  1. I was thinking of going to the Mayflower to see the MLT talk, but the thought of anti NC rants do make me think twice. A fantastic footballer who gave me much joy
  2. I think that you have hit the nail right on the head there Hutch. I feel they knew they should let it die but they would do anything to keep FP. That is their rallying point and know if that went the club would disappear. The day FP is sold to pay debts that will be the end of their chances of ever getting up the leagues and they would end up like a club similar to any Conference team. I have my own concerns regarding Saints, if the Liebherrs have enough or even Nicola Cortese goes then things may not look so rosy for us Yes we have a saleable asset but who the owners would be is a concern.we are lucky we have the best foreign owners IMO
  3. sounds like the Boys Brigade band is there also
  4. Mero it seems a nerve has been hit! We can only generalise, as of course there would be a few fans who were not fooled, sadly the majority fell for it hook line and sinker ( I'm sure the same could be said if the roles were reversed) a lot of your fellows fans came on here and told us that you were not running up massive debts, that you were able to afford 100k a week players on 16k attendances. We were also assured that the new stadium was going to be easily afforded due to Tescos love of the club etc as they so needed your acreage in that prime residential and retail site. So please excuse us for throwing it back in your face. Please put this on record, we have told you that the new club is not going to work as the fans spoilt for 10 years or so on star players will not stomach swilling around the lower division, and whilst the novelty of being a fan owned club ( loosely and not really) has its pluses as soon as things don't go we'll,your board will come under immense pressure to release the purse strings. I have no gripe with the decent fans that you have but the big time Charlie's who came on here and talked big only to melt away get what they deserve
  5. I admit that I did fall off a chair in your company, this was after i fell asleep during a golf story
  6. so sports direct have to earn 6k a week from sales in the shop just to get the 300k a year in!! I know there is a massive mark up on shirts etc but as always it just doesn't add up. I assume they have read the contract correctly
  7. lol, only 2 of the chairs are impractical (nursing chair )height. I can categorically tell you that over 20years ago when Deacon was chairman a sum consideraBly more than the figure on the ARS was offered and would still be on the table now. That particular 'expert' gets it wrong time and again. Most of the people on those shows are auctioneers, not people who have spent their lives putting their money where their mouth is and learning from actually trading in such items. The television programmes on antiques are mostly contrived, (although the Antiques roadshow is the closest to getting it right, not on this occasion)and very rarely are they able to get a correct valuation, they are showmen not necessarily good at the job.
  8. st lard is normally a decent poster, give him some slack.not sure why the outburst but....
  9. The attendance was poor tonight, not much better at SMS
  10. I think I'm going to start the back from the game thread, I can then look like a proper fan then
  11. Gastons fault we scored a 2nd I assume
  12. The Chanteclerc )Cadnam)is still there and very good
  13. http://www.telegraph.co.uk › Earth › Energy › Wind Power 15 Jun 2013 - Every job in Britain's wind farm industry is effectively subsidised to the extent of ... They employed 12,000 people, to produce an effective £100,000 ... tank that has criticised the cost of wind farms, it currently adds about £47 to ... Perhaps not the energy produced but the cost to each of us
  14. biofuels use up more land that should be used for growing food for the increasing population. Wind farms are just a cosmetic way of making people think we are doing things. I read at one time that a wind generator uses up more energy in its manufacture and erection/building than it produces n it's lifetime. Nuclear energy is really the main way and water/tidal power.
  15. T be fair to Terry the builder the woman who valued the chairs was well off the mark to their real worth.
  16. He may have shares in a candle company. Anyone who recalls the power cuts in the 70s will be a tad concerned about the capping of power prices. I'm sure Mr Putin and the other gas suppliers will be shaking in their shoes, I assume they will just sell their goods to others. Power prices are down to worldwide demand, the British government will have trouble keeping the price down. Of course Mr BAlls will have helped plan this great idea, we announce a price cap 2years before they are to be put into place, of course the power companies would never think of inflated their prices in the 2years before to give them plenty of room, costing the poor old man in the street more money up til then. Just another mad cap idea by politicians
  17. yes but the cameras picked out the couple of dinlos who were anti him but failed to hone in on all the others who were applauding him. I was a snippet from May where he was talking about a player who had been out and had a picture of himself covered in money,Di Canio fined him and was right in saying the modern footballer should set a good example to the yung. In principle i agree but its the way he does it that is wrong
  18. youre not keeping up, as it also is a fact that NC opens his heart to the employees in the club shop about shirt policy.Afterall any decent chairman talks these policies over in the club shop
  19. If Franklin Mint brought out an empty box with a Pompey certificate in it, the selling point being that it was going to be worth a fortune one day, they would pay £1000 for it. I suppose they would at least have an empty box at the end of the day, seems a better deal than what they got
  20. All I can do is wish you all the best, lets hope your lad sees us win
  21. I don't think that MP is that negative, but you may be right in that he could be sacrificed to make us more solid. The thought in itself tells us a lot as we must all understand he is for attack not defence and so should understand why he is being subbed.
  22. Well if Adam starts taking his chances he won't be taken off
  23. quite obviously they don't!
  24. thats a tad unfair, didn't that Storrie bloke go to the high court and tell the judge they had assets worth 100m and provided jobs for 16000 people etcetera ......oh
