I think some posters should sit back and realise not all on here are adults, but perhaps just Saints fans in the school holidays. All pertinent, but even with more 1player in, we seem to be a weaker team than we finished last season, but with a lot more games to play. I can only assume that the club believe that putting our youth players in we will be able to cope. Listening to VVD's tone in his interview yesterday, it sounded pretty frustrated and I wonder if he regrets signing the longer contract and will want to be out of the project come January. He has his career to think about and so doubt he wants to waste it slumming round the lower reaches of the league and not progressing I cup competitions. Having to nursemaid the youth players cannot be much fun and also be frustrating.

Defoe is still a superb forward who makes something from nothing, although Jose made a bit mistake. I heard that Targett was very close to scoring with a fee kick but it was not shown

Yes Oldknow may have been at the club pre Liebherr, but he was also talking to MLT consortuium lol. Your dislike of NC is pretty obvious but whatever you may like to think NC had ML ear and it was him who pushed us under the nose of Marcus. Oldknow was allowed to leave whilst ML was in the background if my memory serves me correctly. I suggest he thought more of NC than anyone else at our club. You might not like it but ML trusted him. I have no gripe with Oldknow btw

Im sure he was not the nicest person, but forget not his idea of putting the club under the noses of the Liebherrs got us to where we are. No SISA, no MLT consortium etc I think instead of listening to bitter people wanting to pull him down perhaps Marcus Liebherrs drive when he was near his passing away to go and deliver the watch shows how the great man thought of him. For me that is a testament to NC. If only Marcus could have survived another 10 years and the dream of CL football and even the PL may have come true. Im sure he would have grasped the opportunity to invest in the team if we had looked like making the CL

when Liverpool are in the mood they do play quick insisive football. They deserve to be winning, as much as i dislike them you have to appreciate their skill and movement up front. The back a bit comical. In time we will get used to our players at the top clubs but it does hurt to see our past stars contributing to these games.

thats all fine as long as we do get players in. None of us know what the numbers will be until the window closes but it does seem odd that we sell unfashionable quickly without having the replacement with the pen at the ready to sign for us. It is sad that one f the new ones looks to have a bad injury (fingers crossed not) and so we have not gone forward but a half step back. I assume that Les and Co. have got all the players lined up and others doing the work if he is at the cup draw
