  1. I was told (not sure if true) that Umbro don't have any of that material in stock as they were surprised how successful the shirt was. I assume the club looked at past sales of new kits and estimated from that. They had the figures and would be foolish to over order. It shows that fans in general prefer no shirt sponsor and that the new kit is smart to all ages. Well done the club, The kit man would have got the teams kit sorted and would have had a separate order.
  2. Not enough for me. We will have their brats telling our kids for generations to come that they have won the FA cup twice and were unlucky not to beat Chelsea and were robbed of playing in europe. Let them be expelled from the league and have to crawl their way back up.That would be fair to offset their glory years. Although im tinged with sympathy for merovingian ,Mackrill etc though
  3. Patred |I recall is friends with Webster the ex goal keeping coach at SMS and so has contacts in the game. I see quite a few fans who seem to have an agenda against the new chairman. I do admit that the staff are less comfortable to talk about what is going on, but that may be more professional. Some of the old guard seem to have an axe to grind, no more perks, tickets etc being given out to anyone. I doubt the FL would be dishing out a letter against our club, to all the others.
  4. there is nothing like a historian scorned..........only kidding Duncan. I don't see why NC would be thinking of sacking the manager now, when patently it would have been best to do so preseason to let the new man settle in. I have no doubts that if we are not in the position to go up by Xmas AP will be gone.I suspect the majority of fans would feel this then anyway.
  5. So if the CVA is agreed , they have a new owner who has passed their FPPT the embargo still stands? If so how long for and why
  6. Do you think that there is a lot of self interest and the PL clubs may well help fund Pompeys case. The reason for this is that if the HMRC win on the image rights case, that will cost them all a lot of dosh?
  7. I think you will find all that is in place as Merovingian said that Chanrai was going through FPPT. Therefore they will hit the ground running if they get away with it. I don't feel confident that things will turn out the way it should do. No surprise there though that I feel negative
  8. Stu, the person you spoke to at5 the club should be careful talking out of turn to you, who then broadcasts it on here.NC has tightened up any leaking of information to make the club more professional. People who used ot freely give info , are now very nervous to do so.
  9. Sadly the club missed a trick by not getting an option to sign him when we took him on loan
  10. My idea of community for a population of over 200000 would be a darned sight more than the few fans who turned up that day. Frankly if it wasn't for Cortese the community club you talk about would not be there now. I agree that doesn't give him a right to do anything he likes, but it certainly gives him lots of slack in my book.
  11. takes me back thinking about those old ciggie machines
  12. Sadly people who think that football is not a business are deluding themselves. When the club was very close to going out of existence where was the community then? Saintsaid showed to my disappointment that push come to shove the community did'nt give a toss. Where were the 50k fans who were at Wembley? Also don't talk to me about putting money into buckets when things were bad i donated 20 tickets at full face value to be given out to listeners on the Saint/Play radio just ot put money inthe lcub, i also supported the Saintsaid thing putting money into those buckets that the Saintsaid organised....have we heard where that money went by the way?
  13. When you say old fags, are you talking about the sailors friend or Players No6
  14. I got a message that the SaintsWeb got a mention in the programme
  15. If you ever care to drive around Pompey and look at their citizens you would immediately see that anything to do with exercise is not likely to be cost effective. If you sited rows of chocolate vending machines, burger vans and lavender venders you may have a chance
  16. Yes football is about opinions, those opinions are fine in a pub or in a social circle but if they are malicious (not that i believe NI would be party to that) and used in a damaging way against a bsiness then I feel the business has a right to try and stop that person from entering its premises. If a person is banned just because the owner does not like a fair point being aired then the business customers have a right to not support the business if they so feel.
  17. If there was no football club in existance then the planners will not leave the area forever hoping a football club appears. No amateur team would be able to service a stadium that size.
  18. My S-in_law has put a large amount of money on saints winning the league. I have told him he has no chance of winning the bet. IMO we are over rating our team and squad. I really hope to be proved wrong but play-off place is about the best we will get. Too many teams midfields outplayed and outfought ours last season.
  19. If the club feel certain fans are rabble rousing or in a way giving a negative slant that makes fans less likely to go to games, should they try and make it difficult for those said people to attend their business premises?
  20. What did Nick say in the press before the ST money was returned?
  21. Barcelona compared to Pompey lol
  22. A season ticket at brighton....thats a bit extreme
  23. Behave Stu, I don't think many of us wish to be a Leeds or Millwall.
