  1. its all very well saying the club backed him and he spent loads, but we sold the real quality and gave us a budget that was only likely to buy also rans, that if they turn out to be any good will be sold on again. Pelle may have been missed today, but it is patently clear that whilst Long brings many things to our game finishing is not one of them.It seems if he had finished his chances or some of them in the last couple of games things would look rosier. Perhaps a clinical scorer would be just the job for us
  2. but Turkish told the mongs and helmets on this forum everything was fine! Surely him and Sir Les will turn things around.
  3. I can only give my view from watching Match choice on Sky. I was fully expecting after reading some of the reaction on here to see a wonderful flowing first half by Saints with chance after chance going begging. Sadly I was disappointed, and though we looked the dominant side (the ball in the air a lot with head tennis between the sdies) Antonio is still a raw talent but his strength and power was something we could do with. He seemed to terrify us and of course Carrol scares our centre backs and the mayhem seemed to duly follow. Still at 1-0 our most experienced player had the chance to slip an easy pass for us to be one on one but chose to lob, which if he had done it properly would have been superb but it was a 'in 2 minds lob' and became a back pass. I saw on the thread that Martina had messed up and was waiting for a bad back pass or something but it seems to me he stretched to head the ball and didn't get enough power allowing the hungry Antonio to get away and it was going to be a penalty if he didn't score anyway. The subs were odd in my opinion, bringing on 2 lightweights and taking off pace. Anyway the game went from us and the euphoria of the other was gone. We need to get a draw minimum against Norwich and hopefully get someone in to bolster the team.
  4. 'is this his gourd, his holy gourd? 'Turks is the messiah the holy one, his judgement is so much better than all others that follow the lord St Mary' He risest up from the dead once a victory doth become, to spread the word of the wisest of man. To proclaim his commandments that we must follow. He is the disciple of St Les of staplewood, and Ice hockey Ralpf of Vancouver. Their words does he worship and goes out to preach us uncivilised disbelievers. Never has he been wrong in an opinion and many go on bended knee in his company. Come all ye faithful and follow Turkish as he is the self proclaimed lord of football forums Psalm 4-0
  5. Luke Shaw THeo and Chamberlain left the club but still have great affection for us. Any of these young players leave because not only other clubs pay more but they will win things. If I was at our club I would feel the vibes that we don't really want to build a trophy winning team, but keep reaping the money from player sales. The only trophy the club wants to win is to stay in the cash rich PL. 'In Les YOU trust' I have lost my trust, and many fans I talk to are doing the same. Bringing young players through who will have a true feel/love of the club is a good concept, letting them believe staying and building a trophy winning team MIGHT get them to stay a bit longer. I do accept the pressures of agerts and the the lure of CL football high wages is a massive draw, but if they thought they could have glory at saints they might stay.
  6. that's because it now comes with crayons
  7. Superb, shame we didnt do more of those. great PR
  8. A complacent club, complacent board, complacent team, and SOME complacent fans on here. Hopefully something can be done, and the speed of our decline wakes everybody who matters up
  9. I think it was all to do with the strange summer tour where they didnt get a proper pre-season.
  10. Ive seen Sheffield Wednesday a couple of times and they have a centre half who looks as though he may come good. Hutchinson I think his name was. Gets lots of bookings but is brave and looks to have decent footballing brain. He looks to be a winner/leader type . similar to John Terry
  11. bloody hell fans are so ungrateful. RK came in last season ad confounded the majority by turning a depleted squad into a decent team. He then lost 2 of our best players, tried and tested in the PL. He then had to try and find players who will fit in immediately and still be as good. It is not about RK abilities it is about the Board and owners Project of keep reaping the crop and hoping to reseed with lesser quality. Personally I also feel that we should have kept Djuracic and Alia as they had gained some PL experience last season and did show glimpses of quality on the attacking front. I'm sure many have ponted out about a lack of pace, and midfielders who burst into the box. Iam not looking forward to MP and his team of athletic and pressing players coming to us, thae lack of fitness is one thing I would point at RK. It is the way to play, win the ball close to the oppositions goal and you have less passes to make to get to their penalty box
  12. I think posts like this to try belittle and degrade the poster does you no credit Turkish. Iam sure you are a fine specimen of a human being with no flaws or human failings. Alpine is a fellow poster and Saints fan and whilst is on the edge of opinion does not deserve to be treated in this way. His is an opinion and no worse than all of ours on here. This forum has been degrading for sometime now and attacks/abuse is one of the reasons I feel many dont bother anymore I only have 3 posts and i think this is my last for the day and so fill your boots.'in Les we trust' lol
