  1. As others have said, he’s done a very good job with the u21’s and is a highly rated / regarded coach. Danny Rohl, who a lot of people had rather we appointed, had also not managed a first team game until Sheffield Wednesday. But now is just not the time for yet another gamble. The place is far too toxic at the moment and we need someone with experience to try and right the ship - if this guy gets the job permanently he will probably get about 5minutes grace from the fans. Plus if the players couldn’t be arsed before, this guy is hardly going to get them motivated.
  2. If Still is gone for this one, then wouldn’t be surprised to see an upturn in effort - but we’ll still lose.
  3. What we need v what we will get are completely different, which makes the whole exercise feel pointless. We need a no nonsense manager, who’s going to keep it simple and kick some fcking realisation into these useless weapons (players and ownership). But SR aren’t going to let that happen, so just going to be more of the same.
  4. I have it on good authority that this is accurate.
  5. I think today is the final straw for me, hence voting sack. I do feel for him in some ways, all the transfer business we did but still didn’t sign a quality GK or a ST to fit the profile he’d have wanted to get on the end of crosses. But it’s yet another pre-season totally wasted and there is no identity whatsoever in what we’re trying to do. I agree with S-Clarke though, replacing him isn’t going to sort anything out. SR are the root cause and until they sell up and fck off nothing will change. 4 wins in 48 league matches. Absolutely unforgivable.

    Covid

Still referenced Fellows as being ill at half time the other night (weird why he bought him on if that was the case, but anyway..), sounds to me like an S&D bug.
  7. Hopefully getting rid of them.
  8. Raspberries should be blown in their general direction, perhaps pull some faces too.
  9. They are getting away Scott free from abuse from the masses, performance under them has been diabolical. They should be getting hounded out of the club.
  10. Don’t think you can put today on the manager. Not his fault they missed the chances they did and if one goes in like it should in the first half, then it probably plays out in a different way. It’s hard to see when a corner is getting turned though. The squads still way too big which makes it harder to manage, yet we still don’t have a striker (fit) that suits how he wants to play. That said, he can’t seem to settle on a team or formation and we look embarrassingly mediocre. Despite a full pre-season and two international breaks, we’re not really improving. The club is rotting and has been for some time, Still could leave tomorrow but it isn’t going to get any better I’m afraid.
  11. The script is written… step forward Double D.
  12. It’s literally the same formation as it’s been most of the season, not sure it’s that hard to guess. Archer is literally the only viable option to play up there. We have no physical presence outside of Stewart. Quarshie is injured, so wouldn’t say it’s a surprise to see THB come in. I do really wish we could get to a 4-2-3-1 formation, so Fellows Azaz and Scienza can all play, but it still had the same issue in that there is no good option as the ‘1’
  13. Let’s hope the two weeks prep is put to better use than the last international break… McCarthy, Jelert, Wood, Edwards/Stephens, Manning, Charles, Jander, Azaz, Scienza, Fellows, Armstrong Hate putting Armstrong as the lone striker, but what other choice do we have. The striker situation is just an absolute fcking disaster.
  14. What striker did he buy to play as the ‘1’ though? I’m not saying Still isn’t at fault, he’s been incredibly average for sure, but it was clear the way he wants to play involves having a physical (and capable) striker and he’s been given Damion fcking Downs and a cripple.
  15. I don’t like the 3/5 at the back, but we looked even worse with a 4.
  16. Maybe Fellows is being rested, plus intrigued to see what Scienza can do from the start in the Championship. Not surprised to see Azaz out, he’s been mediocre since he joined. Expecting a low key, low scoring game. They’re average but don’t concede many.
  17. Not sure there can be too many complaints from folk about that team, fair play to Still. Baz, THB, Stephens all dropped as people have been clamouring for. Downes possibly hard done by after Liverpool but he’s been shite this season. Down to the players now then to put in an appropriate performance
  18. Chocolate Wrists / Two Left Feet Pete Jelert Stephens Wood Quarshie Manning Downes Charles Fellows/Armstrong Scienza Archer
  19. Did you miss Newcastle away last season?
  20. I wouldn’t start either as well if I was in charge, but the fact is Stephens is captain and he is going to play most weeks. THB has been by far our worst CB this season. I think it’s negligible with the GK’s either way - Bazunu does some things better, McCarthy does others. They’re both shite and it’s embarrassing that they’re our GK options.
  21. THB has been much worse than Stephens. Neither of our Goalkeepers are any good.
  22. Cynic in me wonders if he’s playing down the performance so the usual suspects can all come back in on Saturday.
  23. Wood has been our best defender this season by far (not a high bar tbf), he deserves to play. Stephens will no doubt be back but I’d love to see Quarshie back in instead of THB.
  24. Let’s hope McCarthy puts in a very good display tomorrow, so he can keep his spot from there.
  25. I think you’ll find that Maggie the Tea lady is ultimately the tactical genius.
