That is the bioggest Lol moment I have had on here for ages.If only you could see the irony of that post. Lllllllllllllllol

Well it depends really.Had GB had his whole tenure under RL no doubt the whole buying playing policy would have been different.I noticed when RL came back he complained that we had allowed Crainie, Blackstock to leave (not sure if he mentioned Mills). I may add that GB left us in a higher position in the league than we have been in 2 years and is now Scotlands manager. (whether he is right for that is another thing ,but professional people thought he was ) As for the sneering about the catering, what is wrong with supplying the customers good quality isnt that something that a lot whine on about? When that was said we were a PL club and had a thriving corporate business. The radio station was a great idea, having a radio station that was sending out the Saints message across the region even into enemy territory.I will tell you that if Pompey had their own radio station broadcasting into Southampton and we had never had the same , you lot would be on here saying why didnt RL spend a little of all that tv moey and do the same. The more i think about it the more I realise that all he did was not bad and so thank you for reminding me of those very good visionary ideas he instigated as well as the stadium the acadmy and alos getting rid of the free buses.

Mary Corbett felt "threatened" and "physically intimidated" by Lowe

Gordon i just enjoyed you being a little uncomfortable and couldnt help myself. After all you came on so certain to back up the original claim and were very convincing as well.Just goes to show how we all can be wrong and that a wrong word in print can unfairly damage, which spookily enough is what the whole thread was about. As for your admission of perhaps making a mistake, i for 1 respect that, as you could have easily muddled on and not admit it. As for your wit , I must have missed that event. -
IT has returned, after proving that IT disappears when things are going wrong only to return when the results have turned. LOL I suppose it was a 12 week vacation Lol

That article was very perseptive. It would be best that fans who ran into the Wilde bunchs arms be more careful that they criticise his views. He spoke out of the fevered masses to warn about their perils.Much like the whistleblower re the banks, nobody listened and look what happened.

Ottery I read in the Ottery Saint Mary Observer that the local OneStop store keeps running out of tissues. perhaps it would be best that you stopped thinking of me 24/7

Laying flowers. Its not Brighton FFS. Im all for peaceful protests but this is all getting a bit lame.

Very true Steve. i myself doubt that there would be much of an increase anyway, not enough to prove it for certain.I still think that there is less than 500 who would be that principled to miss watching the team they adore. This site is a barometer, last week it was bedlam and dissatisfaction, saturday night onwards there has been much more calm.Saturday night if we lose then we will be back to last weeks fun and games. It is results that will be the make or break of it all.

Perhaps the stay awayers should all turn up and stand by the Ted Bates statue. A lot would not gto and pay to 'put money in RL's pocket.' Surely by just making the effort to go and stand by the Bates statue would asleast show fans like myself who are sceptical that there is a large swathe of fans staying away due to RL. I have yet to have had a proper reply to why 32000 turned up to watch the Man u game when RL was the chairman this season.Surely that tells us what we have always suspected a large amount of fans only can be bothered to turn up for glamour games or opposition, it has very little to do with who is in charge.
-
That is a good idea. It would have to be against one of the less glamourous fixtures (not that there are many glamourous ones) eg not against QPR who bring a good following.
-
fair enough you dont agree Phil. You believe that RL or another is solely to blame or are they all innocent?
-
To be fair to LM and LC I doubt that many people would know for certain. It would be common sense to realise that the money would not be paid, but knowing whether it is distributed out to the other clubs would not be so clear.

He is rightly or wrongly in the top 2.If this site was going during the branfoot years then without a doubt in my mind Askham was.

quote from Wes Tender; 'Have we really found some common ground that unites nearly all of the fan base? Perhaps we should make this the subject of a separate thread, investigate the opinions of others and hold a poll on it. If that poll proves overwhelmingly that the mood of the fan base is that all of those with historic associations with the club as major shareholders are not allowed a seat on the board, then we can face those board members past and present and demand that they step aside to make way for independent replacements.e way the fans can unite again? [end quote] I myself have problems with many of the people who have played a part in the clubs demise. All the people who were involved(profitted) in the reverse takeover to now need to be gone if we are ever going to get unity. I dont wish to see RL gone and then the same old faces still feeding from the trough

I was told from someone at the club that to go into administration in time to get it all done to get the 10 point penalty this season it would have to be by the 26th Feb.That was by someone who would not be in the higher echelons of the club but may well of heard it from someone who was.I suspect people at the club do look at these things and so the staff who would be rightly worried ask the question.

