  1. surely he was going to the Ukraine job, never a ruse to push hughes out of his job, lol I really hope Joe Jordan gets the Scotland job as without him HR is useless
  2. Phillips is hardly setting the CCC alight, why we think he would the PL
  3. I see the valuation is 'if there is a viable club' in other words if it is liquidated it is then worth millions more. brilliant way to get a bargain through the backdoor..ohh er vicar

where are the mods to close this thread?
  5. Name dropper of the year.......umm not sure who that applies to lol , by the way Phil how are things going in Dubai?
  6. At the end of the day the club were correct and have sold lots of shirts. Brilliant and a good kit as well
  7. Do you really think all our players would put their head where it hurts/ i do not have the same confidence. I did not go to the match but watched the whole game on Sky. different perhaps and agree he did not dominate the back 4 all game, but it was when he had the ball and won the headers that impressed. I saw the best British centre forward play for us in the late 60's and 70's and he did not win everything (how people expect a forward to win the majority of balls played in is a surprise, as IMO the defender normally has the advantage) and Rl heading ability is the closest I have seen since. he is better on the ground than Big Ron was. Of course Dowie won a lot in the air but..... i do rate Kenwynne as well by the way.
  8. Obviously not in your class The9, but i feel so much of his stuff is not appreciated. His instant control and lay offs were pure class, he can control a ball instantly. I believe he was superb saturday and feel he should be the first player on the teamsheet. I dont think we have another player in the team who would have put his head in danger for the first goal (perhaps Jos)
  9. it is not about winning 50/50's people are saying MLT was class, but I dont recall him winning many headers against centre halves...or midfielders or Ronnie Corbett . RL had control of the ball and caressed it around linking with other teammates, for a centre forward he was superb
  10. you are not alone
  11. RL was pure class yesterday and the way he controlled his headers to get them into the path of others took me back to my hero as a kid watching BIg Ron Davies. Not only was RL heading great but his control and interplay with Ramirez, Punch and Al . We looked a good team yesterday and it refreshed my belief in the way the club is heading.
  12. i think that NA has boxed himself into a corner, after he brought GAzza back after playing Boruc it is now hard for him to drop him for KD. I really hope Iam wrong, but Bart...I mean Gazza is an accident waiting to happen again. KD had a tough group of games and was looking insecure I concede that, but the defence against Arsenal and Man U was dire , he was left exposed. The thing that saddens me most is that the amount of posters who have sat back and waited to attack KD and do not have the grace to accept how great KD has been. It him and RL who have helped most in getting us where we are now.
  13. [quote=rallyboy; I've asked before and been shot down, but surely, there cannot be anyone still who honestly believes that there has been NO sort of punishment dished out?? Sure they have got away with all kinds of criminality and there should be minus 30 on the way, but see the poor sick beast now, it needs shooting. Look at that feeble thing, look at the table, and tell me that they have 'got away with it'....kicking, when they have dropped out of the league into the Conference then they will have taken a bit of punishment The weight of historic debt could still sink this business right through League Two and into oblivion. Overpaying wages last season earned a point at St Marys, insolvent trading and stealing from charities etc earned the 4-1 cup win, and the victory over Cardiff. Put those factors together and you see why the business is on its knees and facing liquidation. They are reaping now. No fans, no future - even Bournemouth can rightly no longer regard them as serious rivals. And on the club gravestone it will say, They sold their soul for three days out. well I still say they have got away with it, as soon as they have tumbled down the leagues to the Conference then they will have paid a bit of debt for their 7 to 1o years of deceit. So far they have had a couple years of hurt, it is nothing against the glory times, you have too short memory Rallyboy
  14. Playing Gazza is a massive risk. If KD had let the goals in the Gazza has and there would be massive complaints. Just because he is 20 does not deserve to play. KD had a. Poor start by his standards but now he is refreshed he should be the No 1. I have not seen BOrac play but between GAzza and DAvis it should be KD. He and RL are the main reasons we are where we are.
  15. I would not be surprised if they have it already. The danger is that we will find out when it has been used. Could the US use one against IRan???? The georgraphy makes it very dangerous to do so
  16. surely the lebanstraum. Point was a good one. The Israelis are doing the same as Nazi Germany did,as in taking other people's land, and fighting to keep it. Their settlements are creeping further out . Until the US is even handed the problem will stay with us forever
  17. If the whole bid relies on the court making BC sell FP for under 3m it is laughable. I do realise that Pompeys appearances in court have seen them run rings around the legal system but surely BC will be clever enough to actually put under the judges nose that developers are backing the bid, not because they love the football club but they are out to get a real snip. If he pulls the files from the court appearance when the lady judge was given the clubs valuation by them at that stage , i cant recall the figure given but i thought in the region of 10m. Whilst the Trust could argue there has been a drop in value i doubt they could get away with 70% or more. it would be sweet that there sidestep at that stage now meant they were torpedoed by the same valuation. Good luck to the trust if they take the correct medicine, but it seems to me that they want their cake and eat it.
  18. I would have thought that BC will sit back and look at the trusts/developers plans. He will soon work out that if he gets the club liquidated,he then can buy the extra land cheap then put it all together and make a decent return. I do not know all the in and outs of the lands ownership or BC real rights, but from the little i see he is in the box seat still. He can see them be liquidated by the fall guys (the trust) and shrg his shoulders saying i told you i was the best one and walk away with the spoils. As for the -10 I will give £50 to children in need if it gets applied, Iam certain it wont although VFTT has pointed out the FL's quote. All along the football authorities have bent over for them and i doubt they will change now. Pompey have seen the power they have by threatening to liquidate and so throw the league into disarray.
  19. Funny that as there must have been 100 players in your team as im sure ive been blocked by loads of posters lol. It was a good night and a great bunch of lads
  20. lol, no I already have a signed programme that an Arsenal mate gave me after a charity gig MO was doing. It was in London and MO was bigging Saints up and so my mate got me a signed programme. It hasn't changed my life, at the time i was on the other side of the fence to MO as i was classed as a 'LoweLuvvie' (remember those days lol) it didnt effect my thoughts about MO as I knew we both had a passion for our football club. It must hurt for someone like him to be disliked for no apparent reason.
  21. I dont get why Mike Osman gets such a tough time on here. I have met him once and also got him a gig in his early days. i find him funny and a diehard Saints fan. I dont like his cosying up to LM etc but Im sure LM is a great person to mix with and so easy to become a mate with.. From my understanding MO always talks us up and yes like MLT at times makes a gaff, he is still one of us Saints fans and deserves better treatment from his fellow supporters. I hope the reason the programme has been pulled is due to lack of ticket sales or something, i doubt that there is much more to it than that. Anyway I would still go and watch Mike Osman and hope he is doing well in the entertainment world
  22. have you seen some of his displays???? KD had a poor start and was rightfully dropped, but to not play him ahead of Gazza where the experience was vital against Swansea was a mistake
  23. is he PES?
  24. sad if true, but we have a some horrible people in the corridors of power
