  1. So, after 3ish weeks of play (not every night) I'm finally enjoying the game and not getting frustrated if I get killed. Kill streaks are realtively rare still, but UAVs are becoming increasingly common. I'm much more comfortable with the maps and would say my favourites are Quarry and Wasteland. My least favourite is Highrise by some distance and I always skip it if it comes up. I'm quite enjoying the new maps too and have learnt them fairly quickly. Thanks to all for the tips. Map knowledge is undoubtedly the most important thing - was so frustrating running round corners into a hail of bullets. I've found a weapon set-up that works for me (UMP and Thumper) but can't make my mind up on the perks, although Cold Blooded seems set in stone now. Still only Level 28 though!
  2. Excellent repsonse from NC and very reassuring to know that the harmony continues amongst the management team. The Echo's reporting seems to mysteriously leave out any reference to NC's comments on their coverage!! http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/8163357.Saints_set_to_keep_Pardew/
  3. It's OK-ish on it's own. Not mad keen on the red "face" - looks like it's got a blood pressure problem! Hopefully the new kit will complement it though.

  5. Zola's contract terminated Looking at some other forums, AP certainly seems the popular choice amongst Hammers fans. I really hope this doesn't happen as AP is undoubtedly the man to take us through the divisions. I would understand if AP wanted another crack at it with West Ham though, but wonder whether the grass be greener with Gold & Sullivan?
  6. £10.99 for 5 maps - 3 new and 2 from COD4 (which I didn't play on-line so couldn't tell you the difference). Sounds like people are still having problems with PSN today. I managed to download late last night but haven't had a chance to look around yet.
  7. Anyone else having trouble adding funds to your PSN wallet? You're not on your own, details here http://twitter.com/PlayStationEU Seems like Playstation Europe wern't expecting this level of demand for the first add-on to the biggest entertainment launch of all time
  8. Call of Duty: Black Ops - being released 09/11/2010 'nam, anyone?
  9. He's at his funniest when with Merchant and Pilkington. I've now managed to get through every XFM episode and am half way through Season 2 of the Ricky Gervais show. Then the Guide too.....'s after that and should be all done.
  10. No idea. I remember being surprised at the sums involved at the time as we were skint.
  11. AP wants to instill a winning mentality into the players. Regardless of whether he thinks the play offs are achievable, he'll want to win the remaining games to keep the momentum going into the new season. This won't happen if he publicly throws the towel in so he's got to continue to talk up our chances.
  12. saintds Currently getting stuffed on MW2 on a nightly basis so feel free to increase your K:D ratio against me!
  13. Best interview AP's done all season. Very reassuring and indicates that we can ignore any speculation over the summer and look forward to a strong start to the new season regardless of which division it's in. Speculation re players is a different matter though...
  14. Thanks SS. Really keen to get some gaming in now but the missus is watching some friggin' teen vampire ****e!
  15. Thanks Mark, really appreciate you taking the time to give me some tips. I'm on PS3 and my PSN name is, wait for it, saintds. Not much good to you but if any PS3 users are reading... I've just unlocked the silencer on the Scar-H but was put off by the reduced range. Like you say though, all the better if no one can see me when I do let some rounds off. The advice re tactical lay out is useful too and will try that tonight. Haven't unlocked ninja-pro or claymores yet so will have to do without for now. My sense of direction on the maps is awful and this probably doesn't help when I'm playing against people who know the layout backwards, so will be paying more attention in future to where I am. My sensitivity level is somewhere in that region already but feels a bit jabby, especially when I've got barely a second to find a moving target! Thanks again for your tips and will let you know how I get on.
  16. COD:MW2 online on PS3 (but am very bad at it ) + Pro Evo Bioshock 2 on XBox 360 FM2010 on laptop
  17. Staring to get really ****ed off with on-line now. I look forward to playing the game during the day then when I finally get on-line, it's just a stressful experience. I started playing Free For All and they tore me a new one every time. I would rarely get a kill streak of >2 and everytime I stepped around a corner, or into a room, or out of cover, someone would be waiting to put me down with a single shot. If I end up face to face, a shoot out will result in a death, trying to knife them will end up in a death. If I turn left out of a door, someone's behind me to the right, if I turn right then someone's to the left. The consensus is that "camping" is cheating, but if I camp, kill opportunities are rare and someone just creeps up and knifes me, even if I haven't let off any rounds. Then it was suggested that I try mercenary death match as then only half the players are trying to kill you. No difference. I've tried defensive, aggressive, camping, everything. Somehow, god knows how, I'm up to level 14, but my kill:death ratio is a pathetic 0.31 and dropping. I'm not a novice at FPS games having completed the campaigns on COD4, WAW, MW2 and BFBC, but on-line just seems to be a step too far. Will I ever get better at this game? Is it a case of racking the hours up? Or do I just suck?
  18. Party time! I recognise blondie so she'll be getting some stick at work tomorrow.
  19. lose or draw, the huddersfield result makes no difference as we'll still only need them to slip up once, assuming we can win all of our remaining games. Our GD is massively better. Just hope Warsaw can hang on...
  20. That's 9 so far then. Would Gray, Wise & Dodd only count as 1st team coach, as opposed to manager?
  21. I wonder if O'Neill would be happy to drop a division for one season?
  22. Just checked HTFC's home (league 1) form in 2010 which is as follows: W 0 - D 5 - L 1 Oldham's away form is, admittedly, awful other than a win at Stockport in mid-March, but it's not impossible that Oldham could get something from this game. Draw anyone?
  23. Red Army! My personal favourite.
  24. Nice job. Will download as soon as I'm in wifi range.
