  1. Is it true that Draper Tools are the main shirt sponser again? Be glad to be rid of the gambling crap tbh. I think we were the only club outsdide the big 6 that didn't have a bookie with aap3, Veho and Virgin since the first return to the prem, until we did of course. Anyway, as my first Saints memories are from the early 80's then the home Rank Xerox shirt will always be my favourite. I also liked the early 90's away blue flame Draper Tools one and the away black with a red arm Flybe one from mid 2000's.
  2. I know England are not playing there, and it's only stadium related but I was in Leipzig last week so thought to show a few pics of the Red Bull Arena getting prepared for the upcoming tournament that might be of interest for some. Of course, they can't call it that during the Euros so the logos are all covered for it. Yes I drove that little C2 there from the UK. Taken from the viewing platform on Leipzig's tallest building. Logos again covered.
  3. If Liverpool had anything to play for in the last game last season he would be on zero goals in 43 appearances. What a disappointment he's been.
  4. He's been out for a third of our games this season. It's not good enough imo.
  5. I thought that came from his spell at Villa.
  6. I don't believe he played in any pre season games as he was injured from the end of the previous season.
  7. We're all over these. If we don't finish with 3 points today it will be a real disappointment.
  8. Sulemana to add to his Liverpool tally.
  9. Yes. Also that back heel goal he scored after the keeper mistake, the same quick thinking. I think we'll see him back to starting again soon.
  10. Stuart Armstong's goal against Watford in the first cup match. That glance across the goal bamboozled their whole team and they were all rooted like statues as it went in. The reaction from them said it all.
  11. Hi. I have been meaning to post these old pics for a while, and the flight sim thread reminded me. Apologies for the poor quality. I took these pics sometime in the last week of June 2001. My brother in law worked there towards the end of construction so managed to get me in for a peak inside the ground, which I was very excited about! Seems crazy it cost £32m considering how much stadiums cost to build now. Bonus shot of The Dell on the same day. Only a week or so before it was demolished.
  12. All of it and bombing would be an improvement so best left as it is.
  13. Hi, I was going to post this in the computer games thread but it is Saints related so hope it's fine here. Anyway, I thought I'd a share a shot I took while flying over Southampton in a helicoptor in Microsoft Flight Simulator earlier. Closer to St Mary's
  14. I always felt a bit sorry for Bednarek. He never really got to learn from anyone decent while here apart from Van Dijk briefly before he left, although I don't think they ever played together. No Fonte, Lovren or Alderweireld.
  15. I'm sure there would be a lot more competition for his signature in January.
  16. So who will take the free kicks now?
  17. Still strange to me that this team could look quite different after the first month of the season. All the work pre season learning a new system. Then the replacements will have to adapt quickly.
  18. Well I completely missed that, cheers! Good to see him back in training though I wonder if he'll stay or not.
  19. Perraud too. Though not heard much about him since his injury at the end lf last season.
  20. This reminded me of a film I watched years ago with Ray Winstone called All in the Game. It's about a dodgy agent who gets into money troubles, and if I remember he managed to convince a young star player to move clubs for a huge fee so he could get a big payday. The player wasn't keen but went along with it. Something like that. I always wondered just how much influence an agent has over a player or even parents of them.
  21. Time for Rooney then surely?
