I assume it could become difficult if the event had become an anti Cortese event with Frannie and MLT having a go. If so the players would have been put in an awkward position and may have compromised themselves. Perhaps the players have loyalty to NC and might not have liked some of the anti club stuff,we dont know do we?

it is not being biased but perhaps being able to see the subtle qualities that RL adds to the team that some are blind to. If Wellbeck had been playing for Saints he would not be a first choice. The problem with Southampton is tht we have had more focus on traffic lights and speed cameras instead of focussing on wealth generation that I turn lifts the lifestyle of the lesser off. Portsmouth have focused on bringing in commercial ventures that have made the city more affluent. When I was younger Portsmouth was a doss hole, but now our city has dropped down into their former depths. Until we get a vibrant council who want to push the city forward it will continue a spiral downwards. it's fairly obvious that RL won't start as Hodgson has been saying that he has now a decent set of forwards to choose from. He never has talked up RL ,and only used him in desperation. It will interesting to see if the team spirit is still as good with the old guard back