  13. I understand the sarcasm but how about the novel idea of keeping the stars you have already. Yes they may be unhappy and want to win medals, but by showing determination by keeping the better players may breed a winning team whilst showing them that if they stay, we could build, they could win things at SMS. At present with the current mentality who can ever see us winning a trophy? The only time in my 50 years of devoting my time to supporting Saints there has only been a 3 season run, where I felt we could win trophies. That was in the early 80's under Lawrie Mcmenemy, when we were competing against top clubs and getting world class players in. Quality and experienced internationals. Everton have the 'Project' that i feel is best for me as a supporter
  14. Smurfs are Blue, about time they made them red, and as for the bloody sky being blue.Luckily there is the red sea
  15. of course gentlemens agreements dont count if he hadnt done any good. I suggest they have many other loans who went back early
  16. lol, good one. I think though it is not a case of buying but the frustration is keeping what we have already, tried and tested. Since the departure of the 'evil villain' of the peace NC we have made it plain as a club we will sell. Now i know you like to find the Everton situation comical when brought up,but they at least showed the ambition to hold on to their best. I know they eventually sold some of their best but they just seem to try that little bit harder than us. I think the other thing that irks me is that i was delighted to have that wonderful Englishness to the squad, now we wear clogs not boots
  17. Agree, Koeman didnt come here to stay for ever and will not sit there and see his reputation shot. At the end of last season he was seen as some kind of superhero in how he turned a completely depleted squad into a seemingly better side. Now? He showed his frustration the other day about spending, and i cant see the powers to be all of a sudden start spending more than we take in. We are a business model not a football club with true ambition. I agree with financial prudence but it seems to me that we (fans) are looked on as mugs. We were going to spend every penny taken in 2 seasons ago, RK himself has stated that hasnt happened. 'In Les we trust' 'Lets go Wilde' god, some are easily led.
  18. yep Austin is as pacy as the rest of the team and fit right in:) Pace is important throughout the whole team, that is why Mane is such a standout player. I believe he will be gone in the summer although the other night I came to the conclusion that it may well before that
  19. We learnt that our keeper doesnt make saves, I cannot recall a match saving moment We are not fit enough anymore, We do not close the players down (see above) Mane looks as though he is not going to be here after jan Our quality or lack of is really telling There is no energy in midfield its ok having a Black Box and reading the information on it but the clever part is having the right people analysing it. Perhaps Mitchells departure has been more telling than we may have thought The fans were fantastic IMO
  20. RK can see his dreams of being the manager of a really top club in Europe being dashed by our clubs relish to sell. please do not try and tell me had we had Stones and Chelsea had called that he would still be at our club. KL has invested money in our club and has seen a fantastic return on her investment. i have invested 50 years of my life and got back 1 FA cup memory and JPT
  21. Personally which one of us would go and challenge somebody coming to the gate with a bomb strapped to them? The stewards would be powerless. They are trained to take the lids off Coke bottles not to take on hardened terrorists
  22. I think the last part of that is correct as in the squad. MP had the faith to actually bring them on. Sadly that does not seem to be the case now. I don't know if the background staff has changed and so the quality of coaching and giving the players belief is the same. You see the Spurs players coming in as strong athletic types, and then you see ours that look like the still carry a satchel. Our Acadamy has been superb but sadly the conveyor belt has broken down. There are many factors of course but let's hope the talent spotters have not left the building
  23. MP was correct leaving us and joining Spurs. He knew that each season his best players will not be culled and have to completely rebuild. They will become a force and they are now looking a very decent side. I miss our high energy pressing game and our team really don't look to have the same fitness levels as we did when MP was here i also wonder if we had Dele Ali in our sights before Mitchell left for Spurs
  24. We are infidels, whatever you do or say to them you are seen as unworthy and so death is the only way they will deal with you. Simplistic perhaps but you cannot deal with that mindset. All creeds and religions have their idiots who will kill for the only reason, that you are different to them. it is so depressing. Perhaps the only counter is to tell them that when they get all the Virgins they are promised is to inform them that each one comes with a mother in law, that'll sort it
  25. I am a fan of RK but it was blindingly obvious Victor was going to be sent off. Bournemouth had nothing to lose and went for it, and the local derby meant more to them. I don't think we are very fit and as soon as we have a spell when we have to chase we just look knackered, Overall 3 points and we don't have the Cherries giving it a big one
