    Same old OS?

The OS has been headlining with Jo Tessum talking about Killer's potential coaching skills for ages, and I had a shock this morning reading (on the front page) that head coach Wotte is looking forward to the Millwall game. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1694458,00.html If whoever edits the OS is reading this, please get your act together. We are a professional club again now. Let's separate new news from old. No room for sloppiness.
  2. Goodness me. Did nobody notice?
  3. Not played since November because of knee ligament trouble. Sounds ideal. Thomas could back him up.
  4. Oh well, at least Duncan will be happy.
  5. It always seems that the big clubs can get work permits sorted but we can't. Remember the Mido fiasco?
  6. I've signed up, but only forecast three games. As far as I can see ahead. Do we have to do the whole lot now?
  7. Meanwhile, News Corp lose £2 Billion. Plunging advertising revenue is blamed. But how are Sky doing? http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2009/aug/05/news-corp-losses
  8. Pompey are perilously close to doing a 'Leeds', the first club that could not sustain the players' costs they accrued in gambling on achieving big-time success. And Leeds's financial black hole was small compared to what Portsmouth's is now. It would be very odd if the PL came to their rescue to save face. Because there will be a very long queue of clubs following in their wake.
  9. That included our own Rupert.
  10. It was on the OS, Stu. But I agree that there should be an arrangement for being able to buy a partial season, especially for those living a long distance away or not able to get to evening matches. I had the same dilemma, but eventually got one, early when it was cheaper.
  11. Correct.
  12. His end of season goals were crucial.
  13. I do believe that Platini, the EU, FA/FL and our own weak Sports Minister do need to look favourably at clubs that raise their own more talented young players through their expensive Academies, only to see them leached for peanuts by richer clubs. It will always happen to some extent, but it goes on far too easily now. Some world-wide legislation is needed. We always say that it isn't going to change, but the looming crisis is an opportunity to redress some of the major fault-lines throughout football. Leadership is needed. Is Platini tough enough to initiate change for the better? I hope so, because no-one else seems to want to.
  14. IN from the cold (Pardew) OUT of the squad (Molyneux, Pulis)
  15. No, he has to take his turn behind Skacel.
  16. FOR SALE A brand new home shirt with 70 on the back!
  17. In Twitter Out ITK's
  18. Thank goodness he's finally signed. But what news of Skacel?

    It's not a waterfront, it's a pongy tidal mud-flat
  20. That's what they said
  21. Perhaps they're just too busy coping with the queues..

    I like that scenario, Wes
  23. Which Saturday?
  24. "....The situation with Lee Trundle is he probably needs to be looking elsewhere. If he wants to be playing first-team football this season, and I would like to think he does, then it will have to be somewhere else," said Johnson. "Unfortunately for him, he is not near the 20 or so first-team players at this moment in time. There are a few reasons why he's put himself too far down the pecking order but I don't want to go into that." So what are those few reasons?
