There have been no winners, especially the small local creditors. We are all indebted to them, and I would like them to be paid somehow. But doesn't the club have to commit to eventually settling all debts in order to get the CVA?

Shares are worthless now, and no place on the Board, but I see no reason why a group of Saints fans should not continue to be their own social club of members. It doesn't affect me, nor anyone else. Good luck to them.

You are absolutely right. And we were only too relieved that someone was interested when it looked like we were dead. Pinnacle and MLT did at least start the very heavy ball moving - sort of. And for that I am grateful.

That was my (probably flawed) reading. The Swiss have been interested all along as we know, but not into paying silly money for a product that might be worth less if the FL were to refuse removing the 10 points, which proved to be the case. Pinnacle presumably had offered more (gambling on their shadowy investors stumping up) because they, and Fry too, believed there would be an opportunity to appeal. So when this didn't happen. and Pinnacle backed out, Fry turned to the Swiss's slightly cheaper bid. But now that Gillico are waving cash about the Swiss may be sticking to their origial price. Not a buyer's market since Gillico came onto the scene. But I am possibly quite wrong. I have no inside info at all.

Perhaps it's just that Fry does have a soft spot for us by trying to get the best buyer that has a footballing background (provided he gets his price).

My guesstimate of what is happening is that the Swiss group have set their price, which was lower than Pinnacle's and following Pinnacle's withdrawal Fry talked to them. My worry is that possible asset-strippers Gillco have upped the price they are prepared to pay, which the Swiss are not meeting. I hope I am wrong.

Kelvin showed CONSIDERABLE loyalty and belief in Saints. He will be much missed on the pitch. Quite a character imo to have proved his detractors wrong. I hope Kelvin goes on to big things. He deserves it.

I know it's the first match since they returned, but reports do not fill me with enthusiasm. Some managers can inspire. Others can't do this so well. I'm just a little fed up with years of underperforming players and tactical muddles by a succession of coaches. We'll never turn things around if we don't appoint a manager who can get the best out of players.

For me, Saints demise during the last month or so has been metaphorical oblivion.

What right has anyone at SFC got to award a manager's contract at this time? Surely only Fry can do this? But why would Fry wish to create a contract that a new owner might wish to tear up, involving expensive compensation? It doesn't make sense to me.

Wotte has done us good service throughout this turmoil which I fear could still go on for weeks. However I have not yet seen evidence that he is tactically good enough to get the best out of our current players in any league, and the Eastleigh match does not dissuade me otherwise. Having said that he did bring in Size last season which was a very good signing, and I would hope that with new owners we would be able to get Size back. But we need to appoint a manager with better tactical nous and the strength and personality to drive us forward. This means the new guy needs to choose and build his own squad soon, and not be saddled with another coach's left-overs. So a new manager really is a matter of urgency as soon as a new buyer has arrived.
