  1. Euell did an excellent job for a few weeks during Pearson's short reign, but he isn't any younger, so this is a good decision.
  2. Weird, isn't it. They think they are so good that they think they can play brilliantly despite losing.
  3. This will be the crux.
  4. He may have been just goggling
  5. A bit sooner, methinks.
  6. And here was me thinking you were the caretaker.
  7. You are correct. And people who complain about Laurie's ego are wimps. We will never get anywhere again without big personalities in charge. Sure they have to have the other skills too. But our players have run the show as they want it for too long. And it's been easy for them with our recent batch of dolefully weak managers. Even Burley lacked the self-discipline and the character to impose a tough training regime, and he certainly had issues with some of the players. Lowe did not have the guts to work with big characters who could challenge him, so he appointed spineless 'yes men' to coach his teams. And not surprising they had real difficulty in attracting top players. The rest is history.
  8. But the word will go round that ML has a reputation for not throwing money away, so I don't think it will be like when Burley arrived and we spent silly money (Glad he bought Kelvin though)
  9. I agree there. That was an error of judgement. I do remember though Davies was going through a lean patch at the time, and didn't look happy being on the subs bench while Beattie was scoring.
  10. His contributions under Pearson saved us from relegation at the end of the year before though. Perhaps, like the rest of them, he needs a manager who can improve his performances this year -- until we get better.
  11. Thanks Nothing controversial then
  12. From Pilchards report I reckon AP will be going straight to ML. I can't wait.
  13. scchhhhh ... don't tell the enemy
  14. Cobwebs on SCW's computers?
  15. Five pages, and no-one actually listened to what LM had to say on Talksport. And no-one knows what he said. LOL
  16. Are you Foxtones Estate Agents?
  17. Pilchards is not anyone... he's gateman
  18. Instead of drinking till they puked and anything but running. Revolutionary.
  19. I was born in Southampton and visit relatives regularly, but much as I love the area I wouldn't want to live in the town, but in the beautiful surrounding countryside. AP has plenty of choices, but hasn't his family got ties in London? Gone are the days when managers live on the job. Most like to re-charge batteries and relax during their rare off-moments away from the club gates, if they have any sense.
  20. Blimey, the game must have been really boring if you could not take your eyes off Rasiak for that long.
  21. He will, but he will also tell them that from what he has seen their physical stamina is not up to standard and that their lifestyles may have to change to ensure a minimum professional match-day fitness and performance
  22. For 'this club' you are speaking for yourself, unless you are appointing yourself club historian.
  23. The difficulty in having a keeper as captain is that he can organise the defence but is not on the spot to rally the troops midfield and up front. I've often wondered if there was a role for a 'sub-captain' to organise the front half of the team. Probably a daft idea. But, yes, we need a commanding figure in the centre of the team imo.
  24. He was up for it, looked lively and put in some good tackles. But by then the whole team had lost its game plan and were chasing shadows.
  25. Lowe would more likely to be sitting in the Directors box at Nottingham Forest.
