he was always a good keeper. Its just fans perception has changed. He came to us on the back of a load of Sunderland fans blaming him after they were relegated. His confidence was a bit low and yes he made a couple of clangers, but even then he was making saves to get us points. I hope now he will carry on how he has performed. Keep that phone switched off Kelvin

Arizona, you are right and I am sorry I put that, well the last bit especially

If the whole problem of banks afraid to loan to each other then adding inflation will not help the man in the street in fact it would draw them closer to losing their homes. So that will result in the unions demanding pay rises to keep up with inflation. The majority of the nation is helpless and have to watch and wait, the authorities should be getting the banks to tighten the credit card lending as the people are just extending the nations debts.the toxic costs of these debts will come home to roost as well as a lot of the people with these debts will sadly lose their jobs in the fall out from the current problems and so wont be able to pay back these incredibly expensive debts. What asset will the bank be able to take back from them, a second hand Ipod or tv a few pairs of trainers? It will hurt the economy to do so but sooner or later someone has to grasp the nettle. I beleive there will be a run on the pound and that will mean high inflation and that will bring the pain of the early 70's of the days of Harold Wilson funnily enough another Labour PM who thought he knew all the answers but couldnt see the signs of over spending and putting the nation in terrible debt.

I think the thread heading was unfortunate but it got the intended attention. Sky pick games that htey deem will be interesting and p erhaps crucial at the time they wish to screen it.At present it looks like a relegation 6 pointer and so they went fofr it.

If the banks go bust the mortgages will get paid to whoever picks the companies up. The assets are still there similar to Northern Rock the athorities take it on.Forget not that not all the morgages are defaulting and so it is only a percentage of the take,There are some good profits to be made for the banks left standing.

I understand your loyalty to this government BTF, but please do not insult my intelligence about a global problem. In fact you are doing yourself a great disservice because you are very very bright and shouldnt fall for that nonsense.it is not just the American sub prime market, that is just a smokescreen. We as a nation have borrowed and been alloewed to borrow for many things and gone well beyond our means. NO2 to Maybush is spot on the government has hidden so many of its borrowings with the PFI scheme that we dont know what TOXIC debt they have behind the scenes. Who was overseeing our own financial people lending 125% mortgages? The British balance book is far worse than the US's as they have products resources to sell wheras we have veryt little left.Go to a car boot sale and see all the tables filled with cheap plastic toys and Franklin mint plates etc and that is a microcosym of where our oil revenue wasted has been wasted for decades. The governemnt is supposed to be our custodians and this one has let you me and our children down.

and after they did it, they did what to stop the short trading happening again? Nothing, and just let them carry on the same way. it is negligence, but of course the government needed the taxes to come in on the back of all the madness going on.I sold my house 3 years ago to downscale price as I could see it was going to be a pack of cards to try and save a lot of my gain, I moved a year too soon I know. Now if I could see it and many of other people could why didnt the powers there to protect us. Of course it was just another cosy club where the governemnt who were running the economy on stamp duty , capital gains, vat etc could not get off the roundabout as they were worried about their ratings and how clever their financial prudence was . The bankers in the city were left to get on with just buying these toxic packages as it was a passport to 7 figure bonuses and they didnt care who got hurt as they are now insulated from the hurt. My daughters partner was made redundant yeaterday they have bought a house and are to be married next year. Im fairly bitter about all the people who should have reigned us back 2-3 years ago and just stood and watched and now are trying to blame world pressures not the fact that they should have stopped it. The oil going up and food prices have nothing to do with the credit crunch

I accept that, and happy to move on. I beleieve whoever is in charge of the club at present would have had to go down a similar route to keep us from administration. If you can come up with a plan that cuts the £100s of k losses a week and get some more quality players in I and no doubt the club would be delighted.
-
its amazing how a change of club can change things. Richard Wright was poor at WHU came to us and was very good he goes and joins Ipswich and he has made a series of howlers. Golakeeping is a real up and downer.
-
you also have to add on a percentage who have forgotten they did it earlier and enjoy it more with Parkinsons after te old man has gone.

Wes in this league there could be many on certain days.A few weeks ago we could have said Derby and Blackpool but they both have improved. We need to wait a little longer to make a better assessment.
-
lol, although that culd be aimed at many of us.
-
I think that is a valid point.Without him I assume there would be no TSW
-
I hope that all goes well for you Snowballs, we all need to see that it is only a bag of wind being kicked around by a load of overpaid primmadonnas, and that would put it ll into perspective.

what home games are those then Man u home or blackburn home?
-
what was the crowd yesterday ? I did notice a few empty seats. FWIW I thought it was a poor game and was surprised how poor both sides were.Diarra was the best player on the pitch and Jenus the most overrated , why he handled god knows. He is a liability and Spurs on that performance should be worried. They took off Zokora who was the only person fightng for the ball. The Spurs keeper whilst makinga couple of good saves he does knock the ball forward back into play and Crouch took advantage.I also thought Crouchie was a shadow of the player he was when I last saw him. He looked lost.

JS so well put how could I argue.I put it as I see it. I also have not seen the Saints win this season, hopefully that will end tomorrow.
-
Gordon I am impressed that you have the fibre to admit you were wrong and prepared to say so.Good on you, now I have to find something else to argue about with you
-
Your views mean as much as mine Snowballs. as for your last para it could be viewed as the other way around from my side.Do you not think that the intentional windups by the very antis/negative fans do not make the more Rl way posters be extra motivated because of such things?

you see that posts like this is how Scooby is so effective. You obviously get wound up about 'flat caps, etc and dont see how easy you are to wind up because of it.Your user name Fan the Flames gives the impression that you are there to make debate but then dislike it when a poster gets under your skin.I think it is fair that you say I lean to the RL arguement, and will concede that but I was one of few voices who questioned the Wilde bunch (not as people confuse the fact that not wanting Lowe gone at at all costs but only ewehn there is a better option) and warned that they were carpetbaggers and showed little substance as their promises didnt seem to add up.It seems some cannot see that because I understand the course RL is taking makes me like all he does. I disliked him enormously when he wanted to bring back GH and was prepared to hand my s/t in (whether id have gone through with it, I cant say) that doesnt mean I can't see when he has got some things right and I also am bright enough to understand rellegation was not down just to him. Scooby says things i dare not say!! I dont say a lot of things Scooby says because some of it I dont agree with as its nonsense.I was born in Shirley and went to state school, I dont care about references to flat caps etc because it doesnt worry me. As for being a nasty s###, if you met me you no doubt would think the same, others wouldn't its all how you perceive somebody over an internet forum.I myself could easily judge you by your outburst but dont as I know from experience that people come over differently in the real world than behind a computer screen.

I know that a couploe of the staff at the club were pleased with the support and thought they were superb, as do I

Im sorry if the truth does hurt HillHead I didnt mean to offend

At the time of RL not keeping NP I felt that it was a mistake. Not neccessarily football wise but it would be used as a stick to beat the club if whatever followed was not a success. Perhaps he wasw being obstinate and wanted his own men, or didnt feel that NP was going to buy in 100% none of us know, but he made the decision and we have to get on with it.I only know the meerest of scraps about our finances, the little bits I do know are very disconcerting and so am pragmatic enought to try and understand the decisions taken. We have fans still harping on about not keeping GH!! and so I doubt that the fans very pro NP will be quietened for years. If we do ok in the coming months those voices will be heard less but if things go downhill they will get more confident and louder.RL I suspect would have factored that in but it is an issue. I myself was very indifferent about NP his major advantage to me was not about his managerial abilities or his passion on the sidelines but the fans were behind him and so we had a btter chance to get behind the team.
