Iam not against KL but I also feel that NC was superb for our club. What we have to remember is that it was NC who went to ML and persuaded him to get involved. If it was not for that we would be playing at Moneyfields now. Therefore his bad management practice (not in my eyes) was the reason we survived and we can now talk about finishing in the top half of the PL. So many sit in the shadows with their petty grievances waiting for a downturn and then to come out spitting and snarling when the opportunity arises. ML who we have the utmost respect chose NC to front the club, is he now seen to be a fool? KL probably had no input of the purchase and running of the club until the passing of Marcus, only now she has taken control. ML had a project that he put into place and expected NC to carry out, who IMO went on the crusade to do that for his friend. I vaguely recall Marcus' drive from his deathbed to go and see his friend and present him the watch. (cant remember the whole story ) ML had his faith in NC and therefore I side with that view. I was not a victim of NC's ruthlessness except the ticket pricing, but understood that we need to raise money to get the club where it is. I will always be thankful to NC for bringing the club from the depths to where we are now, I will of course give KL the time to show her qualities of leadership. Good luck and i do hope you have the same drive and vision that your father had for this club -

that did surprise me. Im sure the people who purchased a copy from the authors did not expect there to be such a massive mark up. I was under the impression that they were likely to be out of pocket but with those types of margin we ought to get a pen and start scribbling a book on Saints. £35 is a lot of money for a book and if the club were making £25 a time they were foolish not to have it on sale. They could even treat the fans well and discount them at £20, double your money is pretty good afterall -

I doubt many people who are sacked have many good words to say. I never met the man but his drive and vision matched my own if I was in charge of the club. Having a dictator gets results and it seems the management and playing staff bought in to that. To me that was important, as for his indulgences at the clubs expense i cannot comment on as there is no examples. The court proceedings were plentiful it seems, I suspect a lot of times the threat of court is enough for people to back off. -

Duncan, you need to be careful mentioning the rumours about NC, as you say he does like to take people to court. I like the book but please do not give the impression that it was that important to the club. 50k turnover is not profit. If you have taken 50k in sales then the worry about the costs of publishing have gone and the club not stocking the book is not a problem. Waterstones have loads of outlets and so in a way he did you a favour. Iam sure plenty of sales came from wives etc saw them when browsing the shops at Xmas and bought it, those same people may not have gone to the club shop. You are rightly proud of the book that you did with the others and i do understand why it wrankles but it does seem to me that the thread is all about your disappointment regarding the book. -

I have only met Mike once or twice and found him to be the most entertaining and warm person. I cant see why he gets so much envy and stick on here. He adores Saints and a local man. -

I know MLT paid for his S/T, that is admirable, i think you will find that NC ML had a policy of everybody paying. I cant see the problem with that. -
there were some pretty naff posts that were disrespectful. KL is a person who wants to keep out of the limelight and Iam sure would be upset if shown the back pages of the red tops. It seem to me that they went out of their way to get the worst possible pictures of her. As for posters on here poking fun at her!!! She is ML daughter and i suspect he would have let the club die rather than let her be put through the ungrateful and spiteful posts she had on here a day or so ago Yes her decision to rid the club of NC pushed her to the forefront but iam sure she did not to wish for it.

Duncan I also will love MLT be given the respect he deserves and if he can become an ambassador for club that would be superb. The timing of the call seems bizarre, the club was in turmoil and somebody thinks about phoning FB and MLT ! I do hope we do not go back to the Wilde days where the hangers on were in full force. They dont want to pay but if its a freebie then they will put their shoes on Still enjoying the book by the way, I may as well give it a plug for you, -

So all the freebies are back on tap, that's good news for the old guard, the normal supporter will gain nothing from that. MLT is a superb player in our history but forget not he was close to finishing our club off due to a bad decision/company. NC was right to keep the snipers at arms length. It is interesting that FB was contacted, no doubt an old friend at the club probably not by the hierarchy. i suspect ML knew of the past problems with the old guard and would have supported NC decisions -
there are loads running about the situation,

why a separate thread for this?
