast. It was simple traditional protocol and no intended slight the British people are just dumb at times.
  10. The perfect example in this category for me, Redmond is a decent footballer who has and continues to do a job for us. Every now and then he has a good spell or a bad spell and is never going to move up the football pyramid but is probably too good to for the tier below. I think a lot of fans these days seem to forget that as a club we need some average players. Those that stay around and give us consistency as a team over a number of years like the Benali’s and Telfers of days gone by! Not convinced by those including Jason Dodd as an average player give him a yard more pace and take Gary Neville out of the picture and he would have had England caps!
  11. I’ve always wondered what happens if the player doesn’t want to go to the club with the buy back clause? You can’t force Someone to sign a contract or is that all agreed upfront with the player as well As the clubs?
  12. I think it’s pretty clear already we got a steal on this one, he looks good enough that I can see city actually using the buy back clause!
  13. The World Cup this year changes things the league shuts down in a couple of months and then the window is open again so we will have another opportunity to bring in cover. all in this has been a great window for us, lots of talent in and no significant departures. The likes of redmond and Walcott were never leaving so no disappointment for me there. A decent forward as cover/competition for che would have been the icing on the cake but they are never easy to get.
  14. He’s an FC not an SC (filling in for MLG)
  15. And no signings we haven’t seen this since the heady days of skacel, del Pedro and bierhoff!
  16. Nope nothing actually confirmed yet! Maybe they are going for a massive unveiling video with them all doing a drunken conga down the tunnel and out onto the pitch at St Mary’s!
  17. I don’t think anyone is saying it is built around Ralph’s style (does he actually have one?) what people are saying is it doesn’t suit Dyche’s style and I’ve yet to see anyone put forward a convincing argument that either our current squad could play in the same style as Dyche’s successful period at Burnley or present any evidence of him achieving success with a more progressive style. Anyone coming in needs to be able to get results with the players already here so brining in a manager who’s best season have been playing a physical direct style would be beyond stupid!
  18. It’s nothing to do with ‘our style’ which lets be honest has always been a stupid line. The big problem with bringing in a manager like Dyche is we don’t have the players to play his way all his success on a budget at Burnley relied on big strong defenders, big strong strikers and being polite a ‘direct style’ looking at our current squad we lack the necessary players. If we are to replace Ralf we need a technical manager who wants the team to play football. Preferably one who can improve the defence and knows about an amazing striker in Madagascar that nobody else has heard of!
  19. And Forster was our best keeper last year by some distance! The new lad will be pretty dire if he isn’t an improvement! My biggest concern is lack of fire power we need to recruit more upfront otherwise relegation looks to be a serious risk.
  20. No they don’t it says nothing of the sort in the refugee treaties we signed up to. Otherwise no major country in Europe would receive more than a handful of refugee’s and counties that boarder unstable areas would be crushed under the weight. Yet another lie spread by our crappy media.
  21. No1 spot is hardly a glowing reference or are McCarthy and Forster key just because they happen to start most weeks as they are adequate and we don’t have a better option!
  22. How was he key to our rise? Ridiculous sentimentality! He chose first team football over the bench do you really think he would have turned down West Ham’s number 1 spot?
  23. He was an average championship keeper we could have replaced with dozens of others, look how quickly he disappeared once we got to the top flight. He chose well paid first team football with us over a similarly well played bench role with West Ham whoop de do. I’ll never understand the weird status he holds.
  24. Key player lol, he was an average championship keeper at his best people just give him loads of credit for hanging around when we were poo. He was shocking that day and giving the fans the bird for getting on his back when they’d texted that far to watch the team was ridiculous I would happily have seen him transfer listed and never put the shirt on again.
  25. Kelvin was awful that day in one of the worst saints displays I’ve ever seen he stood out for all the wrong reasons. The goals were incredibly soft and when the fans gave him stick he gave us the bird. I never rated him as a keeper and still haven’t forgiven him for that attitude moment. Back on topic I would love to see Delap here but record transfer fee’s for youth prospects is a gamble to far for me. If we are talking mega bucks it should be a loan with an option otherwise we could easily be stuck with a crazy expensive asset on high wages we can’t shift for 5 years.
