Desperately close to what? I thought as we were in administration you are protected in ways from the banks or other creditors

Where Will the Creditors Get Their Money From?
OldNick replied to Guided Missile's topic in The Saints
It hadn't occured to me your thoughts in the last paragraph. Quite a sobering thought, or a case that there are so many interested parties it is going to take longer than expected. Not a pop at you Clapham, but i doubt the administrator worries if it takes months longer as long as there are assets to dispose of and get his fees. -
it depends what they value him at compared to the price achieved.I suggest any sales would be at a firesale price wheras people coming in would not need to be doing so.It doesnt make sense to me, whats new there you may say, ps shouldnt you be off thinking up how to smear people on e-mail...only kidding BTF

Not at all, if you are buying the house with carpets included and then they are sold you then have to renegotiate the price. That would immediately ut people off wishing to offer

Clapham I see on another thread that Dyer has been sold. How would that be viewed by the administrator and people wishing to buy the club/assets. Surely how can anybody put a value on the club /player assets if we are selling them at this time? -
I can see the reasoning behind that. I wonder why the club can sell assets when its holding company is in talks with potential investors and selling an asset may be seen as moving the goalposts. Its like selling a house with carpets included and then them being sold afterwards.

If the fee is that then the administrator has done a marvellous deal. I find that hard to believe as Swansea wouldnt pay the 500k in Jan.
-
this is just why administration is a disaster for us fans. Swansea have got the best end of the deal.In jan(at that stage the club did not need to sell as they had the bank on board) they may have paid in the region 0f 400-500k ,now they have us over a barrel it will be sub 250k and we also will not have the advantage of a bidding war with other interested parties. Rasiak will be viewed the same by Watford.Add to deductions taken by the administrator in fees on the transaction gives us even less. This is the thin edge of the wedge sadly.

I find it interesting reading the thoughts of someone 'in the trade' and giving the perspective how Fry may think / work. Thanks -

I dont think there is a timescale except as soon as the funds run dry he will then call in the liquidator. If LC is correct the club needs 500k to keep us going until the end of the season. Burnley s gate receipts may be important and so a good win at SW would not come amiss. One thing is for certain the administrator will not cough up any money to keep us going and so as soon asw he sees that there is no money to keep paying his fees he will pull the plug and the lights go out period. So basically I would suggest 2-3 weeks time. Exciting isnt it?

You dont rate GB, like many others thats your choice. He will not be remembered as a great but he did what no other has done since and that was to get us to a whisker of the play off final. His team selections got us there not all the fans who were crying that KD was playing instead of their choice. He was the 1 who turned a failed full back into a multi million pound transfer, he turned Jones from a player who many said was useless into a multi million£ sale at the same time bringing in return a goalscorer who ultimately saved us from relegation after we plummeted down league after he walked out, who plucked a 16-17 yr old kid from the reserves to a muliti million £ sale. The moneyhe made from those sales more than paid for some of the excesses and it could be said if it was not for that money we could have been in administration last season as LC called the money outstanding in to keep us alive.Yes he made some poor decisions but it is the fans who think they know best who lost their nerve. Any team that had the heart ripped from, then the team stutters, that is what happened last season. it was soul destroying. As for KD I was having the same old arguements about his qualities then and only people wanted to see was the negatives and spoke about them, only as he consistantly proved them wrong that they were prepared to see he is a samned good keeper as he was then.

In time the truth will come about how people were interested in buying the club on a few occasions even up to the last hours before administration and under other regimes. It wont be that administration is right it will be the fact that the club will have been sold off at a fraction of its worth and so many more people are interested. Only in a couple of years will we see if we have got out of jail or ruination (if nobody stumps up the money we will know sooner of course) I doubt we will get taken over by a multi billionaire

Thats football, opinions that become fact when patently they are not.

Why are we doing this? Will it be bibles for Hoddle next season? -
You could be right on that Vectis,it could be coincidence as West Ham fell apart when he went there.Funny thing football some faces fit in some clubs not at others. A slight difference there would be no club if no investor comes along. We'll look damned stupid if in our rush to get rid of Lowe we have nothing at all.
-
Of course the same could be said of Wotte against NP as the squad that NP had was of a higher quality. Yes Bart instead of Davis. Lol
-
I can see what you are saying but in all these things you have to go back to that time and place. He did ok and of course the heart was ripped out of the team.It is only opinion that he was not good but the stats say he did well. He bought some useful players and turned some players who werre not rated into multi million transfers. As I said i dont want to go into a long debate as nobody will change their minds.
-
I dont want to get into a long debate about GB but the fact is we have never been in such a high league position from the time he left. It again is opinion that you believe he was a failure. I myself think we would not have been in the last day relegation fight had he still been at the club last season. So Alpine is not correct in that one, as we have not again achieved the league position since his departure. Whether he was a success for us that could be questionable but he had a lot to deal with during his tenure.
