I don't agree, they scored from a clever corner kick routine, it was a lottery if the shot was likely to go through all those bodies, and then a 2nd bit of bad defending. We were the most likely to win before they got the 2nd. Had they had to chase the game we would have torn them a new one

I'm sorry to say Rooney is not the man for the system we played. The pundits were right that you get 1chance and you have to take it at that level. Hodgson took off Wellbeck but should have had the bottle to take off Rooney. I don't get the hype of Wilshire. Personally I would have played AL ( not because he is at present a Saints player, although I didnt feel any pride when he came on, as he doesn't seem one of us now) instead of Sterling from the start and brought him on when the game was stretched, his energy for the last 35 or so minutes could have been devastating, I know he was the star player but we lost, had we been more measured and then hit them when the fatigue set in we may have done better. Baines had a poor game although he had little cover. All in all I still think it was the best England performance in the WC for a long time

When's the Justice for the Heysel victims campaign going to be started?

Fair points, grab attention for newspaper sales is the best reason I expect

Why the attack on the Echo Duncan. I assume they are not being very conducive to publicising your book. The Echo can only get access if the club decide they want to. I assume they will only publish player unrest after I has been made public, I doubt they are wishing to publish anything that would upset the club if they want to get back in favour. A very difficult dilemma for them Iwould think.

Bad management when you get to the final and fail to win with the team you have at your disposal. It can happen to everyone of course
-
I do find it disrespectful for the club not to answer calls, but I suppose that is consistent to AL

runners up in the cup to mighty Wigan, I don't think that points to good management

Frannie nice bloke but don't ask him to pass the book to anyone as it will end up 20feet from the intended recipient or deep into the crowd -
he won the league after nearly f###### it up. With the resources there for him he should have won more and at a canter. Utd won the league the season after with probably their worst side for decades (not since of course) As I said if he becomes Saints manager then I want him to do well, but I'm not sure of his record bringing young players through and using sparse resources

:blush:I do hope I'm wrong but I don't believe Mancini to be that good. He was lucky to win the league with Man City even with a squad that Wigley would have take. To European glory

The fannying about deciding the manager gives time for agents/clubs to work away at the players.Reed said hisself the players don't know who is coming in and they understandably are unsettled. Dejan would be the biggest loss to our team of all the players rumoured to be off. Give him the captains armband and make him feel most wanted, to lose the backbone of the side is disasterous i(if true). It is going to be bad enough losing the goal scoring talisman, to find a replacement for one of the best CB's in the PL is a massive problem.Iassume it is. Liverpool or Spurs who he is angling for. Personally I would make him stay, for at least this season and show the balls to keep him to his contract

Cynical but it seems to me that they were only going to follow their list of managers whoever came forward.

Have you 2 history? Vitriol is never very pleasant, there again we can all mix it if we want

Blackmore was very sympathetic to Pompey and failed to point out how much they had taken from HMRC and all the others.

Don't renew their UK Football contracts then

at present they can't. By the 2nd quarter of the 21st century there will be more Spanish speaking Americans than English. In turn it is not too unreal to believe that there will be a Spanish speaking President if the USA within most of the younger posters lifetimes on here. The balance will change and then we may not so easily hold on to the. Islands with force as the US turns it's head to appeasing the South Americas. It's a waiting game. IMO -
why specifically 16-17 year olds?

first thing I thought when reading it as well lol. Climbing walls in Dorset? I thought the prison there was a ship off Portland, there again we could arrange a few haver sacks loaded with concrete for them to to take a dip in

the bit about Osvaldo was not the most diplomatic, and best not said IMO
