Are we better off than when Crouch was here?
OldNick replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
LS I havent heard any of that. Surely if the club need to increase the overdraft they have to get the banks permission. RL cannot just go on writing cheques. I may also add a few weeks back it was said on here that RL was not in charge anyway as he was basically being told by the special operations staff at barclays what to do. Therefore it doesn't square, whicjh one is correct, it is all very messy and confusing. I woud have thought RL was very much a banks man and so is part of their mindset and so would get on well. Could you give us a clue without compromising your sources what you mean about his ego upsetting the banks? -
I dont know. I assume that as SJ has gone then we can afford his appearance money or an agreement about it has been reached between him and the club. That i dont know but if my collegue up there is right Rudi is keener to play again.I didnt think it would be seen as a negative Mick.
-
A couple of weeks ago I posted that Rudi was going on loan to Ipswich. This came from a contact I have up there. I saw him yesterday and asked him why he gave me such a poor bit of info. He told me that now Rudi is playing he has changed his mind and wants to stay and play.Whether the club are happy with that our end i dont know but if Rudi is keen to get his heqad down and play then it can only be good for us

I think Giveitto Rons explanation of it was closer to the mark.

why didnt Pompey play, did HR take their invitation with him to Spurs?
-
The governor of the BOE gave a speech a few weeks back and in it he worded it that the banks should get their margins back, and at the time I said that it was a message that he would allow them to screw us all to get them back onto their feet. Some of my business collegues have been told that their unsecured overdrafts have gone up an EXTRA 4% and so they are paying 12-15% on the money. It will kill a lot of their businesses. As for LIBOR I can see why they cant cut their rates as if they are borrowing for 6% they cant lend to others for 4%.

Crouch is alleged to be on 80k a week, James perhaps 30-40k a week those players might not be very attractive to clubs in this climate on those wages. No doubt DeFoe is on massive wages as well, Pompey might not find it easy to rid themselves of such high earners and with all the nonsense about 'it was HR being the reason they joined, I believe it was down solely to £££££££££'s There you are Spasmodic, some transfer gossip for you that you say does not come up when the window has closed. You can go on the Man U site and taunt them that your new favourite team is going to sign Diarra.

the crowds have dropped at SMS by half, there have been a lot of sites pop up, the time between S4E and the web starting up meant some drifted to other sites etc etc.Add to that the poor results and fans cant be faffed to read all the depressing stuff. We need GB back that will get the site rolling or a good takeover rumour. If there is an event the first place people will look will be this site. also add the fact some resent paying £5 and so it is a lot of contributory factors IMO

Wow what a saddo you really are. Have you any friends in the real world? To spend time looking up things to try and make a point. Come on the site after a game or the next day with your stuff not 2 days later when you and your team are forgotten. As for Pompey in the top 10 thenm your memory is wrong as you were in the more in the early days of the season and only recently perked up, and so yes you did disappear when things were poor. Yes yes you were on holiday, no doubt the carer needed a break as well.

I understand your frustration Wes, and of course I know that you indeed are to be totally trusted by PM. The people involved may have been overcome by vanity/ego/or curiosity but I beleive their foremost reasons were for good reasons. I still say that if they were asked not to comment they were right not to do so. If it was of national importance then fine, but we are talking a football club and being a PLC it may be seen as sensitive information (it was very sensitive) Who else went to the meeting. I know Weston and FC did but was there a large group or just 3-4? -
yeah but......

Wes surely it is a case of utmost integrity. I have received and sent pm's on here and have always done so in good faith and all the posters have kept thier integrity. If you have a meeting and the proviso being it is private, then that is how it should be respected. All the SOS as far as I can see acted with integrity and should not be criticised for doing so. i was not a great supporter of it as it was always going to be a cosy group who would not be allowed to divulge information for legal reasons as much as anything, and so it is history and the people involved should be allowed to walk without any question. -
The 8m overdraft is old news I thought. Wasn't it mentioned on a piece on the clubs site?
-
Exactly, I would suggest that the government who are apart have been putting pressure on the bank to cut rates. It was their responsibility to keep the inflation rate under check, this has been thrown out of the window.

that berk who does Dragons den who was the BBC financial guru was telling earlier this year , 'dont worry houses are not overpriced and there wont be a fall'. I wanted to throw a brick at the tv at the stupidity of his statement. It will cost me financially as business is bound to get even harder. I cant see things improving for quite a time and if we see an upturn this time next year that will be a result. The pound weakening will help my exports but the home market will be dead in the water. Factor in that the majority of imports are paid in dollars and the pound has lost over 20% of its value and the cost of living is going up not down.

nothing in life is free, the poor bloke would have to face himself in the mirror the next day.

I think with Kylie it is access all areas with her anytime

bu###r how do you get those damn cartoony things to put up.I have only just managed how to put up the emotions on the threads.
-
MB it would be a bit of grit not stone for you to be able to lob it
-
Dear Boy, I dont look down on the flat caps as i was brought up in Shirley and went to a right State school. As you seem to feel you are somehow of less of a social standing as you think you are part of something that I associate with 't'up North' it is not my problem. I try to understand your position regarding Lowe but can't help feeling that he has done some good as well as not good things. As is being debated on another thread WGS was not perfect and LM the best manager in the clubs history made some terrible mistakes, but for that era i dont hold it against them. Lets move on
-
Yes and it would be the most sensible one I have ever taken part in. By the way wheres the stone you can lob into that glasshouse you live in
-
Look at the get out costs, it may work out a lot cheaper to take the medicine and move into a better deal.
