I read on teletext last night that their new ground has been shelved and so they are going to redevelop FP.They are going to extend 2 of their stands to increase the stadium to 30k.Is this the plan where they turn the ground around? The takeover must be going ahead then.

I look at west Ham and see them in the higher reaches of the PL and only being so due to fielding a player who should not have played. Perhaps RL should have signed Tevez and paid a paltry fine at the profit of still being in that league. It is said crime pays and whilst WHU have not been involved in crime it does seem that way to me. Even now if we could play someone legal or not and that kept us up it would be worth it. Of course had it been us we would be expelled , docked points and fined the national debt. WH with Brooking and half the media their supporters it doesnt happen to them.

we should buy him as we need his pace

As I stated if we had won a few more home games we would have been midtable. When I think it was Forest we had the chnace to be 10 points clear. Our away form was I think 2nd or 3rd best in the league it was the home form that did us in. At one stage a win would have pushed us up the ;league 4 or 5 places.Saying that Jan was the wrong man.If we had Wotte 4-5 games earlier i suggest we would be far better placed now.
-
but that was not necessarily the case Ump.We were clear of the relegation places and it was only our home form that kept us from being easily mid table. The costs were being cut and we were on course.RL did not act quickly enough when the wheels started to come off and it was fairly obvious that we needed to be tip top when we had the Donny and Forest games looming. In principle i could see what was trying to be achieved, we wrere mightily close to it coming off.2or 3 home wins under Jan and things would have looked better. It still may have failed but the pressure would have been less.I do accept that jan was not good enough as management material though
-
I would aim that at LC not so sure about LM though.I wonder who bought his shares and if they have been used to keep RL in power.
-
Of course that is from your side of the debate. I could counter that by saying you and all the fans who ran into the arms of the Wilde bunch put us back ten years.others will say that RL put us back 20 years by being relegated. It is all about where you view things. I was adamant that the Wilde bunch was not for us and whilst happy for Lowe to go, but only if we got a better alternantive. So far i have seen no evidence we have seen such a person.

Could you nominate it as im too modest to do so myself..thanks

It is so easy to reel them in.Lol. Ginge I have missed you the last few days, I think we must both have been busy because neother of us have been posting much

Oh god I used to find her strangely erotic in my formative years and now you have put that image in my mind
-
I see where you are coming from but it was the hostile Iam Billy Big Boots attitude that came with him that torpedoed any chance of that.
-
Not biased just stating it as it is.LC and LM have correctly decidied to stay out of the politics for the time being.I wonder why that is?
-
Do you see the irony in your post about the site being quiet and then constantly trying to make posters who add to the site feel uncomfortable in doing so in future. FC decides to put down his thoughts in a well thought out and argued manner, fair play to him.

that is all down to PR. Something the club were very slick on when we were in the PL. Visiting hospitals and going to schools is correct and probably done for the right reasons.Embracing the younger fans was done for the good reason of if you get them young they are fans forever.
-
I put it as I see it. I dont believe the club has really been interested in fans in the 40 years I have been going except for me paying as much as they could get from me. I understand that, and do except I am my own worst enemy in that. Of course the club want us a paying customers but why do they want us for anything more that that? Do you think McDonalds want their customers for anything more than to sell them a few more Happy Meals, their promotions and family friendly pitch is all about targetting those people IMO. Perhaps I have held it close to me from my childhood experience how we were treated by the club as kids and so that is where i have got my cynicism about it. As for the Parliament, i dont see what it could bring. Perhaps the burger bars will supply sauce in better bottles or th\at we alos may have Milky ways sold as well as Yorkies but I odubt it will have any say on who runs the club or who is installed as manager, rightly so by the way.
-
PR IMO, which is a difference
-
Not much to talk about. The 2 camps have called a truce , as in Crouch LM etc and so are not stirring the pot. The marches/protests have faltered and the fans in the main are being fully supportive of the team. This is what a united fan base brings. No doubt you will conjure something up to get the forum swinging. Or it might be that the anti Lowes are keeping a low profile as they want to play in the game and dont want to spoil their chances

CS, whilst i agree MW let us down we don't know quite whqat position the club was in financially at that precise time. i understand fans have no faith in RL's financial nous but I myself have to a degree. I think MW let us down when he first rode into town, at that stage RL was cutting costs and getting us sound before putting us in a position to push.I expect many will laugh at that but it is how I see it. Very few are privy to the 'Real' situation but I suspect MW realised he had to act to save his investment and the club that was on the precipice. I agree we are close to it again due to RL foolishly keeping Jan on for 4-5 games too long.If we stay up we will strengthen again. As I have put before RL allegedly has a 3 year plan, year 1 to stabilise year 2 to consolidate and year 3 to push again for the PL.
-
The whole thing is a farce. I cant see how any cross section of fans will get what we want.We cant even decide on here who has had a good game, each week
-
i dont see how the fans have been treated any differently under Lowe than they have since year dot.If you are gullible enough to believe that they are no more interested in you than they are any other punter then you are naive. We are cash cows, and if you really think that any football fan is seen as anything else im surprised. The clubs may say that we are important, but we are not and sadly like most businesses you are only as good as your last purchase. The fans wanted Lawrie gone, did they get it? they wanted Branfoot gone, did they get it? The list can go on and on, the club does as it wants always has done and always will do. yes it may make certain allowances but whether it was George reader, Crouch, Askham or Lowe its first priority was always to them

I remeber the name and had him in my sticker book of players in the 70's.

West ham away SU home FA cup 76. The tension of the Wimbledon home 0-0 when Mancity had pulled back from 2 down and Bally thought that was enough and so told them to defend rather than go for a win. lol. That was the closest we ever got going down without doing so and should have really as we were dire.

Thanks.I will go and find a copy.
