Mike Wilde..was it all worth it for you??
Weston Saint replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
He will blame it on the supporters and the previous regime. That is Rupert Lowe's way. He is incapable of any other view. It is like a sickness. His make up will not allow it any other way. That's my opinion for what it is worth. -
Protest stage 2: February 21st, meeting at bargate again.
Weston Saint replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
That is what I believe Duncan or at least scheduled for that week. The end game does indeed appear to be near. -
The club know how many season ticket they have sold. They also know how many match day tickets they have sold. Add the two together and you get the "match day" attendance. The turnstiles do not take into account corporate or guests but I believe they are legally required for Fire Safety reasons. Anyone know for sure?

A staggeringly irrelevant bit of information

That number quoted in the original post is testament to why we find ourselves in this mess. -

The simple fact is though, Lowe and Wilde will not resign. The club will have to stop trading before they are forced to leave. Administration will result in everything going in a fire sale. That with the points deduction will leave us with an empty shell. In the present economic situation that may be worse than supporting the present board by turning up and paying. To many I say...be careful what you wish for! -
Might not happen.... http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/4137110.CLUB_TRANSFERS_BLOCKED_AGAIN/

Absolutely. "It's just a bit of fun" not life and death but some with mundane lives may not agree with that statement

Think you guys miss the point. I am talking about us doing an "Aldershot" ie going out of existence and having to start again with a new club in the regional non leagues. I really do fear that if we go into Admin. Don't wish it. You really do not understand the implications with the present unprecidented economic background.

Just a point before I climb the stairs. Perhaps protecting his investment is avoiding Administration, then stabilizing and finallly the road to recovery. Share price is not an issue unless he wants to sell his shares now. If he fails he loses everything and has to pay again to hold onto SFC. That will be a football club void of all the add ons, void of most of our better players, cash poor, points deduction to name but a few things. In this economic climate, with no prospect of making money and in a lower division who would want to take it on? I am extremely worried we will see the end of League Football in Southampton if we cannot pay our way. May be not next season but with the rot firmly set by Administration, within a few years.

Not correct, I offered but he thanked me and declined. End of subject. I have nothing more to add.

It was a flipant reply to UP's post. Don't read anything into it.

Nah, Corp Ho was a Pompey supporter wasn't he? Assuming we are talking about Nineteen Canteen he is a Saints supporter with a season ticket, just don't ask me how I know
-
He does not have the money to be an Investor He does not have the business experience to be a Chairman or CEO He does not have the coaching experience to be a Manager or Coach. He was a legend as a player. He is a fantastic ambassador for Southampton FC. Nothing more, nothing less.

Why? It went off at a tangent!

What the Dickens is Fagan at Bleak House for? Hoping for Great Expectations having moved from the Old Curiosity Shop.

Sounds like they are "reviewing, the situation"

I do not get complimentaries from the staff, why should I? I started going again, with a season ticket the first season we were relegated and have done ever since although, because of other commitments and a change in my friends circumstances we gave the season tickets up at the end of last season and I pay game by game now excluding mid week games that I cannot attend and any clash with Rosebowl as I work there in the cricket season. Before then work and the difficulty in getting tickets in the Premier prevented me from going. Regular in 1967-1970 though including some away games.

If paying to watch a game and supporting the team is part of the problem then it is a problem I can live with.

Alan Ball for me. He was a leader with a natural ability, great footballing mind, a good passer of the ball and most of all a winning mentality.
-
I am totally against any form of protest against the board whilst the game is in play.

Let's put a bit of Wotte spin on it. We have only lost half of our last 14 matches But joking aside we look to be stuffed.

I can relate to this post. Sets out my fears of Administration. I am not a Lowe supporter, he is devisive, arrogant and totally out of touch with the supporters. I do not see Crouch as the answer either. I am not prepared to call for change for change sake. Look where it got us last time. The time has come to support the club by attending games if we can. I appreciate there are some who simply cannot afford. No problem as they would not have attended in any case. Many more are disillusioned with the poor football and poor results. To them I say without your support it will not get better. However that is your choice and who am I to say you are wrong. Just think it through logically and then make your decision. Blind hatred for Lowe will add to destroying this club and I for one do not think that is the answer. There are many good people at the club working their socks off to try to steady and ultimately improve our position. Give them your support at least, if you can.
