  1. if you believe the club want to keep him you say 50m or better still he's not for sale. To negotiate the price would point to the fact they do want to sell. Your cheap jibe that I would be dealing in drugs may be mildly amusing to some but not me. AL is fast becoming damaged goods, and his return may be your idea of good news but to me part of him has died as a Saints star. If you think either of them getting an injury or having poor performances in the WC is not a bad thing for their value then I wish I came across a few punters like yourself. Yeah I'm sure there is insurance but I very much doubt it is anywhere near the price we have been asking Liverpool or Man UU
  2. Dimbo or not, after spending nearly 40 years dealing I do know the ins and outs of negotiation. If the club really dont want to sell they may as well say 50m and it is game over. The club want to do the business and are just trying to get the best money, period. A player getting injured or having a bad WC is a risk and so we have to weight that up whether we think the value will improve o other clubs come in. You may think that it does not matter either way, but once you have decided to sell the goods are never quite the same again.
  3. of course they do, if ether gets injured the value drops. As for having a **** WC the Liverpool may cool on him. At present the lure of 20m for AL seems pretty high, and 30m even more
  4. it goes both ways, if AL gets an injury or a bad WC his value will drop. Take the money and move on. Watching LS last night hardly made him priceless, and watching AL walking wround against Peru hardly made him look great, of course that may be the plan
  5. it would depend on the wording of the contract. Surely if it says they are to get 25% of a future transfer fee, then thats all they will get, the add ons are extras. It must be like the image rights players use to avoid tax
  6. I wonder if the add ons are not subject to the 25% and so we may accept a lower fee but the add ons come later and not having the deduction
  7. 50m if he could head the ball and 100m if he could shoot
  8. we should immediately hand the team captain to Lovren, and make a staement of intent to keep him, he is the Killer of our team and make him feel very important to us with Wanyama and Morgan.
  9. I expect he will be in the middle of getting a sponsorship deal on what watch to wear. it is all very different when you hit the big time. i do hope RL doesnt lose his charm
  10. lol, I had thought the same but I had thought he wanted to change to Brazil as afterall hes had a Brazillian for ages 9not thrugh my experience may i add
  11. before AL gets completely slaughtered I think we should wait for Weston to give his side. I think AL should go anyway
  12. let him go, he WAS a hero to many but he is damaged goods. He will find it a lot harder in Liverpool if he doesnt make the grade or cant hack it. He has been able to be relaxed in our team as he is a 'star' but also not having the expectation and demands of Liverpool. I mentioned Mick Channon leaving us and never able to settle and i think AL will be the same up north. Get the money and spend it wisely and we will soon forget him.
  13. I can't believe you are still fuming about this 24hours later Alps. We had the best out of RL and I suspect the club staff felt he was getting to the end for us. Many match reports mentioned that RL was not his best, yes Gerrard in his ear must have made an impact but like an old car you upgrade before the gaskets and the engine is worn out
  14. dont worry I'm sure Turkish is more than capable of taking a bit of flak
  15. don't worry I'm told the Fareham Parish magazine are trying to get a decent story to publish, but you are not newsworthy enough even for them
  16. At present Gastons value is probably as low as it is likely to be barring a bad injury. If he has a great WC ( he set up a goal the other night) his value could rocket. I do not see the haste in selling him quite yet
  17. You're having a laugh, we have had many other heroes who deserve a statue before RL as much as I adored him
  18. perhaps everything AL is told would then be passed onto his agent and then the buyers. It is a case of the tail wagging the dog if we are not careful. iam pleased the board are showing some steel, but also not bothered if AL now goes
  19. Anybody else getting texts from Liverpool fans saying that you may as well support them as they are taking half our squad. I just reply well you didnt want to win the league do you.
  20. I accept him going, sad though it is
  21. personally I think he should go. To get 20m for a player who is tricky but does not have a shot on him ( i know there is the odd exception)who does not head the ball and has now shown his want to get away. One super season is what his value is built on. I know fans love him as the see him as some kind of loyal star player, but patently he is not. Let him try and cope in the goldfish bowl of Anfield and the pressure that brings, i remember the great Mick Channon doing the same, he was a bit of a failure and eventually he saw the end of his career here where he was at his happiest and he blossomed again
  22. Great to have a much bigger stadium but where will everyone park?
  23. I watched Redmond play for young England the other day and was underwhelmed. I would still be happy to have him here but Sinclair still has something to prove and potential to be a decent player
  24. 'Twas always the way. We are just a large provincial club and will always be so. Yes we had our attendance fall but £40 a ticket (to have 40 you have to earn 50) is a lot of money to find. Add to that travel food etc and football is now becoming a luxury. Every top club now needs wealthy benefactors or a superb business model with a massive attendance and marketing. It will be a long time until we can fall into that, if ever
