Hi, I was going to post this in the computer games thread but it is Saints related so hope it's fine here. Anyway, I thought I'd a share a shot I took while flying over Southampton in a helicoptor in Microsoft Flight Simulator earlier. Closer to St Mary's

I always felt a bit sorry for Bednarek. He never really got to learn from anyone decent while here apart from Van Dijk briefly before he left, although I don't think they ever played together. No Fonte, Lovren or Alderweireld.

I'm sure there would be a lot more competition for his signature in January.

Still strange to me that this team could look quite different after the first month of the season. All the work pre season learning a new system. Then the replacements will have to adapt quickly.

This reminded me of a film I watched years ago with Ray Winstone called All in the Game. It's about a dodgy agent who gets into money troubles, and if I remember he managed to convince a young star player to move clubs for a huge fee so he could get a big payday. The player wasn't keen but went along with it. Something like that. I always wondered just how much influence an agent has over a player or even parents of them.

So Vieira would have done a better job if he always had a full squad to choose from and didn't get any tough games? Could say that for any manager. Would he have got them back on track had he stayed on? Who knows but his replacement certainly did so Palace made the right decision in the end to sack him.
