  1. That's Essexestist
  2. Hooiveld is out with an eye injury. So what Academy starlet will be blooded instead?
  3. Yes
  4. But without the Liebherr/Cortese business management skills (as we all painfully remember) The days are gone in this country when clubs can survive in the top flight without hard nose big business finance, sadly. My heart would love SFC to be a fan-based run club, but it ain't ever going to happen and it would be a disaster if it did. Whether the KL (or future) regimes respond more to fans concerns is in the lap of the gods. Thank them/Him that Marcus had principles. Enjoy the Liebherr's ownership of SFC while they are still here.
  5. Also the club has made a statement with it's team selection that it no longer seems to have the unlimited ambition of our late chairman.
  6. Perhaps you're right. I was thinking that sooner or later Big Vic has to find the form that successfully blocked heavy tackling sides earlier in the season. Better to try him out against West Ham before Liverpool. Otherwise he's become another big signing liability.
  7. Wanyama (and Schneiderlin) to start and if it's not working within half hour to bring Cork on. We don't need another unnecesary Sunderland debacle.
  8. I hope MoPo gets to understand how angry we all are. And that the club authorities realise that future cup attendances, especially away ones, will probably now plummet, since they have shown they do not value cup competitions as much as we do. They are all taking fans for granted. How can they expect supporters to take cup campaigns seriously when they don't? The club is having a laugh at our expense. They are only too pleased to fleece us of our hard earned money. It would be nice to think that the club would refund loyal supporters who travelled all the way to Sunderland their expenses. But of course they won't.
  9. Sunderland had a week off, Saints had a heavy midweek match against Hull, so it made sense for Saints to rest some players, however the rhythm and coordination was lost.We had no choice but to play Hooiveld and Maya (who had a great game against Hull) and it was a risk to play out of form Vic. imo Wanyama should have been subbed by Cork in the second half.
  10. And she would find that the value of SFC would fall by a lot more than 140 million
  11. Fox (was part of the first eleven)
  12. We've a long list of players who need games including talented youngsters who are on the fringe of the first team. So long as it doesn't force Saints to have to play those who need to be rested, it will be a positive.
  13. We should bring him back for Stoke, Sunderland and West Ham games.
  14. They sent the flying doctor?
  15. Great result! Now bring on Sunderland! And West Ham!
  16. Rubbish
  17. We have to start positively, all guns blazing, not pitter-pattering about like against Stoke, which gave Stoke the opportunity to take the initiative. We mustn't make that mistake again.
  18. The stats might have shown that we were superior, but Stoke wanted the ball more than we did, and were successfully intercepting indecision on our part. sgnificantly in the centre of the pitch. We were quite sloppy at the start and particularly after both our goals. The conditions made it difficult for both teams but Stoke were more ruthless. By the end I was relieved to get the point because both teams were understandably tiring and I could see us making mistakes and conceding again. We need Lovren back asap, and BigVic to start against Hull and especially physical teams like Sunderland and Sham.
  19. Which team will be the fittest after a very tough and energetic Saturday playing on soggy ground? if Saints can recover I reckon a 1-1 draw.
  20. Thank goodness they don't design football kits
  21. In the big scheme of things the millions that KL would get for selling Shaw is small beer, while she would see the value of the club rise by keeping our best players and maintaining our rise up the table. On the other hand if our Prem position looked like worsening (which I don't think it will provided we keep Shaw and the first team players in the summer) then if she decided to sell she might be more likely to want to sell the club with star players intact.
  22. You could be right. I like the strong red though I would like more recognition that our traditional shirt has red and white stripes in the kit, perhaps on the sides of the shirt.
  23. Signed. It is a disgraceful situation you are in, so the best of luck. Have you tried widening the petition through Avaaz?
  24. It is only a fact that you believe you are right.
  25. Overheard in a Fulham pub: "We're ****ing playing Bournemouth, Bournemouth! You have to admit all clubs like Southampton, because they're English, English" The 'Come on England' chants seem to be hitting home!
