Yep IMO Bond knows too much and HR wants to keep him sweet. His loose tongue nearly got HR in the mire after the Panorama thing.
  3. This deal summed up for me what is wrong with football.During the summer man u were complaining about Real Madrids actions and then do the same to spurs. Theyu even at the end got spurs to agree not to go forward with their complaint to the PL.
  4. Are you hoping for some Mounties while you are over there Pes? Or are you past it
  5. keep them coming as far as Im concerned. It is far better than having that other p#### coming on here .At least PES has a sense of humour.
  6. what I cant work out is how you saw him being taken off as he was subbed at half time!!!!!!
  7. These star players normally have an high appearance fee built into their contracts. I would suggest that the club cannot justify paying these at present. The whole loyalty payments, appearance money, bonus for goals, win bonusses and signing on fees really need to be addressed by all of football. Berbatov etc have now shown that the contracts are worthless to the club who owns the player and the authorities toothless to do anything about poaching players. To me the contracts only protect the players interests if they dont perform/injured and then are torn up when the player wishes to go. I realise that the contract gives the club a chance to get a fee, but if you add up all the costs of the others that are not saleable anymore then you lose more than you gain.
  8. as Greenridge says the loan window opens and then some more will go.The loan market is becoming a big part in football. More and more deals seem to be test it and see. Selling the middle range players is going to become harder with only the cream worth massive fees.
  9. Iam nice to him, I dont put him on ignore
  10. you better not
  11. . It happened at half-time on 11th Nov 78 when Saints drew 2-2 with Norwich.
  12. oops, be back in a minute
  13. as I put elsewhere. KD is said to be wanted by Everton( although he more than happy here), JE is said to be going to Sheff Utd and Rudi ipswich.
  14. TO all interested in this event that was debated a few weeks back. With thanks to Tim Mann ,Gary Chalk and Duncan Holley for their help. I was wrong it was later than I thought,so apologies to those who were sure it was around this date.. The RAF were running a dog display demonstration on the pitch with all the usual dogs jumping through hoops of fire, over walls etc. Eventually they got a man with a briefcase - and his arm wrapped with padding - to walk across the pitch. Then a 'villian' ran on the pitch, fired a blank and grabbed the briefcase before running off. At this point a sergeant, who hadn't been watching but who was at the side of the pitch, thought it was for real and started to run on the pitch. He was right in front of me, I was standing under the East stand towards the Archers Rd. He was waving his colleagues to join him but they wisely decided they weren't getting involved. Eventually the announcer said, "would the police officer please leave the pitch, this is a demonstration". He walked back to the side of the pitch but of course the crowd were howling derision so he decided it was best to leave. He walked all down the side of the East and along the Milton before going up beside the tunnel. As he walked every section of the crowd were cheering and laughing and by the end he was waving like he'd just scored a winning goal.
  15. I suggest Davis to Everton JE to Shef u and Rudi to Ipswich. Nothing is certain in life of course. I myself hope that Davis stays and JE would be useful to shore up midfield as the season goes on.

It was proved that a keeper unless he moves as the ball is being taken does not have time to react to what direction the player shoots. It was done on tv and I think they used Shilton, where he used to like to wait but had a terrible record saving penalties. I think that htey compared him to Cooper from Ipswich and was good and he used to try and choose and body shape. It takes a brave kkeper not to dive one way or other as the fans would really get on his back if he stood and hoped they were going down the middle.
  18. You fell for that trap Aintforever.
  19. The fact is if Stern had put away the header to make it 2-0 v Brum and Lallana put away either of his chances we would be 6 points better off.
  20. Whats his name?......... kidding. She no doubt read my post and took the advice from someone who understands footie
  21. Who have you drawn then?
  22. Well I didnt see all those chances he set up.I do remember a pathetic attempt at a shot, being caught with the ball on many occasions and his crosses going to the other side of the pitch and going for a throw, apart from that he was world class and he wasnt even quick

Imagine if RWright had never been to play for us and we were chasing him now. What would the Ipswich fans be saying to us about him after his 2 c### ups in the last couple of games?
  24. What a strange thing to think!!! I was pointing out that many of our players have done these things and we supported them.Is drunken driving not as bad as stealing? In an ideal world we would like a team of Snow Whites but a football club is a slice of society. 100% though I abhore what he did but we are tied to the laws of the country and if he serves his time he is supposed to be free of that crime.Whether community service is right, now that is a different debate.
  25. Who has seen Peckhart play? So all of a sudden he is a match winner and our own player should be dropped. We had the same debates last season when Hammil was the 'star' and would win goames for us. We let in the first goal and whoever did so was likely to lose in that heat. Had we taken our chances today some fans would be saying that we only beat them because they were relegation certainties. One poster on another thread said that they would make the playofffs! A young team is always up and down, at the moment more down than up but we all knew that we had a tough start and many would not have said we would have any points at this stage.
