  1. I can grasp the concept, but I did ask of you a question, and I'll have to get all John Snow here. In your opinion, what is Lowe doing wrong, that you would recommend that you would do, if you were him. Please feel free to base your answer on all information in the public domain, and I am fully understanding of the restricted nature of any answer you may give.
  2. And thanks to you too. At least i have the Saintweb forum to give me a small distraction away from life's little ills, and a trip to SMS to keep the blood pumping through my heart.
  3. Then can I say that this is a throw away statement until the end of the season. You can't compare a team after 6 games with one after 40. I think the statement is that there is a feeling of hope, believe and actual care and concern from the team in how they play, rather than those of previous years. You don't mind losing so much, and it takes the sting out of it a little, when you see that the team has poured heart and soul into the match rather than given a half arsed performance once we go a goal down. And NO ONE likes to lose, especially me. When our kids try out at sports day and lose, do we call them 'stupid little ****s,' and give them a slap? When they are running do we shout at them, 'come on you lazy little bastard ****ing move?' No, we don't. We should encouragement. My daughter came in 6th in her sportsday this year in the running race, out of 12. Last year she was 11, and it's the same kids, they are only a year older. At least she kept trying when 5 other kids over took her and I encouraged her. Well, Saints lost 4-1, they kept trying and I encouraged them. I cannot physically make them play better, I cannot score goals for them, or stop goals comming in. I cannot afford to buy the club, nor can I purchase a new striker or midfielder for them. I cannot clear their debts, I cannot get rid of Lowe or Wilde, and I cannot manage the team better than JP. All I can do is go to the games so that I don't strangle them of funds to get better, and try and make them MENTALLY play better, together with 15,000 like minded individuals. I can also sit here, in the anonimity of my office many miles away and moan, verbally attack other posters, slag off Lowe, the team, JP and our position in the league safe in the knowledge that I don't have to be constructive, helpful or in anyway positive, and that I can use my hatred of Lowe to bend, twist and pervert any discussion from is Dyer any good, to Should John start, to are the Pies as good as they used to be to a veiled attack on him. I enjoy a good debate and I always put 'please discuss with a cogent, well thought out and constructive manner' as I really do hate posters who say, '..... because you're an idiot' and don't explain WHY i am an idiot. Be honest, there are plenty on here that will snipe, but wont enter a debate or answer any question on the open forum. Now cue many a wonderful post saying that I am an idiot, and why. Can I say in preparation that you are all very drole, very funny and I love you all.
  4. Many thanks.
  5. How about you pretend to be Lowe and tell us how YOU would sort it out, with the givens we have? You very rarley answer the questions put to you, and when you answer you are very scathing and not constructive. Over to you. And don't think I am having a go, but I really am interested.
  6. Yes, that's the spirit.
  7. I am too. My dog is very ill and I have to pay the vets bills, I am having a few problems at home with the misses, the credit crunch is starting to crunch, my company don't have a job for me to go to after the one I am on has finished, the Job I had an interview for can't now accomodate me. Russia is resurging, my lad wants to join the army, my dad isn't looking too parky, someone keeps keying my car. Football, and saints, don't frighten me. More concern, disappointment and adulation, with a calm realism.
  8. Sorry OBS, but I'm gettng mixed signals here. First you are saying we are in a relegaton fight and now you are happy with a draw. I think that as opposed to last year where you had the Positives, (we're going to walk this league) and the negatives, (we're going to end up relegated and in admin istration) you know have a third way, the realists, ( we are happy to stay here and build for the future as we have no choice). So which camp, we going to win the championship,we're going to get relegated,or we're going to do enough to stay here? Remember, and you know who you are, cogent, well though out debate only please.
  9. No it isn't That s because you can see a glimmer of hope when.............ah forget that. Let me just say, we can't get any worse. i have commented on how impressed I have been with the change in atttude of the team.
  10. I have also got to say, and I have said it in the past, that I don't think Lowe would, in the long run, allow this tbh as the egotistic c u next tuesday wouldn't want to blow his nest egg. He is thinking long term, as a business man, and he is enjoying rubbing our noses in the **** along the way no doubt. I think that we just need to see how JP pans out as he is all we got, and a old fashoned hard nose would just bring in a number of also rans again that we couldn't afford. And whose to say they would even want the job. We who watched the football recently say that we enjoy it as, unlike teams recently, the ones playing for us are AT LEAST TRYING, and you can see that from the way they continue to play when their backs are against the wall, as they did on sunday. And for once the popular press and Dowie agreed. They don't need their legs cut from beneath them from the likes of us.
  11. **** it. Sack the manager, sack the board, don't play the youngsters but get ANY loan player in as quick as possible. Then repeat in 3 month. Then repeat in 3 months. Then repaet in 3 months. As this has worked in the past.
  12. I hope we sign Daryl Bluejacket. Oi Oi Savaloy
  13. I agree here as well.
  14. I aint going down the road again as I started a thread about this, but come on, lets give it a bloody chance shall we. I saw, on Sunday, a team losing 4-1 and the last attack was from us. They didn't give up. We lost, but all I could do was think, 'What a shame', not 'You ****ing bunch of stupid, lazy, over paid bunch of lazy useless ****.' I even gave Kelvin some credit.