So you muddled up Lowe and Hone. Lol and then come on and sermon us about questioning the wording and events that happened.Give us a break -

OldNick replied to jonah's topic in The Saints
All in all it seems that the wording was not quite 100% (no shame there) and that the majority of fans seem to wish the departure of all the main parties involved in the club. Jonah and Duncan have united the fanbase -

What a smashing idea that was.If the kids can be brought up to understand it is all a nonsense it can only be good.I myself take the mickey out of Pompey but I dont have a deeep hatred of them as we are all from Hampshire. I didnt see the footnote that after the victory the Pompey fans smashed their town up -

Duncan thankyou for clarifying that and a very good post that was more statesmanlike than biased. I may point out that the whole thread came about IMO due to the fact the words 'physically threatened' were used. That was of course behaviour that none of us could accept. Im glad that whilst you have not said the word 'physically' was not used you have withdrwn it from this piece.I will take it that it was not said and perhaps put up unadvisidly without really thinking about how it could be taken. Im glad you are still the clubs historian and still work promoting the history we are proud of. I wish for the whole directors box to be changed, not 1 gone but all gone including the people who have overseen the clubs direction for 30 years, without exception unless a damned good reason is put forward why not. -
Farcical. A representative of the Trust and a couple of Labour MP's. It sounds like the cast of the Wheeltappers and Shunters club. The club has set its course we now have to sit back and see what transpires.it would be madness to change it course at this time. Too many egos are involved and so until we get 1 person fully in charge we have to go on as we are.

I did say that Duncan is entitled to his opinion in my post. Perhaps Duncan does not care about being even handed and so has nailed his flag to the mast. What Iam suggesting is that if RL does not go as quickly as some think then perhaps all parties will be hurt.RL probably doesnt give a tinkers about having pictures of former heroes up, and Duncan doesnt want to sit in the same room but I myself would like a good museum at the club for fans to visit and perhaps if RL realised what an asset that would prove to be he may be more interested in having one. I get the impression after a conversation over the wek end that Rl is going to go the distance and so somethig has to give.A 3 year plan was mentioned and this is only the first. -

NC Iam not siding with Duncan on this as i was very perturbed by his statement.I just wish that the club could use his knowledge and contacts to provide a proper museum that embraces our history.I went on the stadium tour a fews years back was surprised that there were no pictures etc of Big Ron, Paine etc and even earlier players.Obviously LM 's shrine has been taken down but it is something that both sides should call a truce on. Duncan perhaps needs to understand that his position with the fans will be jeopodised long term if he does not become more even handed. Yes he believes that RL should go and that is his right but perhaps should also understand that there are many decent Saints fans who do not agree with that and dont like him using his position of respect to try and turn the arguement, sometimes to the hurt of the club. I recall when the Wilde bunch came on the scene and he posted about how he had been treated by RL. I noticed a massive turn around and doubt by fans who were undecided at that time. We all know what happened when they got their way and perhaps put the club back a further 3 years. -
Ive seen some real s#### at SMS this season but he beats the lot.I suspect BTF was wetting her knicks at him being there. No doubt she arranged for his visit.

i think he still is. the club use his knowledge and contacts and he gives good value for the very little he gets back. That may well have changed recently and i may add Duncan is very happy to help fellow fans to source info.I myself was grateful when he put me in contact with somebody when i was trying to find out when the RAF dog team and the policeman incident happened. He is a passionate Saints fan and whilst we dont see eye to eye on the politics of the club and some of his outbursts I respect him a great deal. I believe his passion for the club allows him to become misguided by people who should know better. The sooner RL understands what an asset his knowledge and contacts are and a proper Saints museum is set up the better.
