We didn't rush appointing Sturrock. It was a few weeks after WGS left that Sturrock was appointed. During that time Steve Wigley was temporarily in charge, for his first stint at the helm.

Poll: Would you be happy for Pearson to be our manager?

Blimey TDD. You're up at the keyboard early! -
Stewart Henderson is as good a temporary coach as we need. He knows the youngsters and older players and can play them in positions which suit them best. Something that hasn't ben tried for years, astonishingly. Until the new manager is appointed his main task is to get the lads REALLY fit.

I would prefer to relegate them at decaying Fratton Park in revenge of the time we lost and Killer suffered his dreadful injury, pre-match. That was the time when the tide turned against us.

Could they work together?

Poll: Would you be happy for Pearson to be our manager?

Agree. Except the club he would be coming back to would not be the one he left (sorry-was kicked out of). Just a shadow of its former self, when he was here (and we were on our uppers then). He would be a brave man to return, but if anyone can pick up the pieces he can. (It is extraordinary how much of our beloved club has been destroyed.) -
I am so sad to hear that. I didn't know.
-
Bobby Robson - for DOF? That could be interesting. But not manager. We need someone young enough to run them up and down sand dunes till they're fit enough to be seen on a football pitch, which they're not now.

When did we last defeat a league 1 or league 2 or lower league club?

Feel good factor? We're not even resuscitated yet. Just breathing the first gasps of air from being close to death. I don't care if we are not ready for the new season and we get slaughtered by everyone from Ajax to Cheltenham, just glad to be alive. It's amazing how many plants in my back patch seemed to have died in the drought a few years ago and again in last years floods, and yet they are looking really strong and healthy this year.

Could be something to do with Nicola saying there will be a Director of Football?
-
Crouch has certainly helped out Saints funding quite a lot in recent yeas, but this has been the most crucial. Without it it seems we would not have been able to pay players wages, and that would have been the end of SFC.
-
It would be interesting to know which manager would be second favourite of Strachan's supporters Next poll?
-
Undisclosed fee paid. We are not party to the details.
-
The question does not apply. The owner chooses. We do not have a rep on the Board (such as it was) now. Crouch was the last fan who could decide on a manager, and wasn't that controversial enough?

If Adams is being quoted at short odds with one bookie and not others, surely that indicates unusual betting activity. Reminds me of the suspect betting activity when there was a sudden run on when 'arry was about to leave Saints for Pompey. Worrying.
-
OK. So just suppose Adams IS appointed. Curious decision, but we will have to lump it. Cos there is nothing we can do. Period. So, I am anxious to know what positives he could bring to the job. We aren't gonna be able to sing 'Adams out' on his first matches. That will be futile. I know that we all feel passionately that he is not the right man for the job. His weaknesses have been well voiced. But our team is at total rock bottom. Completely demoralised. Adams does have experience. He surely is a tough guy who can kick arses. That will be a beginning. No?

Does ANYONE know who was involved in Harris's 'interested party'? Did Fry? How long would it have taken for the FL to complete 'fit and proper persons' vetting? It seems to me that Fry had had enough of stonewallers, and ML was well in the lead. Thank goodness.

Dock 'em 10 points!
-
I ask myself why Seymore Pierce were so ineffective in finding a buyer during the last three years? Daily Mail. Lowe connection? Was Lowe perhaps involved in Harris's consortium?
-
lol- says it all.
-
Excellent post. But I fear we are going to be haunted by his name and his minus 10 points legacy until we are mathematically secure in League 1. Then we can bonfire all posts mentioning the L word.
-
Fair enough. Well said.

Calling for Strachan, Keagan, Shearer, Goss etc for manager not ambitious?
