  1. but we dont know how it would have panned out in the long run.If I recall correctly when RL was ousted the first time a few of the better people in the acadamy were off as well. Jennings was head hunted and so was the guy who went to Liverpool but I still feel the concept had we stayed up would have worked well.It was just relegation destroyed the plan. Theo and Bale did save us from admin before now as their fees have propped us up the last 2 seasons.
  2. Rupert Lowe ,Prutton, Hiigingbottom Claus HR Wigley Sturrock Crouchie and all the other weak minded players who didnt have the backbone to stop 2 goal leads slipping away etc etc etc..........and also fans like myself who made a big who ha about Hoddle returning. Now of course there could have been better options than him but in principle I believe I was in a minute way responsible as well.It was definately a defining poit although we could go back a little further to WGS 's decision leaking out that he was not staying. There is a plethora of reasons RL being a large part but not the sole reason IMO
  3. I agree with that, but with a better squad than we had this season he nearly failed. i dont doubt he would have done better though
  4. I think you havent read all the others above you WSS, but it is good
  5. well they only had 1 in L1 and so 1 is the answer.
  6. A bit previous I suggest Robbie.I think we should see what we get from the ashes before deciding how clever some were to bring the regime down.
  7. I think we have done this all before. It will only end up as another anti Lowe debate which carries on being devisive.I do understand your thoughts though but it is best we leave it now.
  8. Dont you go on and on about it Ron. i heard you the first time
  9. that is a good observation
  10. Wotte walks away after missing out on the if Carlsberg did managers contract
  11. I never have said RL didnt have a big part to play in our demise but i wouldnt accept it was all down to him. A subtle difference. As for the car thing you are not who I thought you might be then
  12. you'll all be kissing his feet and singing his name when we escape from the drop. But that is funny.
  13. As far as i can assertain we do not have a coach at the club who is a chester fan, if we do they have kept it quiet
  14. It was a gamble and was IMO a major part in where we find ourselves today. I agree with Umps stance that it was due to our relegation that is why where we are but from my standpoint, you react to the current conditions, we had gone down due to a catelogue of errors by RL /squad/managers but when the decision was made to spin the wheel the people in charge knew the financial problems we were up against and the consequences if it went wrong. In a funny kind of way RL has been made a mug of by MW and the rest as he came back and will forever be the one who most will point thir finger at and the people who did the reclkless mistakes IMO can sit back and let RL take the flak.
  15. Ginge as i told you the other day I know Totton quite well and Tanyas (chopsticks) Station road is the best chinese takeaway around IMO. Ps do you drive an old Jag/bentley?
  16. I read that and couldnt be bothered to pull him up on it
  17. I had the impression it is very difficult to get money out of South Africa
  18. fantastic jesture well done Goodies.I know they have saints stuff on the walls of the shop in Totton
  19. Crouch and LM calling for support is likely to get some positive reaction RL doing the same would only prevent us selling more tickets. Surely LC etc should say look RL is no longer here come on back and join us again.
  20. Hes not buying us is he?
  21. we need to led from the land of despair into a feeling of hope. I really do worry we are just going to have more of the same but without the revenue streams that the stadium gave in the summer months and at other times due to conferences etc.
  22. it is also a lazy aguement to say NP got promotion as he is brilliant and not look at the underlying facts. He didnt have to cull the CCC squad on relegation as the chairman picked up the bill, add to that he was supported in getting some good loans in from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool. Yes he has done well but on a decent budget, it has nothing to do with defending RL it is down to the fact that he was well supported and also his own attributes. Please tell me if things had gone t###s up on the last day of last season when it was not in our hands would you still have thought he was a great manager, he was a lcuky manager at that time and that is a good attribute
  23. Im trying to look forward not back.We are now at a stage where we have no choice who runs our club (not that I have ever had a choice) .We have to accept that unless we get a football fan who wants to throw some money at us and not have to worry we will have a business first owner/owners again. This is something the fans will have to come to terms with. Surely we are not that cursed that we have another ceo that divides us much again.
  24. After the last 10 years of debating the rights and wrongs of the owners wanting to make profits and the CEO's etc getting dividends, would the fans now accept that the club's owners can take a decent profit and that it is not run for football only. It just seems to me we are going to be cut and shut and only taken on if we can be a juicy investment. I myself understand some profit should go to shareholders etc but will the wider fanbase now fall in line . Of course I dearly hope we get a proper benefactor who doesnt look for profit but IMO the way things have gone we are going to get more of the same.
