  1. PKF administrators have just made a statement announcing that due to unforseen circumstances 'Pompey will get away with it ltd' has been put into liquidation, as the director OldNick has been unable to trade on this since midnight on the 12/07/12. He would like to thank all who have been loyal to this brand, and looks forward to future business trading as 'I told you all along that they were toast' The companies assets £50 will be donated to a childrens charity of the customers choice.
  2. I assume we can take his word that it was just for the odd throw in. How many times did we seem to let late goals in and get draws not wins etc? It just underlines what contempt the players really have for fans. we pay, and are up for it every game when a percentage of them want their big pay packets and also happy to give a free kick throw-in etc just to get a bit more. Shameful that 2 of our players have held their hands up to this, and we call Pompey cheats
  3. No wonder NC does not wish to have anything to do with our past. Did Clau get his testimonial, if so he had fans pay for that as well.
  4. yet another subtle way of trying to get rid of a player on a legal contract. Once Varney , Norris and Kanu are gone then the whole of their efforts will centre on the 30k a week man
  5. i made a visit to the memorial yesterday, I was in London for a couple of days and felt I would show my respects. What a magnificent tribute it is. I read a few of the messages from relatives and it was very poignant. If in London go and visit it, the bronze is magnificent and the whole feel of the place is very respectful.
  6. these rumours are what makes forums fun. Well done, Turkish Id rather you post a snippet than keep it to yourself.
  7. speedy recovery Whitey
  8. My opinion is that, the criticism of the bombing campaign does disrespect those brave flyers. It is MY opinion not those expressed by others. Those airmen went out and did what they thought was best at that time, and i suggest had they been able to roll the clock forward I doubt they would have bothered. Their sacrifice (Im sure they didnt wish to die) and the aftermath of their efforts by questioning their role in the victory, has been a large part of the reason they have not been honoured before. It is shameful, and whilst i do not condone the deaths of some innocents I find it difficult to comprehend how we could have done it any differently. Civilian causalities are still happening now with our modern weapons, although not targeted of course. I doubt that CEC intended to show disrespect and those men gave their lives for the freedom of speech and our liberty. Iam perhaps too sensitive to the criticism of Harris and the bombing campaign but the trendy, 'lets be ashamed of our nation actions' does not sit well with me.
  9. deadline day to me is when the CVA was to be agreed and BC to take over. If you wish to qualify it more then Iam happy to do so. more importantly where is the money to go, I would prefer a Childrens charity
  10. Sadly it seems to me you have already done that.
  11. as they have appointed a recruitment officer TB fully expects them to be alive for a lot longer. Again the media are helping TB apply pressure on Tahim by the subtle and not so subtle press releases. If he is not gone by the deadline or taken a massive paycut I will give £50 to a charity of the posters choice on here.
  12. The administrator knows that he will carry the can if he does it wrong. Therefore if MA is taking staff on, I suggest that TB knows that BC is taking over whatever and they are posturing trying to rid of the higher paid staff and there is a lot of bluff going on. TB is under the constraints of the law (i know, we are talking Pompey)and is liable in certain situations.
  13. I like Rooney but I'm not sure he cares for England, and is not passionate about playing for us. Are his roots Irish?
  14. Has anyone else thought that this kit will give us more of a unique look in the Pl this season. We wont be confused with Stoke or Sunderland (clubs who are far more established in the Pl than us) the worldwide audience would look at red and white stripes and think not of us but the other 2. We are the new boys in the top league. If we became a fraction as successful as Liverpool when they wore a similar kit Iam sure we will be happy. Personally i think the kit is sharp and good looking (except of the bloody logo) IMO the main body of Saints fans will not be quite so wound up about it like the more serious types on here.
  15. there you go, any thought that Taylor s outfit may have to cough up has focused the minds there. All of a sudden the players are not important to him but his salary may be at risk if the deferrals etc land in their hands. I doubt the PFA could handle that debt and i suspect the PFA's lawyers are looking at it closely. The pressure on the players is cranking up and the people who should be on their side are now against them. Pompey will survive, the players will accept the low offers,Bc will be the owner, he will only have to pay 500k to rid the club of £35m (?) debt, all the PP's are safe for them the CVa will be agreed and there will be no further points penalties. Accept it, that is what is playing out and all the toast in the world will not effect things at FP. They have and will get away with it and it is galling.
  16. It is odd that such a bad leader was well loved by his men. i would have thought if he was as bad as some say they would not have been behind him. At the time of the start of the bombing campaign we were on our knees , the countries morale was at an all time low. Hitting back by bombing did lift morale and also made the German people question whether the Allies were finished. it was the days before the internet and information was always difficult to get, hearing on the radio that the allies were finished and then bombs falling from the skies on them, would have made people question their leadership. Harris has always been a scapegoat but as more official documents come to light in time we may learn more.
  17. Darjan Curanovic, thats hell of a score in scrabble. I suspect they are looking to buy /get lots of players with long names so that they can make a bit on printing the names on shirts. They are searching hard to find a player called Borrussia Munchengladbach
  18. All these things need to be looked at in the 'at the time scenario' We were threatened as a nation until the very last knockings of the war. The Germans were technically superior to the Allies in many areas and they were also close to making breakthroughs in the nuclear option. They had the rockets and capabilities of delivering a knock-out weapon. We had to do that was neccessary to conclude the war and without a doubt our ability to read the Enigma codes etc gave the Allies a huge advantage. Some of this information was fed to Russia and so they could also win major battles that changed some of the course of the war , Kurst being one. It was not a foregone conclusion by any means that we were winning, and frankly if it saved 1000 Allied soldiers lives it may have been worht it. The civilian population were part of the German war machine. Politicians were to blame for the whole lot , not the bomber boys. It is to the nations shame that they have felt the lepers of our armed forces and to this day feel almost embarrassed to have been part of the force. At long last they are honoured, far too late but at least some can feel the pride
  19. should I be surprised that this thread has only 4 posts when the new kit one has about 40 pages on the main site. Perhaps my appreciation of the debt we owe to these people is going to fade out with my generation,
  20. it could be clever marketing of course, people are talking about it and so it gets exposure , also all those floating fans from Fareham etc might think it is indeed a Liverpool shirt and so buy one lol
  21. I very doubt that. The majority of Saints fans will wish to have the home kit when we are at SMS. Not all are the style icons that the intelligentsia are on here
  22. They were alongside submariners and those of the Artic convoys the bravest of the brave. When you think how many of us fear flying on holiday, and what they went through when they were protected by very little and ack ack nightfighters etc attacking them. It is to Churchill and other politicians shame that they were not honoured before. Yes the Dresden bombing may have been a bit much but they followed their orders and it saved many allies lives as it diverted so much from the Russian front.
  23. Has Gary Neville signed for us? Brilliant we need his experience
  24. I didn't realise that TB had powers like that to cut wages, how about his own?
  25. he is a risk and if he is £6m then !!!! we have seen many young keepers with promise fall from grace. Goalkeepers IMo are at their best later in their careers
