  1. Jesus. *waits for joke about neither being very good with crosses*
  2. He's our best centre back, but the bar is pretty low. Very good distributor, loves a spray out to a marauding full back. Very slow, not sure he's 100% suited to our game. Decent in the air, though for his size I don't think he wins as many headers as he should do TBH. Imagine he has a good understanding with Schmeichel - will be a decent option for you as a squad player, plus he probably won't be under the cosh as much for you as he is here. Think he looks better in a back 5.
  3. We're going to get stuck with him aren't we? Or sell for a heavily reduced fee either at the end of the window or in January. Can't see a foreign team forking out £20m - we need a Prem team for that and West Ham and Leciester seem to have other (arguably better) targets.
  4. Really can't see us bidding £8m for Armstrong, to then agree a deal for £21m in total. Suspect we will never know the actual amounts.
  5. Edited - Ignore, I'm an idiot
  6. What have you based this 10th place finish business on with Bednarek? How do you know he’s good enough for a 10th place finish, when he’s never finished there in any season with us?
  7. An easy win to improve the squad/starting 11 would be a new GK, really puzzles me why that isn't higher up our priorities list. A lot of focus on replacing Ings' goals, which of course is important - but if we cut down the amount we conceded by say, 15, then surely that would be an easier solution to help bridge the gap. Would be great if we could find our 'Dawson / Evans' style signing at CB, think that would majorly help out. Delaney at CM would be great too. All for signing excellent young talents, but have to be offset by some experience too.
  8. 👍 I mean it's not fending off Real or Barca, but it's a start
  9. We weren't - Udinese and Anderlecht.
  10. No.
  11. Meh, not bothered either way to be honest. Ideally a 2 year extension, a loan, then review next season to see where he is at would be the ideal. However, he may not want to extend. I could be wrong, but I don't think his body composition will ever hold up to a full season, especially not 46 games in the championship. I think he'll make a decent career for himself at Championship/League One level, but I just don't see the hype.
  12. I'd imagine that's already been bottomed out with the agent. Plus I don't think we're particularly poor payers, just look at our wages v turnover... monstrous.
  13. It's TalkSport FFS.
  14. Everything's for sale at every club, at the right price. Someone offering us over double what JWP is realistically worth, course we would sell. As would most teams.
  15. I read the Nixon comment simply as Villa still would like JWP - which I'm sure they do. Doesn't mean we will sell though. Imagine they will bid £35m, we will reject it, they will move onto someone else. Ings and JV to go this year, suspect JWP will go next year. As an aside, isnt JWP due a testimonial this season?
  16. If you read the rest of his post, it tells you.
  17. Forgot it was the school holidays. What’s a prawn gay sandwich?
  18. *insert joke about the Ox replacing Ings in physio room*
  19. I think many fans share your feelings CL, not just Saints fan either. Bearing in mind the impact of finances these last 18 months, the fact teams have still spent £100m, £97m and £75m on a single player makes you wonder what’s the point.
  20. Seconded. He’s had about a 6 month period where he looked to be worth his fee, the rest of the time he’s been garbage along with the rest of our defence. Hope with the funds we can make an improvement back there tbh, someone to displace Bednarek who, for reasons unknown, seems to have completely lost it.
  21. I very much doubt he is the ‘Ings’ replacement - suspect he is the ‘second’ forward player we are after Who number one is is anyone’s guess
  22. Beggars can’t be choosers and all that, but not a fan of loans with no option to buy. Also, well called SS
  23. Yup me neither. I think your Broja shout is probably the nearest I can think, but it won’t be £5m! Would love Delap, but he would cost way more than we’d be willing to pay, especially if we want 2.
  24. Reads to me that they want two forwards, one of which could be a Livramento type deal. Not two plus an academy signing. Armstrong - basically not happening Sorloth - not an option Eduoard - too expensive Abraham - only after a loan, Chelsea want sale so not happening Fck knows who our main target is then.
  25. Sadly, I think you have this spot on.
