Not sure our midfield will be quite up to the standard of Chelsea’s tbh to exploit it
-
I think we had banked on selling Lemina in the window, as one of our few 'saleable' assets. If we'd have sold him, I reckon we'd have seen a new DM come in. As it is, we'll probably end up loaning Lemina out, which leaves ourselves glaringly weak in DM/CM. I was in the 'a new DM is arguably a more pressing need than a CB' camp during the window, and I still think this (even after the Burnley defensive shambles).

On the basis that Koeman never played 4-3-3, I would guess he wouldn't. Puel played 4-3-3
-
I think he's still smarting that our Austrian youth team prospect (who it better than Upamecano, despite never playing a senior game for us) is further down the pecking order.
-
Imagine Ralph will make the same move at the end of the season too.
-
Seems a weird one

27 DM from Maritimo, hmmmm
-
You think Ings will make it to 90mins?
-
Or do the correct thing and drop Ings - Redmond, Boufal and Adams down the middle
-
Is it the end of the window yet? Agree with all your sentiments, if the situation is still the same on 9th August.
-
Same. Though I’m sure they said at point of purchase that they wouldn’t be sent until after Liverpool game, as that game wasn’t included within the membership

I think conclusions were jumped to based on the rumour that a ‘rising star’ came back unfit. If that was indeed true, based on the fact he didn’t go to Austria and is still absent from squad lists (though he may be in Dublin?), I’d say a likelier candidate is Kayne Ramsay. -
Is a player, who regularly plays for a top bundesliga side, played in the Champions League, touted as one of the best young defenders in Europe, better than a lad who hasn’t played a minute of competitive first team football for us? I’m going to go with yes he is.
-
No idea on team or scorers, but assume a few of the missing first teamers from today were involved. Sounds like Brentford had a strong team
-
Apparently played Brentford in a behind closed doors friendly yesterday and won 3-0.

Best we can hope for is a subsidised loan move. He isn't going to take a pay cut, no other club will offer him the same wage on top of a transfer fee. Try and get some of his wage off the bill this year and cut ties next year. If there is an option out there for him for a 'longer term' contract, he'd be mad not to take it. He won't get that sort of security in 12 months time - not that he needs the money of course.
-
Probably. But we wont be signing Bowen.

If you think putting a video out of some sped up selected 'highlights', some of which are actually Redmond, is a good idea to help promote himself to other teams, then good luck to you. I can't speak for others, but I'm not a 'bitter numpty' as you put it - he has been a waste of money, with a cr*p attitude and will not shed any tears if he goes. The fact that top 6 clubs allegedly want him after his time here (which I find bizarre) is great news for us, as we'll more than likely make a profit and get a hefty wage off the books.
-
He's been here two years and hasn't done it.
-
Would have thought performing consistently well on the pitch would be a better way of promoting yourself to be fair.
-
He was wearing a protective boot the other day, so could be injured.
-
I get the impression he was back up option for then instead of Tielemans. By the same token, Lemina is Utd’s option as Tielemans opted for Leicester.

Sam Gallagher - Joins Blackburn: Official

Apparently Wigan out of the running, fee and wages too much. Blackburn have a clear run (via Alan Nixon). -
Perhaps we just desperately want the money in and don't want to drag it out until the end of the window, or jeopardise losing the transfer altogether. I agree though, £15m would be robbery in the current market and we should be looking at least £25m. Have to say though, I'm surprised Man Utd are interested, I can't see Arsenal spending a chunk of their 'alleged' small budget on him, plus Leicester have just signed Tielemans so can't see them getting him as well.
