  1. Yep some will pay more but like SFC that will be the hardcore who love the club almost too much. You will then get the fairweather fans who think 90 is too much unless they are playing MU every week.
  2. I suppose if you are wrapped up in the belief that RL would actually say that you may think he'd say that. Personally I dont see why he would say that. Unless he was in some lighthearted jesting, I doubt he'd get into a conversation. He would also know that many people know of him whetehr they be from Southampton or not and wouldnt be surprised he was recognised. Its bull as far as Im concerned.
  3. Lol, fans pay what they can afford. Knowing human nature there will be the ones who take advantage of this offer in more ways than 1. They wont last longterm and exactly why fans on the board are a waste of time IMO
  4. I very much doubt this is true, not that I doubt you Duncan
  5. I think that is a good shout but it seems only us 2 think it a good idea Victor
  6. I see what you say and so of course you are right.
  7. The Jade Goody of the football world is honoured by haviong his picture hung in the National portrait gallery, what a sqad indihtment of our times
  8. Of course they need to be diligent but we have been in administration quite some time.Yes he will be able to buy us cheaper in a few weeks. You of course believe that our funds are boundless and will be able to be eeked out for them to wait until it is cheaper. If the club does not have funds and are liquidated he will be able to buy us for £10m cheaper. Super wealthy people can go and buy boats for £200m and not worry that they cost 100'000s a week to run, that is who i think about when i mention super wealthy. If a buyer is concerned about 3-5m they are not super wealthy IMO.
  9. I dont agree. if the assets are worth more split up than to one poor offer the administrator will split sell and liquidate that is his job
  10. I can only assume of course but if the plug was pulled we must have still been losing money.I cant see that happening to a profit making concern. I do agree we must be leaner and already the bottom line figure will be better after the departure of some high earners in the summer. That will be offset by relegation of course.
  11. From my perspective it would be if we had a moneybags buyer he would have easily satisfied the administrator with a good offer weeks ago and we would have proceeded. A lot of the hold up must be down to the adminsitrator being able to appease the creditors. of course you could argue that they are bieing careful and trying to buy it at the best price possible but again if you are super wealthy woulkd 2-5m matter in the big picture.
  12. Morgan cost 750euro at the time which was about 450k then.He was touted as a star for the future and i dont criticise RL for taking him on.Had we not and he had an injury free seaosn somewhere else im sure fans would soon have said the club were being shortsighted not going for him. In time I believe there will be some questions asked more fully about why Fry (barclays manager in charge of our account) who is a saints fan pulled the plug after the 10 point penalty came into play. It is too simplistic to say he had enough of RL and so pulled the plug then. i dont know myself what brought that on, bu5t him being a saints fan who was at the board meetings and also basically giving the go ahead to all meetings had to have something happen for him to do so with that timing. RL etc had no warning of his action and so i think another outside source must have come into play.We had cut our overdraft by 2 m and so it would be fair to say we were keeping to our side of the deal.If he had either forced us to sell in Jan or given us enough slack for a few more weeks to carry on then we could have sold a few players to cover the shortfall. As i say IMHO there must be more to this than has yet come out. Just an example of my thoughts did a interested party give assurances or reason for him to believe it would be easier to sell if he pulled the plug? it is all imaginary Im sure but it still plays on my mind why he did so at that particular moment in time.
  13. The fans becoming newly realistic could become our strength of course.Every player linked to the club in the last 4 years are Googeled and then scoffed at.(funnily enough they were correct) but we were still in dreamland what we could egt.Now if the club take on some non entities /frees etc the fns may embrace the idea instead of criticising and make these players welcome.I still have neough faith that we can indeed rise again but we will need us all to unite behind whoever is there and not expect instant success.
  14. I can understand your concerns and voiced them like others on here before we went into administration.Im in denial that we wont be bought but when you consider quite how much even after the cost cutting that RL took on that we are still losing money!!! it seems we dont have any super rich sugar daddy comign to buy us and so are now at the consortiums of well emaning welathy but not super wealthy people hoping to buy us and then turnoing us for a profit in a few years. Will we be just a shell with the contents sucked empty by snakes or will it hatch and grow
  15. i understand most fans on here are realistic to what is to become the norm for a while. We really do have to understand the squad will be cut and shut big time whoever takes over.It seems to me none of the interested parties have a lot of money to play with and so will look at the players wage bill. We will have to get used to the loss of anyone who commands a decent wage.Sadly to some fans it will mean the back of many of their heroes (although many wont be missed) We will IMO have to accept a lot of hardworking players who we have never heard of . In time some will get our respect and perhaps become our heroes.
  16. As i think more about it perhaps they are right. We as fans or club will not think twice cutting them adrift as soon as we can to reduce the wage bill.
  17. Are you a psychic (spl?)
  18. I didnt realise that you were off clubbing. I thought it was just an aftermatch drink and a few pleasantries.Im gutted now as i coul have organised a dance off for the result to be overtruned..damn
  19. I think we should have the managers commentary. 'Get that bloody Hamster off the pitch now' Phil was shouting in despair, and then a large chuckle is heard from the opposing manager and his reply 'You can't Dubai he's paid for 45 minutes'
  20. How are you going to duplicate me then??? I await with trepidation the comeback to that
  21. We are like Bodie and Doyle ,The Professionals. I have alreadsy earmarked you for a role we need a new janitor and after 6 months if you are good you will get a toilet brush and some gloves.
  22. I think you have got the right format there Phil. It is the good cop bad cop thing. Phil the Mr Nice Guy who then does the silent assination by using any trick possible to get the result and Nick big mouth who rallies the team with banter team spirit and encouragement. It would be a good combination. You may have done the modest in victory but im afraid i dont think I did the gracious in defeat, Im looking forward to see how my post match interview comes across after the game. A little peeved at the ref /tactics used by my counterpart etc etc. not a sign of congratulation to the victors, just a solid defence of my team.
  23. Yeah but it was the quality of the other knee that showed through. Only 32 Si I was cutting you a bit of slack as I thought you were an old boy!!!! lol.
  24. at least he turned up.he would have paid as well.
  25. My daughter was reading the programme and said 'surely you recognise him he sits right behind us' ....oooopa Sorry mate.I did recognise your family though wh oalso sit on the Northam
