Reads to me that they want two forwards, one of which could be a Livramento type deal. Not two plus an academy signing. Armstrong - basically not happening Sorloth - not an option Eduoard - too expensive Abraham - only after a loan, Chelsea want sale so not happening Fck knows who our main target is then.
-
Sadly, I think you have this spot on.
-
Probably because Blackburn aren’t accepting £12m plus extras.
-
Course they are, they’re looking at fcking everyone.
-
Backing off… because we have moved onto someone better? (Yeah right) Or backing off because it’s getting too expensive for us / we’ve been told he’d prefer Palace?

Strikes me as a Brewster type signing - a lot of hype. Hopefully we wouldn’t end up as shite as Sheffield Utd.
-
Have you seen a St Mary’s crowd? There will probably be some gentle booing, before he notches a goal then it’ll be silence.
-
Nah I don't think so. Lovren was just a complete and utter helmet, stayed for a year then had the whole 'my head is at liverpool' nonsense. Just a generally unlikeable bloke. Nivea boy did the whole 'want to finish my career here' then 5 minutes later was telling everyone who'd listen that he was leaving and would strike etc, plus the fact he still had a long contract. Ings has never really pretended he wanted to stay, or said anything derogatory. He just didn't sign a new contract. He won't get a hero's welcome but he won't get vitriol either.

Do they want a 6ft 6 Danish centre back whilst they are at it? £20m should do the trick..
-
Saint Garrett mentioned he had a text from a friend saying that this had been sorted for three weeks, training was shite, hated Ralph etc. So it's not first hand info (not knocking SG for passing it on).
-
Probably because we had dross like him playing for us.
-
The write up on the OS generally gives a good indication of what terms that player is leaving on (see Lallana v SRL). Surprised there hasn’t been a bit more Ings considering his contribution, which would suggest he hasn’t left on the greatest of terms.
-
Except that’s not happened before.
-
He left 24 hours ago, in what was clearly a shock bolt out of the blue for all parties, with Villa looking to rush it through before they announce selling Grealish. Not sure we can say we’re falling short on succession planning just yet. I’m sure we’ve got targets lined up, but 1) we were probably surprised at how quickly the Villa transfer went through (all done in a day) and 2) needed the money from the Ings sale to actually buy his replacement. If in a couple of weeks time we still aren’t any closer, I’ll agree with you.

Imagine all interested parties will get to the magic number eventually, so will come down to him and where he wants to be. Personally wouldn’t offer £20m. Wonder if we may firm up interest in that French lad with the 200 person family entourage, that all wanted a cut? Or whether we’ve walked away from that as too messy.
-
The amount we got for Ings was more than I expected us to get, so hoping we may look a bit higher up the shortlist for a replacement.
-
Agreed. Which, as a CB, shouldn't really be your best attribute.
-
Spot. On.
-
Now that would be insane.

What the f**k is going on. Done with this rabble

All you’ve done in the JWP thread is repeatedly tell everyone about how big a side Villa are, how much better they are than us, how they have so much more ambition and how they are going to finish in Europe etc etc. Now they’ve actually bought one of our players, you’re moaning that we’ve sold to them? So what is it then? Can’t have it both ways. I’m not sure why Ings going appears to be a surprise to you, it’s been in the pipeline for at least a year (which again you’ve prattled on at every opportunity about saying you were ITK). Would have thought you’d have come to terms with this by now. The club offered to make him our best ever paid player. He turned it down. What else could they have done? Nothing. His motivation has clearly now been shown for what it was, a bigger pay rise. I can’t see Villa being the move he was hoping for, but a bit like Fonte I don’t think he’s had much choice in the end, so backed himself into a corner (his pay packet will soften the blow I’m sure). Pretty sure you’ve also been questioning his attitude these last few months, so surely the club selling him for as much money as possible, to bring in someone who actually wants to be here, is the right call no? Perhaps might be an idea to refrain from writing them off before they’ve even signed. -
Clearly a rushed transfer by Villa, trying to get the good news in before Grealish sale is confirmed. Best outcome we could have hoped for in terms of monetary gains - also nice to see his real motivation come to the fore. Massive couple of weeks now, got to make this money count.

So by that rationale, everyone has regressed at Liverpool under Klopp.
