The mentality of the club was at its lowest. The squad was not equipped to play in L1 at that stage. If you went and watched us at Salisbury in the friendly when AP first arrived you would not have expected us to have any points by now. We were appalling. Most games i now believe we will get a positive result, it is years since i felt that.
-
I would love to watch it....but i dont get the alternative stuff
-
If we did get to the play offs I suggest there would be quite a few different faces than there is now, as the squad is still not equipped to get to the playoffs at present.
-
Professor, why is this sudden turning on the manager from normal right minded fans?????? AP has turned a team of losers and bottlers into a team that is difficult to beat. I dont go along with all he does but I have learnt that forever turning on the manger has NEVER helped us and a part of the reason we are where we are now.
-
Derry Im really surprised at your impatience and sudden doubting of the manager. Surely you would like a lot of us, leart from turning against the manager. There has never been a manager who has played the team I wanted week in week out. I myself would like to have seen more of Holmes but thats football. As for James i see weaknesses but he is a fantastic crosser of the ball and puts it in the right area.

I am not in disagreement, but many of the fans were saying that papa was rubbish and we must sign antonio at all costs.I would play Papa but I suggest thye are working on his running off the last man.
-
Lol, you should be on the stage.
-
It is not excuses it is fair reason IMO. To make up so many points relies on at least 8 clubs above us all going on a long run of poor results. One team loses but then another of our rivals win and fill their place. It is not an impossibility but very unlikely.
-
I doubt that AP does not see Papa as a worse player. We are only talking a few games ago and Papa was being derided for being offside all the time. I personally see Papa as head and shoulders above Antonio, and will play more as the season goes on.

Thanks Andy

I was told that trottman was unlikely to be kept on a couple of weeks back. How did Bart do?
-
No it's not impossible but we have been fighting on too many fronts. We are only half way through the season and are still fighting in 3 competitions. Put that aginst the backdrop of not having enough players to fill gaps left by injuries nd suspentions. I do not hold that we have enough quality to play these many games and still win week in week out. The JPT is IMO our best chance of getting anything from the season.Of course if we strengthen well in the window things may change. As for Morgan and AL, I dont think either can be seen as outstanding in this league. Both do well but neither grab a game by the collar and dominate.Even saturday against Exeter their midfield seemed more creative nad effective.
-
too many games played already to realistically mount a play off challenge. I had slight hopes of doing so but we cant expect players to win enough games unless we get. a stronger squad.
-
Lol, in a way you could be right. I have seen the injustice served on others whilst Pompey have time and again got away with it. I dont have anything personal against the decent Pompey fans as you know. I have never felt it was fair that the time you went into administration you never rec eived just penalties. Then in the last 5 years you have overspent and bought success. It can be fairly argued we did to a degree when we went Wilde, but we had our medicine. Now it is your clubs turn if life is fair...but of course we know thaqt is not the case and so I expect you to come out smelling of roses or the like.

Perhaps the future parachute payments are/would be already taken. Im just too cautious and expect them to gert lucky again. I dont want them to be lost forever, although at times !!!!!!!!
-
the return of the 'come to be entertained' always dilutes the atmosphere. The Northam were not vocal today, and the Itchen vry anonymous.good to see happy faces at full time though.
-
if pompey go into admin and take a points penalty .They get relegated will they thne still have parachute payments next season to make them highly competitve for re promotion under a new regime with their debts cleared? They are far from dead IMO. In fact if they dont lose too many players they will stay up. I was surprised there was no singing of 'They only score in a brothel' over the weekend

Merovian, Pes even Mack Rill are the ones i do feel for ,the gloaters and neanathals no.
-
????? whats that about?
-
Are you trolling? I like many thousands of others have paid full price. That is my choice, i also want the club to thrive and so am more than happy to see the club taking initiatives to get more into the ground. To be honest, to sit in the Chapel with thousands of kids is worth a massive discount IMO anyway. Every hloiday i go on or flight without question there will be people paying less than me for the same.Should I stay at home in protest? The more people in the stadium the better the feeling, the more that NC will be able to spend to improve our enjoyment in the future, give the club a chance it is recovering from major heart surgery and needs all the care it can get.
-
Again the PL will bend the rules to0 help them. It is amazing how corrupt the whole system is.
-
Most of us would not be sensitive to that. lol

to win the election is a poisoned chalice. I would be happy for Brown to stay and reap what he has sewn. The tories will come into power on the back of the worst finaces ever (unlike what brown inherited) and we will have misery and hardship. You only have to look at the Eurostar nonsense to see that the people have no stomach for anything not pleasant and will soon turn on the new faces.Brown will then of course be there telling them that 'he told them they were better off under him.' Cameron lose the electrion and let the looney left get what they fully deserve for their total ruin of our economy. 175billion ffs, how are we going to pay that back, let alone all the hidden borrowings.

There always has been a booking fee on credit card transactions.
-
I expect the club were not surprised that some would use it to save money, but it is a blunderbuss aproach spray enough shot and you'll hit something. The fans who have used it just to go by themselves may well want some more and go next time at ful price, a lot will give the kid tickets to friends and so the potential of new fans. Friuends of ours took their kids last leauge game and we got a call at 6 oclock saying they were still trying to prize their kid out of the club shop.He was a man u fan up to then. Now he is fully kitted up as a saints fan. Yes there are some who will use this to knock the club but for me, if it encourages another 100 people to become saints fans then it is all worhtwhile. Happy christmas
