I think they just want to keep their best players long enough to help them qualify. Same as what happened with Forster and Wanyama. Qualify is a lot of money for them.

It appears that the only question mark around Clasie is to whether he'll be able to make the step up into a quicker, tougher league as i've seen a few people mention now that he can fatigue towards the end of a match. Still really looking forward to seeing him play for us!

Ivanovic is one of the most attack minded fullbacks in the league, as was Cole, Azpilicueta, Felipe luis ect. Like I said, you don't need two defensive minded midfielders in a 4231. It's about your fullbacks and midfielders having a good understanding of knowing when to press and when to sit back, tuck in etc.

No you don't, it's a myth. What you need more than anything in midfield in a 4231 is balance. IMO it works much better with a double pivot next to a destroyer. Or even a box to box next to Wanyama. Someone in the mold of Cambiasso in his peak days would be good next to Wanyama. Chelsea use the double pivot to perfection imo. Matic usually sits deeper to allow Fabregas to start attacks from deep. Modric is another fine example of that sort of player. Yes two defensive minded cm worked very well for us but we suffered in attack at times, especially against teams that played a high line.

Van Dijk looks like a pretty accomplished cb up in Scotland. My only reserve would be whether he can make the step up but there's no doubt he has the potential to do so. I'd be very happy with these two coming in, although if I was being ungrateful i'd rather we signed Van Beek.

Why do people keep commenting on his height FFS? He's the same height as Paul Scholes.

They've got Blind as well. He looks pretty tidy in midfield. Not sure what signing Morgan will mean for Luke Shaw though.

I've always thought that the utd fans that post on redcafe are quite level headed and talk sense, so i'm not surprised they rate Morgan highly. He'd be perfect for them. Lets hop LVG doesn't want sweinsteiger and Morgan!

I think I speak for the majority in wishing him all the best. He's a very likable guy and was a great signing for us. Bagged about 8 (?) goals in our promotion season and was a rock at the back next to Jose.
