I have held back with the Pompey will get away with it, as I felt that nothing would happen pre the cup final. Now that is over the next 3-4 weeks should be very interesting.Phil did say this was likely to run to May a couple of months bck. Let's hope justice is now served so i dont have to put up the statement anymore

Wade, we were overspending as nation before the banking crisis. The debt is not all about the banks. Now we have a new government in they may well bring out into the open the hidden debt. Itr will be like PFC, at first it is 35m then 70 m and before long it doubled. We had a credit card government and we all have to pay towards the interest
-
He should never been given the job in the first place. A labour lord who was useless. Who appointed him? He has overseen Pompeys progress in the cup and done nothing about it

I think it cost a fiver last season. No tickets sold, as they are sale in the Pompey club shop and so will only take cash . Big walk up on the night.......well about 150 or less i might have added a nought by mistake there. Very likely the beer will sell out as my team get the pre match preparations going . The corners wont be open as Health and Safety will not allow it due to JustMikes passing and Foxy's shooting that are deemed too dangerous for people in those areas. The pre match entertainment is watching the away teams faces as Phil carries in 20 photo albums of his golfing days for them to look through. He will be asking questions after they have trawled through them to make sure all have been concentrating. Half time entertainment will be provided by the in fighting in the crowd as home and away fans have not been segregated.Tear gas had to be used last time to stop the fighting

very disappointed Kayne McClaggon has been released. I hope he makes his way back ,but perhapos he is susceptable to injury.Definately his pace has suffered from the long lay off. Good luck to Simon Gillette. No doubt Doncaster will take advantage of his availibility
-
That's good news, Im sure the away team can't wait to flick through 20000 photos of you on a golf course, or dancing at a music event. I might e-mail FF and get him to make sure you get an internal as you come through customs. I will insist that he makes sure the officer has road diggers hands the size of frying pans. Lol I would not risk the BA run and stay with Emirates as they are bound to change theior minds or have booked you on a flight that stops about 20 times.

You dont think the miners strike and the way the country was brought to its knees didn't effect me? The workers were cynically used for political means. That is not what I believe unions were for. I can't help every person in the country I'd love for everyone not to have hardship, but it is not possible, I work and pay my taxes and watch the government and others provide the help for those where needed. Nothing about an 'I'm all right Jack attitude.'

Typical smarm from you BTF. You demanded an apology from Dune when he dared put a comment about you, but when the boot was on the other foot??? As for the Committee, he is 1 voice in the group and the Labour leaning economist. He is not even part of that group anymore, so what's your point ? The governor took the advice of the sitting group here and now and used his experienced opinion as well
-
So , it is like one of the coaching staff being heralded above the manager. The coaching staff may have a decent idea but he is not the one selected to really make the decisions. The governor would have used all the info and taken that into account By the way Blanchflower is a labour leaning economist and no doubt put his input into Browns plans and so was always likely to be of a different opinion. The media said it was very unusual for the governor to make such statements.

He played for Spurs in the 60's

we sold up and are waiting for an opportunity. It is frustrating waiting but prices are high due to a lack of supply. Very few are coming up and os prices are holding firm. If inflation does take hold and interest rates go up, you may well see things change to the negative. Another reason for houses keeping their value is the buy to lets, people trying to get a decent return on their money are buying these and hoping to get a return
-
In the public sector perhaps, but if the cuts mean that there is more confidence in our economy more people will spend, more companies will expand and so some of the slack may be taken up.The state cannot employ everyone.
-
Well as the Governor is in charge of the BOE i hope he has more confidence of financiers than Blanchflower.I agree that economists hardly ever agree though. Brown said in the last debate that it was falling. At the time i was sure he was wrong, but thought he should know....but As for Campbell, he is a man who IMO went infront of the Iraq enquiry and lied. Just a clever and cynical user of decent people and knows how to manipulate, aka Mandelson. I fully suspect that one of those 2 wrote Browns speech yesterday, it was os out of character for him....but that is me being cynical

Good things need be said more than once to you dim lefties. Otherwise you will be telling us in a few months time 'See I told you unemployment would go up under the Tories/Lib pact'
-
Yep the start of the countries golden years. Decades of union power had brought Britiain to its knees, the 'British disease' had destroyed so much and our workforce knew things had to change. Thatcher did what had to be done. Scargill and his ilk tried to bring the government of the day down (and nearly did so) to put Labour into power. One thing with the left is that they cannot take defeat, even now the extreme left is trying to destabilise as they haven't got their way. I have taken 3 labour victories on the chin and got on with it. Its about time the left accepted that they have been shunned and get on with it. beofre you go on about jobs lost, remember Brown and Blair destroyed a lot of businesses with their policies. Every regime hs ts casualties...or is it OK for family businesses to go to the wall under labourand their famillies lives ruined? As for the trade union thing, no I have never had that problem as I never have been invovled in any work that required to join

is it groundhog day?
-
No Im not getting confused. People claiming unemployment may be reduced , but people registered unemployed has risen to the highest since 1994. Brown said that umemployment was falling. You are not Alistair Campbell by any chance?? Lol ps have you seen what the Governor of the BOE said about cutting?

Interesting post. low end antiques shops!!Do you know of any Dune? Lol. Auctions are viewed by at least a hundred professionals/experienced buyers. It is not the place to be too adventurous. Those damned tv programmes really dont show the truth of the market. Auctions are a place where they are waiting for fools or inexperienced punters to start to bid. Car boot sales (again be wary) jumble sales , charity shops , or junk shops (not many left)are not a bad place to start. Remember your biggest danger is always your own arrogance/belief you know more than who you are buying from or are competing against you. Many a bad buy has been had by not reckoning the sellers knowledge or honesty
-
another Brown lie, he said during the leaders debates that unemployment was falling.
-
During the leaders debates Brown said that unemployment was going down. That has now been proved as another lie. Today it was announced that the latest figures show that unemployment is the worst since 1994. Remember this is part of the legacy he left , and no doubt it is still rising. Many will point their finger at the coalition when the figures come out in the next few months. The trend is upward and will take time for that to be reversed
