  1. No, 879 are the hallowed numbers.
  2. Anatomical fitness is where we most need strengthening
  3. Could be right. I hope he has got the message.
  4. That's what happened last year. Important, but to no avail if we continue to fade towards the end of matches. Indeed last season players looked like they had only just got up at beginnings of some matches. So unprofessional.
  5. This is a most important thread. Fitness and toughness is crucial if we are to survive our 10 points handicap. We have already conceded goals in the last few minutes against non-league opposition ffs! So what are your plans for this Mr Wotte! On this you will be judged!
  6. We don't need loanees at this stage. Keep them for emergencies. We need a stable squad with long term commitment.
  7. Let's not forget we start the season with minus 10 points and our youngsters have yet to come to terms with the hurley-burley of League 1. (And didn't last season in the CCC either)
  8. I don't want Pompey to die, any more than I want any football club to collapse. Nether do I like the smell of doubtful minted owners taking over clubs and bank rolling success for them. We have been very lucky, it could have been so different. But it will do no harm for Portsmouth to suffer frustrations for as long as it takes until they do get the right sort of owner. And so interminable delays are not a bad thing in the long term. WE needed a dose of reality. We were above ourselves and believed the football world owed us a place in the top flight. How we learned the hard way. In the old days Saints success was about growing our own talented youngsters and being able to keep them. Since Bosman and Sky money all that is past. Our new owner is not going to splash silly money to buy success. We are going to have to impress him by playing our way upwards by graft and football skill and proper management, which will take time The skates will one day have to adjust to reality too like we have had to. When I was a kid The Echo and other south coast papers highlighted local teams saints, Portsmouth Bournemouth, Aldershot in bold type in the tables, because many people supported Hampshire clubs as their second teams. It would be nice if the skates and us were in the same division and rivalry was on level playing fields again, based on football skill, not money. But that is unrealistic too. And hey, our owner is rich!
  9. Of course he isn't Theo. He is what he is. Yes, part of what you say is true. But you speak like a jilted lover.
  10. Grow up. All the players bar a couple did badly under poor management decisions last year. This is a new dawn for all of us, players too.
  11. When young players have come through the Academy ranks it is just possible that after five years at one club they need a change of scenery. It is human nature to want to move on. Some don't. Some do. How many of us want to hang around uni after graduating? The last thing we want is to be talked down to and told what to do. So your post CS, if read by Adam, could have the reverse effect you want. I hope Adam wants to stay. With new owners and a new beginning Adam has so much potential to give, and League 1 with the new Saints may not be a bad place to regain top form. Then the future really would be bright. So my advice to Adam would be to stay until the January sales at least, then review. Playing first team footie here could be so much more beneficial than languishing in the reserves or being thrown into the first team in a top club when not quite ready for it (as many have). So my advice would be to stay here till January and then review. It won't harm your career at all, and you can be better prepared for moving on (if you want to). (Of course by then we could be flying upwards ourselves and you would be a big part of it.)
  12. So right - but sadly not everyone will have a clue what you are talking about. The instant success generation expect greatness at a touch of a button. Just like that.
  13. I like 'Magnetman'. I've actually got a Liebherr fridge and have had a Saints sticker stuck to a magnet on it for weeks. How did I know how fortuitous that would be for the future saving of our club. I deserve all the credit! Fortune moves in strange ways. Unfortunately the fridge is old and needs replacing. I will have to keep it forever now. Markus magnetman for me. The shop should manufacture and sell Magnetman fridge mascots imo!
  14. Quote from powered_by_pies: "They (Swiss) undertook DD at the same time as Pinnacle - it's just that the press made more about the pinnacle deal because it had fat Matt at the helm. Essentially, the same thing could be happening with us, whilst SAF is at the fore-front of the press speculation over a deal, there could be one or two other parties doing DD at the same time as him. Plus, a club under administration will take less time to sell, as the administration team's priority role is to already have everything filed and ready for prospective new owners to look at straight away. So it's a bit of a double-edged sword really - it'd be good in a way if pompey were in admin before SAF took over, as the deal could go through quicker, but bad because we'd incur a points penalty' lol
  15. It should be possible to buy Associate Season Tickets for those who live more than 6o miles away which commit upfront purchase of say any 10 matches during a year. Then the club would sell more from London supporters and other outlying areas.
  16. A club is a club because it has members. Membershio of SFC should not be expensive though because it should not be exclusive.
  17. Looks more like a hand shaking a boob to me
  18. I think we will unite in agreeing that this is very boring post
  19. King Elvis lives!
  20. Wait till Millwall's last second equaliser!
  21. I'm not Einstein at math, so 13 million is more than 75% of 40 million then?
  22. Yes, no, yes, no, yes, no.......yes!
  23. Skates are poor, Skates are poor, Ha Ha Ha Ha ha ha Ha
  24. Like it.
  25. Terrific. Now can we have a replay against Totton?