  15. I've just had a bit of a scary thing. I'm Anti-Lowe I've posted My dog has just had to have an emergency operation at the Vets. If I was a Pro-Lowe, i'd be keeping my head down.
  16. She was as well!!!!!!! I don't know what she was doing out of the kitchen. Point taken. Edit Done.
  17. And I am still liking your jib. This is the point I have tried to make. Losing hurts, but less so because you can see the team cares. Age is irrelevant, but caring matters, and it just happens to be that some happen to be youngsters due to the simple fact that they have been here for years and have come through the ranks. There may been ex-saints out there that have moved on and look at the team and wish they could be part of that when they were here but the situation made them become mercenary. I amn sure there are still some, like Le Tiss and Franny, who would welcome a home. I still would like to win though.
  18. Thanks Wes. I think we are of the same mind. I want promotion too as that is where the future has to be and I don't want relegation or administration. I just hope that if JP starts a few of the old hands, Like Wooten and John, with the spirit the youngsters have we can do just enough to stay here for now, but have something to build on next season, or even just enough to get in the top six. But as Lao-Tsu once said, 'A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.' And I like the step we have taken. ( and before anyone starts shouting out that Confucius said it, trust me he didn't.)
  19. Yes I would as my intention was to generate a lively debate and try and express what my emotions were, but had trouble coming up with the words that would do justice to the emotion I am trying to convey. and I just can't bring myself to say 'Lets get behind the team, woot, COYR.' I would not say it was over the top or lacking perspective as when we lost last year i was quite annoyed at times with the team and managment and would shout and swear and curse. We lost on Sunday and I actually said, 'What a ****ing shame, at least they played their hearts out and tried'. Did anyone say that last year in Honesty? We can all say we were unlucky at times, but I enjoy watching them now, because they are really playing for something. We have had the journeymen, and still have a number as well who have not played with the passion you would expect from them. Rudi seemed to before he came, Sag in the first season, even BWP and II. You can blame the manager but only to a certain extent. That would be nice as long as the older heads don't influence the younger ones, and that I what I would like also. Wes I enjoyed your answer and have taken the time to respond, but your last sentance in bold comes in the 'Well,Duh' as no one would want that, especially me, and I don't understand the point being made here. I just want to say that I am hopeful with what I have seen and I am willing to give just a little more time, (Get thee behind me, 'Gelling' statement), in the hope that, as others have pointed out, the wrinkles can be ironed out. Finally, lets try and stamp out the New Season, New Team, New Manager, New Board merry-go-round that we are on.
  20. As he said. i like the cut of your jib.
  21. The Dunkirk spirit was a feeling that even with our back against the wall, and nothing to look forward to, we kept going on. We didn't give in. We didn't shout and boo at the troops coming back from France and we didn't give up during the Blitz. This is my point for you with limited intelligence. Lets not shout and bawl at a team that keeps going even when 4-1 down. Oh, and for those that say, 'I want to see us win every week in the premiership,' may I just say, 'Well, Duh!!! and please wipe the spittkle from your chin' The expression 'No ****, Shurlock' also springs to mind.
  22. And every time a pro-Lowe poster posts makes the baby Jesus Cry!!!! We just cant win
  23. 1. Because I didn't want to just hide it away, I wanted to start a debate before the 'boo boys' got involved. 2. Did I not make the statement that I couldn't beleve I was invoking the Dunkirk spirit. Now please answer the following 1. How is this a constructive?
  24. That I have always maintained, wether it be Saints or the England team, that I would prefer to see a bunch of kids work their socks off for 90 minutes, and lose, that a bunch of over paid, over hyped over aged prima donnas just go through the motions. ANd win or lose I just have to say that this is what I saw last night. I don't like losing. I don't want us to continue how we are at the moment. I have grave concerns as well. But, I am man enough to say that the team are what I asked for, and I am very proud of them in not giving up yesterday, as they kept moving and pushing. It must be starting to affect their confidence at the moment. But I for one will not boo and crucify them for what they have done so far, as they are playing their hearts out at the moment. I think they are a better team than that we had last year, to be fair. And I hope that if I manage to not undermine them when they are playing, they will come right again and start winning a few. Just a little analogy for you who will look to shoot me down. Western Europe invaded and over run. Outnumbered in the Air 2 to 1. Outnumbered on the ground 3 to 1. A little Island stood alone against this and when any other nation would have said 'We give in, please don't hurt us!' actually stood and said, 'Ah, **** it. Come and have a go.' After transferring in a few loan signings from the commonwealth, didn't do too bad in the end. I just had to say it, that's all. There is nothing wrong in trying your best and never giving up, even if you don't succeed. Now please discuss using cogent, well thought out constructive statements, especially where I am envoking the 'Dunkirk' spirit, as I can't believe I am doing it either.
  25. I think that Jan should concentrate or sorting out what we do up the other end. We can't afford to let in goals, but if we can just finish a bit more clinically we could at least outscore the opposition. Give SJ a start. Give Rudi a kick up the arse and bring him down to earth and tell him that NO-ONE wants him, only us, and if he wants to continue with his career, especially internationally, he needs to be on the bigger stage and SHOW what he can do.
