Looking through this I counted only 21 that would get anywhere near the first team squad, and three quarters of these aren't good enough for League 1. But what do I know? Boy, have they got to prove themselves. When we get 7 essential players in, we'll have a squad of 40.

It's a great matchday atmosphere in the Dell Club, but quite small. it could be used more mid-week though for supporters events, imho.

New era - positive fans only. Whingers out -or undergo the happy-water treatment

Perhaps that's why ML is going to use a PR company.
-
Would he be as good now as when he left us? Didn't his confidence dip? And didn't he have issues with Kelvin? Plus he isn't tall enough for league 1 imo. But miles better than Perry or Lancashire and an overweight Murty imo.

It's got to be better than Lowe's abysmal PR disasters. (And he spent enough on PR agencies)

But its £10 difference for Seniors. That was the extra I paid for not having a season last year. Not bothered about that.

I've always felt that it should be possible to buy something like a 75% deduction season ticket for those living some way away from Southampton who find it impossible to get to evening games. Or to allow 25% of home games missed, because of rescheduling into midweek, to be allowed against away games tickets. I bought a season this year (gave last year a miss), though I know it is going to be impossible to get to at least 25-30% of games.

We've got a bunch of ladies in our team and they can't score. Obviously using the wrong powder.

Five goals conceded at Salisbury? Heaven help us.

Except that his policy was to sell, not to buy - unless the odd Pulis bargain falls into his lap.

Will they have the strength to lift the can?

The bottom line is that the squad is woefully short of stamina. They seem to have had barely any pre-season fitness training under Wotte and Henderson. So against Ajax a creditable first half became a second half shambles. No amount of passion and skills training is any good if their legs won't run. How can they build up fitness in the short time left before the Millwall game?

Munto Finance v Markus Liebherr (Notts County v Saints)

I don't feel comfortable that we are comparing our prospects with a club that narrowly avoided sinking into non-league oblivion. -
Whatever the problems Pompey are having in funding their team and losing key players to other clubs, the bottom line is that their squad is, and will be for a while, light years ahead of ours in terms of skill, physical fitness and passion. When did we last win a match? I can't remember, and we can't even hold our own against non-league opposition. The skates may not be able to spend much, but ML is also being cautious with his money. Let's get a few wins under our belt before we crow about Portsmouth's dillemas.

Had he not got himself banned for his 'red-mist' moment we possibly may not have been relegated. He was sorely missed in the last weeks of the relegation season.

Where, where? I want

Where's Scooby? And Alpine?

Could be good. I would expect Lallana to come on second half with instructions from AP. Lancashire will get another chance when Murty tires.
-
I think that when Pardew's squad nears completion we will start to see some versatility in tactics to suit different oppositions. One of the problems last year was that after a few weeks other teams sussed us. An experienced manager would not allow that to happen. I'm so looking forward to seeing how AP's tactics develop.

I I read somewhere that the Chapel is to be the new Family area. Have a great time.
-
I reckon we should not have too large a squad again. Just two good'uns for each position, plus one or two quality versatile utility players. So Molyneux should go.
-
Molyneux is green and makes mistakes. If AP can turn him into a L1 standard footballer AP could do it with it he rest of the team. I suspect he will be moved on.

Six foot tall. That's a good start. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Harding
