  4. we shouldnt look a gift horse in the mouth.I have not read the proposals just Alps one liner.I doubt MW is going to buy out RL because to do so he has to buy out all his allies ASkham etc and that would put him above the 29% and so have to make an offer for the club(i think im right in that)
  5. when he was deposed the silk purse still had some silk left on it, when he returned the silk had been removed the sows ear was rotting and the hire purchase had gone up not down
  6. for heavens sake yes and then we took on Wright, Euell, Perry and Luketti all would have been on high wages not forgeting Davies and thomas a few months before.I defended GB for his management but he was left to be a loose cannon and able it seems to buy/loan others included of course when it was obvious seeing UMP figures that it was suicidal madness.
  7. I did not exonerate him from blame. You see what you want to see. RL did not score the goals that got us to the cup final and so he doesnt get the credit for it. What I do point out is that fans who say 'I will not support saints while RL is there' were happy to when things were good and didnt have these high fuluting attitudes then. The same as he wasnt the one who ****ed up game after game in the relegation season. Yes he was part of the problem but not 100% like many try and portray.
  8. Wow a post where you didnt crave for adminsitration. By the way I dont beleiev the players have lost their faith in him.
  9. I dont know why I have bothered replying, but it does sometimes it doesnt other. We have a fan base that expects victory with style,if the style fails we want victory with ugliness.Sadly it is hard to provide it in any form.I myself still enjoy watching the ball being played on the ground and with intricacy.Sometimes it fails (a lot recently) but when it flows it looks damned good. I am happy to stay up and if we manage that and play good football then thats fine by me. Next season we will then be older tougher and better plsaced to move on.
  10. hey 1965, I think that could be said for a lot of us on here.
  11. Snowballs, to a degree what you say is true especially the bit about thier confidence.Do you not think the messages boards are read by these lads and seeing what a lot of fans are saying about them doesnt knock them further. I know it will be'well they are professionals and they get paid lots of money' bla bla bla but we as fans or should I say 'supporters' should support them not kick them when they are down.
  12. nice one Phil. On the bright side I think we may have insurance for Thomas and Euell and so their wages may be out of the equation for a while. What worries me is when Rasiaks comes back onto the payroll. If Rudi's appearance money is stopping him being picked Im damn sure Rasiaks even higher one will stop him as well

as much as I enjoy their defeat. They will be fine and finish top half.I did think thye would finish 5th or 6th but I have lost a bit of faith in that.
  15. I dont think hes accepting defeat but pointing out that others have fallen.Losing in the cup for me is a blessing in disguise as we need the players fresh for league games.Donny will be fresher than us due to them not playing this week, that s not helpful IMO
  16. All valid but your arguement about us losing the Pl money and so it is Rl's fault is not how I see it.You may as well say that he should have budgeted for CL monies and because that revenue stream did not appear that was a factor. You have to budget (as you have agreed) to the likely income. Windfalls that have been and gone cannot be taken into account.Yes we had a shortfall first season how would a club that had been geared up to PL after decades, have its costs slashed within months is impossible.People are under contract. When GB was appointed his remit was to trim the high wages. This is evident in the 2nd seasons wage bill, and that was the treansition time when the new people took over. i dont care if it was Hone, Wilde,LC who was making the decisions the whole board must have passed a lot of the spending. The panic buttons should have been pressed as soon as any of the board saw the figures. It should have been acted upon instantly. No it didnt happen but in fact we took on other players whether it be in loans or signed on high wages. Its madness and all due respect UMP Im sure you wouldnt run your life the same way as you seem too smart for that.(unless my judgement is wrong!!! but its not) I am not saying relegation has not cost us but that after a disaster happens you have to make provisions and whoever was left in charge did not do their job.
  17. no we would never lose a game 5-0 or worse under them would we?
  18. Tamesaint, you may have the answer that the others cant put forward, tell us how you cut us losing £100'sk a week, keep the high earners, get in better players, and stop us going into admin anyother way.Im keen to know how it could be done.
  19. your disrespect is not becoming. For someone who must have been going for a long time I would expect to understand a bit more especially after some of the dross served up to us over the years.
  20. Style and Panache!! is not what I associate you with Pes. After all you got excited driving a Volvo.that Fiat Punto ( was it?)must seem lumpy now you are home. I do hope you enjoy your game tonight, i msure it will be full of joy for you.......ohhhhhh. Were you singing Harrys name tonight and asking him to give you all a wave?
  21. What you have to remember with the upper classes is that bug#### is part of character building. It will be water off Scoobys back.Anyway I find him amusing and hope he carries on posting.

WELL corp will love you, like a divorce you can keep the kid.I hope you will be happy together.
  24. Look UMP I dont feel like getting into a long arguement again , but surely you have to react to the situation as it is, not as it might have been.Forget the relegation as that was an event that has indeed cost us but also you have to take into account all the extra money by us staying up and the extra attendances at the new stadia. The boards responsibility is to react to the time and to the future, we cannot keep harping back to what may have been if we were in the PL , many clubs go down but then they act responsibly to the new factors. The figures you give (thanks for that ) really do show how irresponsible the people running the club have been. Personally i dont care who they are. We as a club knew our budget and so should have cut the cloth accordingly and patently it wasnt done. It is not your fault and not mine but the custodians of our club that were reckless and we are now paying for it emotionally. The wage bill should have been cut drastically, period. Interestingly, and i dont wish to be partisan in this is that the 2nd season the wage bill had been trimmed 3m. Now I have always argued that GB remit was to sell off the players to reduce the wage bill, would it be fair to say after RL was deposed those constraints were lifted (for popularity) and that is why the wage bill went back up again?
  25. A good arguement Vectis. I understand your frustration that is held by both sides.Yes the powers that be are responsible for the teams put out and so that contributes to the fans slipping away. What must also be appreciated by us is that the powers that be have a responsibility to keep the club alive financially. If it wasnt RL and it was anyone else their first job is to keep the banks on board.Does anybody not agree with that? There may be many ways to skin a cat but our cat is very skinny with no meat. The club decided the best way shortterm to give us longterm health is to play a team of youngsters who would have a wage bill dramatically reduced that should be able to compete. It seems the fans have lost faith quicker than the players, but to be fair at SMS the fans have been briliant it appears the ones on here have lost their nerve quicker. If and its a big if, we can avoid administration that is like winning 10 -15 points. So we need to avoid relegation this season and then regroup. Then we may go on from there, you never know somebody may appear and buy us as they see the bottom line improving. RL is not popular but he may have been partly responsible for relegation but so much of our current debt is not down to him and he is trying to regain ground lost after he was deposed. I wish it was somebody else but none of the last lot because they didnt have a stomach IMO to do what was needed to get the club back on track. It is going to be a tough season there is no doubt about that, but stay up and that is a terrific result.
