Sorry to pee on the party but caution needs to be taken here.He has signed a 3 year contract, that will not make him immune to being sold if an offer comes in.Look at Berbatov or Kenwynne, all it does is secure a good price for him for the club if we get an offer him.
-
I think he will play as always fully committed and doing his best for the team.I suspect that he may do quite well.Hammil will do his best as well, the step overs have been missing in our entertainment this season, after all it gives the time for the defence to organise.
-
If that is the case I was anti club up to the change. Its not how I see it though. LC tried to do well for us but it just wasnt correct at the time IMO

Your generation must find it harder tro accept relegation than fans of mine who saw us reelegated under LM. We have tasted the disappointment of relegation but also enjoy the rebirth and promotion.Different days of course, the bile was aimed at LM not the chairman of the day. To be born and never knowing the club outside the PL must be hard and so I must try and remember that when I read some of the anti Lowe nonsense. Iwas lucky to sample the joy of the cup final victory the promotion and the great days of the early 80's, I hope fans like yourself who saw a modicum of success in the 90's/early 2000s get reward with sticking with the club. Perhaps as I have experienced this all before that Im more tolerant of our position..or worn down over the decades.

Perhaps it is a small section of fans who need to change their spots. Iwatched SSN this morning and Tony Gale was on talking about WHU and he spoke about prudence and balancing the books. He mentioned that the previous chairman had overspent and now players would have to be sacrificed to balance things up. They are in the so-called land of milk and honey and have to, so why get all het up because we are doing so in the CCC.

This thread has degenerated by a thoughtless post by SB. At times he has been misunderstood and unfairly treated but as before his criticism of DW is not called for. DW's pieces in the Pink are always balanced and far from being political, I doubt if he put himself forward to do it but was invited and so it is outrageous to take that flak.SB you should apologise, it would make put in a better light(not that you worry) but most of all it would show you do have humility to other peoples tradgedy. I have mixed feelings today as a close friend has just had a colonostomy after his course of chemo and there is no sign of any further intrusion, that is great news, I then come on and read DW's position and feel saddened. I said when Daren mentioned the club not getting back to him that it was a disgrace, and I cant see why they wouldnt allow him to do collections on the clubs property.Although there would be nothing to stop collections on the roads up to the ground. DW I hope you find time to post but with your family matters, the piece in the Pink and other commitments you probably haven't the time. Chin up you know the vast majority if not 99.999% of fans are right behind you.

Oh FFS Scooby will love that post, so some people are shareholders (not me) and they in the past have had a dividend (not much) so what. If you hold to those principles you couldnt leave the house buy a tv, buy a car, food, clothes etc etc etc. Why is it different for a football club? Football has to make profits or what is its point. You dont get 20000 people going to watch non league amateur football.

I myself am seen as very pro Lowe but I have never defended his decision to try and bring back GH. Stupidly I still do not regret my stance against him, even though we are now in a lower league. If RL had suceeded in bringing him back I was going to hand my s/t back.Whether i would have been able to never go and watch Saints again is hard to tell.No doubt the pull of the club would be too much and Id return.I recall at the time that RL was going to install GH just before the Pompey game and if we had beaten them many of us would warm to him again.. Iam very loyal until I am let down and so I suspect I would be a rabid anti RL now if he had employed GH. That is how I see it, whether I would have made such a sacrifice and just shrugged my shoulders and got on with I really wouldnt be aqble to say for sure.

Yep but Ill be wearing my lead filled glove.
-
I remeber that day, although I didnt go.Brian O'neill and Osgood scored if I remeber correctly in a 3 -0 victory.Too little too late , it was the defeat home to Brum that cost us that season
-
He does and so do I. If he as lucky as me then we are both happy. My wife did laugh when I told her your observations of me.
-
Shhhhh you are not supposed to ask difficult questions.I doubt that many on here were around in those days. I do understand that if fans have been brought up only seeing top flight football it is harder for them than the fans who have seen the highs and lows of relegation and promotion.
-
No its not, 3 clubs a season go down from the PL and so are are all thise chairman to blame? It is down to many factors, you have to take the rough with the smooth.
-
Oh thanks I don't watch it. i might flickover to it later.
-
Seeing that picture I wouldnt worry they'd look like bookends together if my glimpse of MB is anything to go by

the girl from heroes is near on a midget. Sarah Dunn (ex Hollyoakes) Kiera Knightly although she is too proper Rachel Welch in her prime Julie Christie likwise. and a former Page 3 girl called Sian Adey Jones I know it is supposed to be 3. Who is the Duffy girl?

SSN said this morning that he had chosen Pompey. He was offered 80k a week by Man c.

its like reading Viz or Private eye. Glorious stuff Scooby. Can you put owning pidgeons and ferrets in one of your posts, or shove ha'penny.?
-
Exactly Mickey, and as for the sanctimonious replies to my comment...
-
It is serious of course but as has been stated I was answering when we had been told that MC was not in a serious life threatening condition and his son was safe. Only now do we know the other facts and SSN news had sensationalised the heading to gain attention. If it had been a car crash involving 2 Joe Soaps, it would not have been on SSN and you would not be making such comments.
-
That is something I read on this is Hampshire just now. The SSN bit was about MC and as much as I feel for the driver it was not the thrust of the story and sadly these things happen on our roads everyday. My initial concerns were allayed as we were told they were not life threatening injuries and so I was annoyed that my fears were raised about an old hero of mine, and that was not quite accurate how it was portrayed.
-
All very fair.Of course it would add to other revenue streams if fans turned up. The club shop would generate more, more pies and Yorkies would be sold, more beer sales. That would all add to the health of the club.It wouldn't cure it all but perhaps give the banks and potential investors some faith in us.

Saints sign young Czech striker Tomas Pekhart on loan from Spurs
OldNick replied to Wildgoose's topic in The Saints
and were you one of the fans who thought Holmes was no good because the Derby fans had said so? Give the bloke a chance he may be rubbish but so far Jans/RL's (take your pick who chose them)signings have been good. -
FFS was that a sensationalist bit by SSN? My understanding of a injury in a serious road crash is not a broken arm
-
There is a difference Mike. The principles should be there the whole period of his stewardship. It is not about RL getting us to Cardiff or him being responsible for relegation. If you have principles and hated RL the same should be held then and now, not pick and chose.Im not saying you are by the way but in general.
