yes, it is a shame Austin has not been fit for us
-
its about time clubs started to look at Eddie Howe, what a superb manager for a team like us or Everton.
-
I was only 3 then 1963) but I can recall waving my dad off at the station that day as he went by train. Obviously it is a very sketchy memory
-
shes so special, she works and brings up her child. Just let her try to take anything they ban in US customs and see how she is treated there
-
watching it on TV reminded me of the bad days when our club was tearing itself apart. They have to be careful or they could end up going straight down again.
-
we were y far the better side and it was a travesty. Southall,s keeping and how the ref let Andy gray get away with constant fouling lord knows, Then that little runt Heath scored a lucky header
-
I was gutted for weeks after and was on business and Steve Williams was there and we chatted about things and then got around to football , Keegan,Saints and the Semi final, I chirped 'yeah Lawrie should never have played Williams as he was injured' lol. Ooops, he was fine about it and saw my embarrassment, He giggled a bit and next time I saw him he made an effort to come and say hello
-
Now Everton fans from that time can feel what many of us felt and still do all those years ago. Last minute loss in a semi final. Watching nearly 50 years of following Saints that day was the worst, No relegation or loss ever felt the same or lived with me like that day.

Congratulations to Pompey as their manager said it was a massive achievement them making the play-offs. He also said that they have to live with the cards they have been dealt this season. Did he not build the squad then?
-
I can't see him going to apologise, he could take a full page out to n the Echo to do so like he did when he left. No doubt it would be a picture of himself celebrating a Liverpool goal or berating the ref when we got a penalty against them
-
its not about him leaving for more money or a bigger club, but it was the way he left. No class. I really hope he doesn't turn up and the fans soften towards him. if I recall correctly Shearer came back for a testimonial and didn't get the best reception
-
Sorry I can't work our how to do a link on my iPad but search for Beryl Reid and most would know of her
-
I think the emotion and fatique cost us. They did have the advantage of some of our forwards coming off and the arrival of the ringer that gave them energy (well Fordy directed things and pulled the strings) our defence then were up against it
-
Don't worry a lot of them had the skills of Beryl Reid.
-
Chinese suit you cheeky git, the bloke on Kingsland market assured me it had flown over Milan on its way from Kurdistan. As for your version of the event, the game has to stop to bring a sub on. I didn't notice you change the team around, but I think you will find that it was not tactical nous it was a case Fordy came on who was obviously a higher standard than the rest on offer. I would have changed things but after all, my players rightly said ' I effin paid to play 90 minutes as ( enter the position here)and so f-off I m staying where I am'
-
their appearances at Wembley are about the same as appearances at the high court or administrations

Hey BP just watched a lot of those clips again and forgot what a blinder you played :). I remember the other keeper Bananaman? was sweeping, pulling off worldies and made the difference. Only kidding, i remember you being pretty good at taking goal kicks and coming to take the ball out of the net, at least our team became pretty well rehearsed kicking off lol. Only teasing, you did well the same as the rest of our team.
-
Im sorry to hear that, I didnt noticed it impair your performance though, very consistent with the first one:) . There were quite a few injuries in both games, but most liked to carry on playing, like yourself. The ref who sent me off was a bit serious but i didnt realise he had threatened to abandon the game! You hardly had a strop and pointed your finger in his face. Funnily enough he didnt want to send me off as he would have to make a report lol. They even sent stewards down after they had been told there was a sending off!!! The9 did get a right kicking by Hamster, right in front of me it was and the9 was lucky he was not badly injured. It was not malicious just badly timed. I hope your foot has recovered and will be ready for the next game.
-
I dont agree Steve. Both were good competitive games, of course the first may seem better to you as you were on the winning side (by dubaious means of course lol) It was great that you took the trouble to arrange things and i doubt there are many who watched and played did not thoroughly enjoy. I hope you do it again whether Iam involved or not and would recommend to all. i met a few who disagreed with me over the years but all turned out to be great lads
-
that would be superb but I think the9 has his eye on that job. I of course would be serving a touchline ban for being sent off last time.(you can find it somewhere on youtube) I think I might play for 45 minutes after seeing the quality on show before.lol I may as well waddle around like most of the others. Dave Ford played a cameo role in the first game and to be fair was a cut above everyone else(don't tell him I said that, as I tried not to be impressed)another ringer that Dubai Phil threw in as another of his devilish tricks. Thankfully justice was done in the 2nd game. If this does go ahead, I would recommend to any others on here to join in as not only is it great to meet the people on here you have a great laugh. If I do play I don't want to be in Phils team as his team talk goes on for 2 hours and after his reminiscence of Ryder cups and his other golf stories it is time to kick off. Oh I would be manager again if there was no other wanting to do it, but playing might show the youngsters on here up a bit,.......how about a walking match then all the old boys on here could play as well. Will be great us meeting again, some old and new faces and even some who don't post on here anymore like Justmike, Hamster,SaintDonkey etc

Can somebody tell me how Dave Watson is seen as such a fantastic keeping coach. Forster came from Celtic after playing some superb games in the League and CL, I have not seen Gazza improve and Stek also. KD was at the end of his career. I watched DW on the pitch and as far as I could see was that he spent more time flicking his dyed hair out of his eyes rather than actually coach, not a speck of mud on his kit at all. If KD follows hm I suspect he has the hardened resolve and dedication to our club to make any keeper work hard to improve. It was interesting watching Carragher talking about how Liverpool miss the old pros at the club instilling the pride and what the club means to new players. My understanding is that KD does that now and the link is not lost

I do understand the fans pouring scorn on the fans showing concern about the chance of the spine of the team again being torn away. it has not happened as yet and of course we have survived the last 2 summers of the same happening. I do have concerns about the complacency shown by many in their replies,do you all really believe this can happen year on year and we can still do well? Add to the players leaving there is a chance the manager might go as well. It went Ok before of course, but what top manager will want to join a club knowing that they cannot really build. I have been told from a very odd source that if RK leaves, his brother will take over.I myself am not sure that would happen but.....
-
CB is correct in that Burley had quite a lot of resources but he was not the luckiest manager as he had a very dispirited fan base , that were divided as the politics of the Lowe and Wilde situation making the whole match experience not as the managers have the had in the last 5 or so seasons
-
I agree abotu the hype re Gallagher, i was not one of those but you have not in my opinion been proved right about Targett. If it is true what i have been told about RK's fall out with Reed is true, some was that Reed allegedly wanted to send Targett on loan where RK wanted to keep him in the squad. thsi with a few other issues between the two of them
-
A superb prospect, and has faced some very good players up against him this season. I think the results with him in front of Bertrand have shown that he is a decent player. Of course on here he is seen in the main as crap, but after reading some of the judgements of players on here over the years im not surprised
